"Come with me." Brody stood up from his seat holding her hand in his. They walked out of the dinning through the hallway. He led her through a door that led to a garden. Brody walked her a few meters through the garden with different colors and shapes of flowers. It was like an exhibition of ornamental plants. They stopped at a table with two seats. The table and chairs were white with golden patterns on them. It looked so beautiful and expensive. They sat there saying nothing as Brody just stared at her with a smile on his face. However, the innocent girl just looked at her thighs not daring to look him in the face. They sat that way for about an hour as the sounds of birds chirping and water from the water fountain at the middle of the garden was flowing. Things started getting really awkward. It was already evening and the sun was setting.
'This is really strange.' Evie thought after some minutes had passed.
The silence was broken when Brody said "Evie, I want to take very good care of you like my life depends on it. You may not trust me now, but I will do my best. All I'm asking of you is to stay here... with me. You can do whatever you like, ask for whatever you want and I'll get it for you no matter what. This pack house is your home and don't hesitate to tell me if you need anything. Alright?"
'nod'. What else could she say? No?
"I'll take you somewhere tomorrow. Come on, let's go in for dessert. You want some chocolate? Hmm?"
'nod'. Of course she did. Last time she had chocolate was at her uncle's house, when things were still a little good for her.
'chuckle' "You're very cute."
'Cute?' she thought. She shouldn't get too comfortable around these people. She still didn't know what they wanted her useless self for.
They walked back into the pack house with Brody leading the way this time instead of holding her hand like she was going to run away from him.
Evie ate a lot of ice cream, chocolate and other sweet treats that were presented to her. No matter what happens to her after all these, she knew for sure that she would never regret that feeling of joy and satisfaction that tingled in her heart at this point in time. She knew that all she had to do was to enjoy it while it lasted.
She filled herself up to her heart's content that she couldn't take any more and she felt so heavy and full. She left the empty containers on the table in the room and headed towards the bed. There was no one watching her while she ate dessert so she ate it as comfortably as she could in the room.
*Meanwhile, in Brody's room*
Brody came out of the bathroom with his baggy top and sweat pants as he dried his wet hair with a towel. He sat on the edge of the bed as different thoughts ran through his mind. He finally found his mate. The only reason he ever wanted a mate was to get those crazy Elders off his neck. Now, he couldn't even tell anyone that she was his mate for her safety, not even her. Telling her might even make her freak out more than she already is.
Another thing was, this girl is definitely a werewolf but he couldn't sense her wolf. But the Evie he knew was not a wolf. Why do they look too much alike. The hair, the eyes, body, every fucking thing except personality of course. She had definitely suffered a trauma and doesn't trust anyone right now. Being a werewolf without a wolf was a direct way of saying that the person is totally defenseless. The look in her eyes everytime he looked into them was that of fear, weary and sadness. But she did look happy when he brought her those chocolate and dessert in her room and that made him the happiest werewolf on earth. One thing was for sure, he needed to protect and care for her. It's the only way she could open up to him and trust him. That was all he wanted for himself. Her trust. Once she trusts him, everything after that is left to the moon goddess.
Evie lay flat on her stomach as she smiled. Is this what it feels like to be too full? In no time at all, she was fast asleep. "Those cookies felt really great and the ice cream too." she mumbled to herself.
Evie opened her eyes again to meet herself in a temple. It was very large with high walls. There were wierd inscriptions on the wall that were written in a language she didn't even know. "What is this place? And how did even get here?" she asked herself. There was a source of light behind her that faintly illuminated the temple. She turned around and saw candles of different sizes arranged in a circle with the light burning on them. A figure in a black cloak sat at the center chanting something in a mysterious language.
Evie took a few steps forward to get a better look at the person's face. Deep down, she was extremely terrified and scared. She didn't even want to be there, not to talk of moving closer to the figure that was giving off a strange dark aura.
She wanted to get out of this place far away from that person because his presence spelt death. But all she could do was follow her legs which seemed to be under some control. With slow and forced steps, she finally halted a step away from the candles. The person slowly looked up and stared into her eyes. '(gasp) wait a minute, I know this person.'
