Chereads / First Demonic Dragon / Chapter 90 - Out With The Old

Chapter 90 - Out With The Old

Exedra's soul was currently floating in front of his grandparents as they discussed something between themselves.

He'd thought they were about to give him two good things, but it seemed like the woman was suddenly bothered by something and pulled the man aside.

"I want you to cleanse him of that filthy god!"

The man put on an exhausted expression like he'd already expected this. "Igrat my dear, to do so would risk war with Jaldabaoth."

Igrat looked like she was boiling with rage until a knowing expression crossed her face and she smirked. "I had no idea that the one they called the adversary was such a pussy."

The man's brow twitched furiously and an unholy pressure began to leave his body.

Exedra's soul trembled furiously.

This pressure… he'd never experienced anything like it.

For the first time since coming to this world, the hybrid was terrified to the depths of his soul.

This confirmed Exedra's sneaking suspicion.

This man was a god or at least a being on par with one.

This power he possessed could never belong to a mortal man.

Not even Helios made him feel this helpless.

Contrary to Exedra's reaction Igrat was trembling for an entirely different set of reasons.

Seeing her husband's power always made her incredibly excited and she got the sudden urge to bring a new race of demons into the world again.

But she had to stand firm this time and reward him later.

This was for her only grandson!

"Are you… attempting to goad me Igrat?" The man's voice was colder than the harshest winter and Exedra was so afraid he thought he would lose his mind.

"Hmph! Call it what you will!"

The man grabbed her by her throat and pulled her in until they were close enough to kiss.

"Can you handle the consequences of doing such a thing my wife?"

Igrat fought the urge to ask him to breed her right there and then.

Had their grandchild not been watching she would've given in already.

Far from being uncomfortable in her husband's grip she gave him a warm-hearted smile unfit for a mother of demons. "I can handle whatever you subject me to, my Prince."

With a smirk the man shoved her away before retracting his aura and taking his grandsons soul once more.

"Your grandmother spoils you to no end.. although I suppose I can't blame her. Even though your father could've impregnated any of the millions of woman he lay with, he never seemed interested. I'm sure she'd lost hope she would ever have a grandson like my other wives."

"That's right and now that I have him I'll give him all the tools he needs to conquer!" Without waiting for another word, Igrat shoved that dark colored orb into Exedra's soul. "They will protect you when I cannot."

A comfortable feeling spread throughout Exedra's soul and he said a silent thank you to his grandmother.

The man seemed to be examining Exedra's soul with a very thoughtful gaze.

"This won't be easy… everything from his soul to his main body has been touched by divinity."

"Then let's destroy them and rebuild him better than before!" Igrat said cheerfully.

'Destroy?!' Exedra began to freak out.

"Calm down boy. It's not what you think." The man reassured.

"Actually.." he began to have second thoughts. "It is, but it's okay you won't stay dead."

'What?!'

"We won't be able to hold him here much longer." Igrat warned.

"You're right.."

The man looked deeply into Exedra's nonexistent eyes and gave him a clear warning. "Listen to me boy. Everything and everyone that you hold dear, hold onto them with everything you have."

Before Exedra could even begin to question why, the man began to rip out chunks of his soul with his bare hands.

'AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGHGHGHHHHHH'

The pain of having your soul forcibly torn apart is so incomprehensible to the mind that, in an effort to protect itself, the psyche can be destroyed.

'Who am I?'

It hurts.

'Where am I?'

It really hurts.

'Why is this happening?'

I feel like I am dying.

As Exedra began to lose all sense of individuality, a single spark flickered in his mind.

Suddenly he saw the outlines of various women and a small child.

'Who are you?'

'Can you help me?'

They seemingly understood before they stepped forward and placed their hands on him.

Immediately, the pain was no longer unbearable and he remembered bits and pieces of who he was.

He could now see the smiling faces of his wives, mother and daughter.

He held onto their memory and waited for the seemingly endless torture to cease.

"Seems like it's done. Don't try anything crazy like that again and maybe you'll live long enough to come see us in person in a few hundred years. "

-

In a black space, Exedra's soul was staring at his father's soul only it was bound with golden chains on a large orb that represented his sin.

One by one, Exedra reached out and snapped the chains before his soul swallowed the sin shackled to his father.

Asmodeus dropped onto the ground and groaned audibly before his soul went back to his body.

"I hope you appreciate the trouble I went through for you, old man. "

Truthfully, Exedra still didn't care much for his father.

But as the son of a loving mother, naturally he saw fit to give her the thing she most desired.

She deserved at least that much.

'Alright… let's go back.'

-

When Exedra came back into his body, the first thing he saw his father's white wings beginning to darken before returning to their normal pitch black.

He looked down at the wound he'd inflected and noted that his heart was already healing and the sins were still standing around him watching him eat.

'Has no time really passed? The power of that man is scary..'

Almost as if on cue, Exedra got several intense alerts from the system.
