"This discussion is done. I don't see any relevance of this to our partnership. I don't care about your feelings whatever it is," Lauren said the words firmly as her heart hammered in her chest.
She could not tell if Alec was joking but a part of her could see a foreign emotion in his eyes as they stared at each other. His anger was still evident, but something else was there, and it was rather gentle and warm.
"I don't care if it's true that you fell for me or if you are just playing. I believe it's out of my business. Now let me go!" She tried to pull her wrists from his grip but he pinned them on his chest and didn't give her any chance to escape.
"What on earth are you doing?"
"I'm not playing with you, Lauren. I don't play with women at all. I fuck them and leave." His dark tone made her stop struggling.
