"Maybe they know," Alec suggested. Lauren came to his office to tell him what happened to Jennifer, which he already knew. "Whoever is behind the rebels, if it is that mystery woman, she must be under the assumption that you are the one who wants Jennifer Haystone in the castle."
"So she had her killed?" Lauren hissed. If that was true, how could someone easily kill her underlings? She looked at Alec, her knuckles turning white around her clenched fists. "If she doesn't hesitate to kill the people working with her, then that means she has a lot of pawns to use."
