Ozan looked down through his shirt to see the color of the gem on his chest. It was pitch black, with no sign of color. Ozan stood up and began using recovery.
The color of the gem was moving from pitch black to a navy blue color. Ozan continued to focus on his recovery for what seemed like an hour. Then he heard it.
"Skill [Refine] has been Activated, [Line] energy capacity has increased by [10%]. You can also release energy a little faster."
"Good! Now I need to figure out how to combine my skills." Ozan walked up to the tree and focused. He concentrated around an eighth of his energy in his hand
After awhile Ozan decided to release the energy. The energy flew out in the shape of the whip from earlier. It flew by so fast that even Ozan couldn't see it until there was a chunk missing from the tree.
"So the energy blast takes the form of the Line energy." Ozan began walking along the path again in search of the other two. Ozan made sure to mark every thirty trees along the path. After walking for an hour he tripped on a big root that was sticking out of the ground.
"What-" Ozan was talking until he looked up and saw a tree with a big chunk missing out of it. It was the first tree he had marked. Ozan stood back up and walked a little further to see if there were more trees marked already. He was surprised to see that he had somehow gone in a complete circle.
"Damnit, I hope they are alright." Ozan said as he set up camp for the night.
Ozan slept for a while, it was hard to tell if it was midday or morning. Ozan stood up and looked around, there was no sign of the others yet. Ozan had already figured out he was inside some illusion.
He continued walking along the path, but noticed the wounds he inflicted upon the trees were healing over. Ozan didn't want to attack the trees again. He wanted to save energy, but if they fully healed, he would have to do so.
Ozan caught a glimpse of something scurrying into some bushes, he was getting hungry and needed something to do other than walk.
He chased after the fast white blob that was darting around the forest floor. He couldn't make out what it was but still chased it nonetheless. Ozan hadn't noticed that he was being led off the path by this creature, but thought nothing of it.
Ozan never felt this relaxed while chasing something. He only wanted to catch this creature and eat. "Why can't I catch you little guy?"
Ozan stopped chasing the creature. Not willingly, as he was impaled by what seemed to be a thousand needles. At first, Ozan hadn't even batted an eye, whatever made him chase the creature so carelessly had still been affecting him until now.
Ozan felt the blood draining from his body, not a single bit landing on the ground. He was being impaled by the roots from the trees. They were draining his blood fast. Ozan had his recovery skill and luckily didn't pass out from the amplified pain and blood loss.
"Damn, I'll die if this keeps up." Ozan forced his arms to move and hopefully break the roots impaling him, but it was for naught. They kept growing back to pierce him more.
"W-Why?" Ozan was too tired to speak. He just wanted to drift off to sleep. As he drifted off to sleep he heard something in his ear.
"Auto assist activated, be prepared for a bit of pain throughout your body." Ozan heard this and immediately woke back up, the pain he felt throughout was keeping him awake. Ozan felt his arms moving and saw what the system meant.
"First form, Cord." The system said whilst moving Ozan's arms accordingly. Ozan saw that the system was wrapping the energy all around the roots feasting on his blood.
After the system wrapped up around all the roots. His arms did a pulling motion. His whole body was freed at once, but he didnt take a second to enjoy his freedom as he immediately took off.
Ozan had to dodge and weave around roots that still occasionally nicked him here and there. He reached full speed as his body finished healing. Ozan ran off path not caring about where he was going, he just wanted to get away from the trees.
Whilst running Ozan came across what seemed to be a Temple of sorts. It had statues of tall humans with bows. He ran around to find an entrance, taking a branch to the face and some roots through his torso.
Ozan brushed off the miniscule wounds and pushed forward. There was a grand entrance with four statues. Each statue held something, but Ozan had to run for cover before investigating.
There weren't any trees near the entrance, which was odd enough, but the statues were each holding a big staff. Each statue's staff was a support for the temple entrance. Each of the staves held a gem of a different color. Purple, Green, Blue, and Red.
Ozan walked into the mysterious temple and heard something being said in another language
"Khul Palu Shi Modorra. Mas Khult Dal."
Ozan didn't understand what was being said, but it quickly became understandable due to the system.
"You have entered the seal of Modorra. State your name."
Ozan thought for a moment,'Who was talking? What language was that?' The system responded.
"According to my database, it's a language developed on this planet since before humans arrived. I was able to translate what they said because there are currently 8 individuals with knowledge of this language using the system."
'Ok, I will see what's going on.' Ozan said to the system.
"I am Ozan." He said whilst looking ahead at the darkness. He stood tall without showing weakness.
"Ozan, come forth." Said the echoing voice,"You shall go through our trials." The temple lit up where Ozan could see what the inside looked like. It was mostly empty except for the Big pillars surrounding a ginormous tree in the center of the room.
"Your first trial will be a test of your mind. Prove your capabilities and put the weapon together." The voice said as a marble slab rose from the ground. Ozan walked up and saw that there were some parts that would form some contraption. There was a string, so ozan knew it had to be some kind of bow.
"This item is a ranged weapon indeed, but it's not like a normal bow," Ozan heard this and noticed a loading chamber of sorts.
"It can hold multiple arrows." Ozan said while looking at the strange arrows," These are just so small, how can they even Fly straight."
Ozan grabbed the string and looked at it carefully. He looked back to the table and grabbed a few items. He grabbed the chamber and looked at it closer, there was a slot with a groove in it. There was a big handle that definitely should attach to the Chamber and base of the bow.
"This is a really strange bow. How do you hold this?" Ozan was having trouble wrapping his head around the design of the bow, it seemed you had to hold it sideways when compared with a bow.
Ozan put the string on, making sure to get it through the slit in the chamber. After a bit of fiddling with the bow he figured out how to use it. You push the handle all the way forward and pull it all the way back to load and launch at the same time.
"Well done. You've assembled the Automatic crossbow. Would you like to learn more?" The voice said in an excited manner."By the way you passed the first trial."
"No, I don't want to learn more." Ozan said in an uncaring tone. The voice did not speak anymore
"The trial of power will now begin." Said a different voice. This voice was more pronounced than the former.
More slabs rose from the ground, they each had weapons on them.
"Choose one and the trial shall begin."
Ozan walked over to the slab that had two daggers laying on it. These daggers had a white color with a red handle. He picked them up from the slab, causing all the other slabs to sink back under the ground.
Ozan looked around and saw a huge man with a huge ax standing across the room from him. They made eye contact, and Ozan knew the fight would begin.
