"Thirteen years ago, your father searched for the bearer of the Capewell's curse. We both know he was a well-known researcher at that time and was secretly working for the Supreme House."
Alec did not say a word. His expression was blank. He wanted to know what more there was to the woman's story.
"The majority believed that the Capewell curse had been cut centuries ago, but the Supreme House's chief knew that was not the case. William Everston has always been curious about such an ancient curse, so when Lord Eleazar reached out to him, he was more than willing to take the case."
