"Who are you trying to fool?" Amber's icy voice made the room's temperature turn colder than it already was.
Just when he thought he didn't get caught… Vincent huffed a breath of disappointment. His eyes lazily darted to the woman across the room whose eyes were eyeing him sharply.
"This is a good dagger," Vincent played with the small dagger in his hand. Its hilt was made of a crystal glass with small flowers inside.
Amber raised her hand in the air and the dagger flew back to her. The soft wind it carried made the flames of the candles near Vincent's table dance.
"Sandalwood," Amber said, looking at the few candles near Vincent. "That must be your favorite scent of candles, Lord Vincent."
"How did you know it's me?" Although Vincent knew that the successor of the Supreme House's chief was a very capable woman, he was not expecting this. He believed he didn't do a single mistake and his act was flawless, yet she still caught him.
