Matthias coughed and turned away. "Pardon me for interfering. I shall wait for you-"
"No, no. Nothing is happening! I-I just fell!" Lauren quickly moved away from Alec and returned to her seat.
Her cheeks were flaring in embarrassment. She couldn't imagine what Matthias was thinking when he caught them in that position. There was no problem because after all they were married, but what kind of barbaric people would do it in a carriage anyway?
She glared at the shameless vampire who acted like it wasn't a big deal.
"What happened, Matthias?" Alec asked.
"One of the wheels broke, Your Highness," replied Matthias who peeked in through the window. When he saw them back to sitting across from each other, he stood by Alec's side of window. "I need to repair it which might take a few minutes."
"Repair it then."
Matthias nodded and went down to check the wheel and repair it through a spell.
