Chereads / First Demonic Dragon / Chapter 10 - Who’s Your Daddy Pt. 2

Chapter 10 - Who’s Your Daddy Pt. 2

On a particularly bloody battlefield on the borders of Samael, Yara watched the demons win a rather lopsided victory against the humans.

It was there that she saw him.

Skin as dark as the void, long silver hair that came all the way to his knees and bright red eyes with black sclera.

She was immediately captivated by his handsome face that was unlike anything that she had ever seen and his body that was undamaged despite fighting on the front lines of a war.

Naturally, a dragon on a battlefield with demons and humans has a tendency to stick out like a sore thumb.

He immediately sensed her, and appeared in front of her like a mirage.

Yara had forgone her identity as a princess, adorned in simple commoners clothes and no tiara, she did not resemble royalty.

However, that did not mean that her charm was any less impactful.

Struck by my mother's beauty, my father introduced himself as Asmodeus, one of the seven demon lords and the sin of lust.

Yara had fabricated a story about being a demihuman slave and Asmodeus acted as her savior, while keeping her at his side.

A year after they met, they officially entered into a courtship.

Normally, it would not have taken quite as long but Asmodeus wanted Yara to confess her feelings first and expertly played the role of the aloof buffoon.

Nine blissful years later, the pair woke up one morning to find that my mother had finally evolved.

Yara's hair and scales which were a bright crimson before, had changed into a luminous silver to match the hair of the one she loved more than anything.

She had evolved into a long extinct species of dragon known as a 'Silver Moon Dragon'.

Known for their beauty and immense magic prowess, these dragons were highly revered, and no one knows how they died out.

Surprisingly, her final condition had nothing to do with battle at all.

It was to carry the child of a primordial demon.

The pair were overjoyed when Exedra had been conceived, and Yara finally decided to tell her husband the truth behind her background and how they met.

She expected him to be upset or feel betrayed but much to her surprise, he already knew.

Helios had been scouring the entire world for her ever since she disappeared, and every continent under the sun and moon had heard of the missing dragon princess.

Normally, that wouldn't have been enough to suspect her, but Asmodeus had long noticed that Yara was too well refined to have been a slave.

With that final burden lifted from her mind, Asmodeus and Yara prepared to return home to declare their marriage to Helios as well as deliver some much-needed apologies.

However, as they prepared to leave that night, Asmodeus' castle was ambushed.

There was no army, no sneak attack, no grand entrance. Four humans in bone white armor showed up at the front door and immediately began to massacre all of the demons under his command.

Asmodeus asked Yara to flee, but she promptly refused.

They had been through many battles together, and she was certain that the two of them combined could defend their home and defeat these invaders.

Normally, Asmodeus would have agreed but the power of these humans was something truly terrible and he did not want to risk it.

Faced with Yara's stubborn nature, Asmodeus conjured a portal two thousand miles away from their current location and pushed her through it.

The last words she'd heard were : "I love you, and I will find you both."

Yara attempted to return to the castle to look for her husband, but all she found were the bodies of the demons who'd been cut down in the initial attack, and the castle where they lived that was reduced to rubble.

Eventually, she returned to Antares alone and carrying a child.

Helios, whilst initially overjoyed, could not help but notice that even though his little girl had evolved again the spark in her eyes appeared to have long vanished.

And no matter how hard he tried, he could not seem to get it to return.

Since coming home, Yara has never spoken to anyone about Asmodeus and has regarded humans with extreme prejudice.

While most dragons see humans as nothing more than flies and would ignore their existence, my mother would slaughter every one she saw without hesitation.

Exedra thought hearing that bit of information would bother him but unsurprisingly, it didn't.

This served as yet another reminder that he had become something different than he used to be.
