Chereads / Black and White Immortal God / Chapter 3 - Settling Down

Chapter 3 - Settling Down

He had a slight green and red hue on his face as though his veins were about to protrude.

He felt that the final remnant of the Withered Rose was about to spill and he gave in.

A moment later, a metallic feeling surged within his mouth instantly and he gaped in.

PFFT!

Spitting up a mouthful of black blood, Xiao Yunhai returned to a rosy appearance. He seemed more decent and his looks were extremely breathtaking.

If one saw him basked in divine light and suspended in midair, they would likely mistake him for a heavenly god!

Wiping the bloodstain off his lips, he gave a cold gaze ahead as he seemed indifferent to the surroundings.

He had recovered about seventy percent of his energy and as it turned out the Flame Return Pellet was actually a priceless pill.

Not only had he been able to suppress and extinguish the existence of the poison, he had managed to recover a large amount of his energy.

All this was due to him taking it firsthand, besides he could not guarantee having the same effect on a second consumption.

"Dao Li! Divine Immortal Sect! I'll get even with you as soon as I attain godhood. This embarrassment I'll see to it that you witness in threefold or more" Xiao Yunhai declared coldly with a ruthless smile.

A dense murderous intent emerged for a split second but he immediately retracted. He was not scared of his aura leaking out to alert the Divine Immortal Sect like most experts.

He had courted death more than a thousand times and his heart had been tempered long before now to be fearless even in the sight of death.

He knew that as he could not let off the Divine Immortal Sect , they could not do so either.

They weren't benevolent Buddhas and calling them heartless demons was just an euphemism.

His only worry was the innocent little child that hung on his shoulders. He had to find a fated place which would temporarily house him or even permanently raise him.

He might seem brash and uncanny but that was all he could do for himself.

His young child, Xiao Ming who was only an innocent baby had been forced into this whole mess.

For a nearly a month, both he and his father were chased like dogs and they could have continued fleeing if he hadn't discovered the cliff.

He knew that he owed a lot to this young child he bore in his arms.

He could only hope his son would really not turn his cruel hands against him with hatred.

To the Sheng Yun realm, he was the Disaster Demon, but deep within he was an affectionate father and husband that the world had yet to see.

The road ahead was narrow and filled with an endless stream of danger and he was not even sure about the safety of his life.

"Little Ming! I'm really sorry to do this, but we both have no choice. You can only know about this if one day you truly have the strength to tread this path. As for now, you ought to know very little" the usually cold Xiao Yunhai gave off a fatherly air around him as he placed the sleeping Xiao Ming in his arms.

His tone was solemn and he seemed like an affectionate parent without releasing his cold airs while he gently caressed the already asleep Xiao Ming.

CRACK!

Placing his jade like fingers on Xiao Ming's glabella, he made some few dao chants. Following after, a blob of golden light jumped off from Xiao Ming's glabella.

The blob of light seemed alluring and enchanting as it floated buoyantly in the air.

Immediately after, a grayish cage appeared and sealed the hovering blob of light tightly within its diameters. The caged blob returned to Xiao Ming's glabella silently.

The blob of light was Xiao Ming's few memories with his parents, thus, the cage signified that it was actually being sealed.

It turned out that just like that Xiao Ming's memories with his parents were sealed temporarily and he could only unlock the seal once he truly gained a higher cultivation level.

Xiao Ming only jolted slightly and muttered some gibbers but it turned out he was still fast asleep.

With a grave expression, Xiao Yunhai returned the child to his embrace as he set off, leaving the scenery.

A fortnight later...

A little bustling town appeared in Xiao Yunhai's view. The air around here seemed peaceful and calm making it optimal for secluded cultivation and to comprehend the dao through the experiences of the mortals.

It turned out everywhere was relatively stable and small but they seemed to be lacking in 'cultivators' when compared to the Sheng Yun realm.

From what his Royal Spirit level core-sense had captured, the highest auras were of the Dao-Merge Dao-Masters(Demi Immortals).

Back in Sheng Yun, the dense population of Dao-Merge Dao-Masters were ranking in their billions.

This very huge number resulted into them possessing very low statuses that were only a little more than the average mortals.

At less than ten years, the monstrous geniuses of the Sheng Yun Realm were already Yang Kings with very promising future.

Of course, it was in speculation that this little town could not possibly compare to a Behemoth existence like the Sheng Yun realm.

This was true due to the region possessing thinner layer of Heaven and Earth qi to cultivate.

On the safer side, it was better to reset Xiao Ming to this kind of environment.

Although its entire purpose was focused on protecting Xiao Ming's wellbeing, it could also serve as a tool for tempering his mental fortitude and willpower.

After this issue was attended to, he could finally rest his troubled heart and face his problems calmly.

Xiao Yunhai believed that the moment he settled down would be the time he would be able to resolve the calamity and unite with his family again.
