"Hey, Myles."
"Hey." He responded with his elbows on the table and his jaw resting on his intertwined fingers.
'The fuck. This dude hasn't changed a single bit.' Evie thought to herself.
Myles is Max's brother. Twin brother.
When they were kids, Max and Evie were super close. Myles always acted like he was the superior. He made it look like he was in charge and was responsible for them. Whenever they were playing games, Myles was usually their target even when he was not playing with them because he was "mature". He was a very unfriendly person. Always boring and serious.
And here he is sitting on his own just like he used to. Max and Myles were never identical twins even till now. Although they stood at the same height, there were a few differences.
While Myles was handsome and hot, Max was handsome and cute.
While Myles had an intimidating aura, Max had a friendly aura.
Myles' has slightly curly black hair ( his hair stylist is pretty impressive), Max has straight and well combed hair
Myles has sleepy eyes and a passive expression, Max has partially sleepy eyes and partially passive expression but still wore a smile on his face.
Some other minor differences we'll find out about later when we get to know them better.
When Evie saw that he was not at the least interested in talking to her, she turned her attention back to the board.
"ENGLISH" She read. 'Oh shit. This class will be pretty boring. All English teachers had that vibe in them and passed it on to their students, leaving over half the class either sleeping or doing something else.'
"Attention class!" The teacher slammed his palm on the desk.
The silence made Evie realize how much noise was being made.
"May we proceed?" he asked but got no answers. He then turned back to the board and started talking. He didn't even face the students. He was just teaching the board. Just like she had guessed. English is just a stupid compulsory subject. Although no one was making noise anymore, some people were still murmuring. Evie had a theory 'He is like every other English teacher but hates noise. You can do whatever you like but do not disturb-'. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Max say "You don't have to be too serious in his class. He doesn't care whatever you do, as long as you don't disrupt his class." Like she guessed. "The only thing he takes seriously is his assignments. You have to do all of his assignments or it's a big hit on your grades. One assignment means a lot to him." He explained.
"There are some people I'd like to tell you about. You've met Jonah and Myles. The girl sitting beside him on his left is Kim. She claims Myles as hers but they're not dating. I've liked her for a very long time but she's too attached to Myles to notice me. The dude on Myles' right, the one behind you is Kyle, Myles' best friend and the one beside him is Patrick. Patrick, Kyle, Jonah, Myles and I belong to a boy group people call 'The Alpha Boys.' I don't know the person who came up with that name but everyone started using it. I'll talk about the group later. Over there is Bella and her twin from a different mother, Stella. You can say they are Kim's minions.
And there is the silent devil of the class, Daniel. He fucks a lot of girls but he doesn't look it. And at the extreme end of the class is Camila, the gossip queen. She can gossip literally anything and about anyone. There's the bookworm who works himself up too much. I'm pretty sure he's read all the textbooks for the session and even more. The rest of them, you can say are just like every other classmates. I've described these people with as much sincerity as I can offer." He then leaned on the chair with his arms crossed waiting for her reaction.
"So, this Kim girl, have you asked her out?" She leaned in to ask him so no one else would hear.
"I can't believe that's what you chose to ask about." He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"But, yes. I've asked her out a couple times before. FUCK! I mean a lot of girls ask me out and gush over me, but this particular girl keeps playing hard to get. It's so frustrating, Evie. Even Myles has tried to push her away but she didn't even budge. I got tired. Not like it changes anything. But why does she keep playing hard to get?"
"I don't think it's called playing hard to get Max, I think it's called being 'not interested'. Maybe you should just move on." she said squinting her eyes.
"You think? I've thought about that a few times before but I don't know why I keep lying to myself that I still have hope. I've dated a few girls over the years waiting for her to get over Myles but I don't see it happening."
"Wait, how long you've been waiting?"
