Chapter 57 - Tivon 56

TW// Blood, death

"Elias!" Tivon caught him before he could fall down. "Elias!"

His chest turned red, as blood sprawled across him. His face went pale in an instant, eyes rolling back.

"N-no, no, no. Elias!"

His body became heavier, his skin getting colder with every second.

"Elias, please n-no." Tears blurred his vision as he had to lay him down. "E-Elias, please."

Tivon's head fell on his chest as he sobbed. "You p-promised me, after this, we'll g-go." He cried louder, digging his fingers into his bloodstained shirt. "You p-promised."

Someone behind him fell to their knees. Tivon's head snapped to Cornelis, her whole body a muster of wounds. One of her hand was still raised, the look in her amber eyes as cold as death.

"Y-you killed him?" Cornelis' eyes were still on Elias. "W-why?" Cornelis drifted her shaking hand towards Tivon, however, he was already on his feet.

"Cornelis save him."

He knew she could do it. She had saved him from death, so she could do it again. What is another curse to her? Tivon limped towards her.

"Save him!" He screamed as he fell down before her. Cornelis hand was now on his chest. She could kill him, yet she didn't move. Her golden, dead eyes were still on Elias, as she was still processing what she had done.

"Quit staring and save him!" Tivon grabbed her dress and with the most rough, awful voice, he had never heard come from his mouth, shouted. "Save. Him."

Cornelis finally looked at him, eyes filled with tears. "I c-can't." She whispered as her hand fell down beside her body. "I can't k-kill you."

"Save Elias!" Tivon screamed through the tears. "P-please."

"I can't d-do that either. I have no power left to make a curse like this."

Tivon let go. So, this was it, Elias was dead. He was gone. Elias was dead. Tivon looked down at his shaking hands a mixture of his and Elias' blood on it.

"Tivon?" He looked up, despite not wanting to. Cornelis gently smiled at him. "Please kill me."

"W-what?"

"P-please. I deserve death." Her voice shook as she sobbed through the tears. "Please, make t-them quiet. S-save me from them."

She reached for the dagger that was dangling from the rope, tied around her. Cornelis pulled it out and threw in before Tivon.

"Please."

Tivon looked at the dagger and up at Cornelis. She looked tired, barely holding herself together. He took the dagger and approached Cornelis. She smiled as he lifted the dagger up.

"I'm s-sorry." She closed her eyes and bowed her head. "For e-everything."

Tivon's body was shaking and the pain at his side stung him. His vision kept blurring. He slammed the dagger into the ground in front of Cornelis.

"I c-can't. I would if I could, but," He pressed a hand to his wound, where blood was still dripping out. "it hurts too m-much."

"N-no." Cornelis started crawling towards him. "N-no, you need to k-kill me."

Tivon could hardly push himself away from her, his body at its limit. He crashed into Elias' body. "Cornelis I c-can't."

She crawled after him, black blood spitting out of her mouth. "You need to!"

And then in a sudden, she stopped. Cornelis turned around and Tivon followed her stare. Her sister was standing behind her, hands raised, her body untouched with no wounds. Cornelis smiled as Evelin closed her hand.

Evelin's face was turned away when she stopped Cornelis' heart. Tears fell down her face. She turned back and started to leave.

"Wait!" Said Tivon and she stopped. "Save Elias." She turned around to face him. Tivon held Elias' cold hand. "You a-are a witch of l-life. Please s-save Elias."

Evelin quietly approached him, crouched down to him and spoke with the softest voice. "You are dying too, Tivon."

Tears poured out of him. He knew that. He knew he was dying. Tivon knew it from the moment the battle started. He knew it when Cornelis returned his pain to him. He knew that he was dying from the moment he was born.

Tivon squeezed Elias' hand and looked Evelin in her amber eyes. He spoke with a calm, quiet voice.

"Then save us."
