Chapter 4 - Finding Home

Abe with Atlas in tow went all over Arrow Point, from one end to the other, and every shop, and person in between, at least that's what it seamed like to Atlas. throughout the countless people Abe asked their was a mixture of four responses being, being ignored, told they haven't ever seen Atlas in their life, saying they'll help, or the most heartbreaking of all someone getting their hopes up only to realize that Atlas wasn't the kid that they were looking for.

After what seamed like an eternity of getting his hopes crushed Abe led Atlas to a building larger then anything else he had ever set foot in. Right outside their was a sign that said "Adventure Guild". Atlas was extremely confused by the hustle and bustle of the "Adventure Guild" that was completely different from any of the other places they had gone into that day. Seemingly sensing his confusion Abe told him "This is the place where everyone that can't stick a job, find work." He said with a hint of disdain or was it superiority, though it was hard for Atlas to figure out which it was if not both. No matter which way it was though Atlas couldn't help but feel dejected for some strange reason at Abe's words. "But its a great place to find someone that'll do a one time job", Abe continued. Suddenly almost as if he could sense Atlas's feelings he off handedly said, "Well I guess some people enjoy the lifestyle not me though". As Abe was talking Atlas was looking around the inside of the building and it was a lot smaller then he thought it would be with people walking about and what looked like clerks talking to anyone who was in front of them and a board that had posters on it he couldn't read out from the distance. After looking around some more almost completely hidden was a door way where he thought he saw quite a few people going in and out of. Whatever was beyond that doorway was probably taking up the rest of the space Atlas thought would be their.

Almost right after Abe stopped talking, they reached a clerk. And upon reaching him Abe asked " is their anything about a missing kid named Atlas who's about ten years old?" a upon getting the familiar negative response Abe asked a different question this time. "How much would it cost to send an announcement to every branch in the district about a missing kid named Atlas being in Arrow Point's orphanage?" Before Atlas could ask Abe what he meant by Arrow Point's orphanage, the clerk responded "fifteen dollars". It was at this moment that Atlas saw Abe's face turn into a grimace temporarily before handing the clerk 15 silver coins, and taking Atlas by his hand and walking out of the building.

Once Atlas got a chance to breathe from being dragged out of the, Guild. He asked Abe "what did you mean by Arrow Point's orphanage"? To which Abe crouched down to Atlas's eye level and told him "Its where you will be staying from now until someone takes you in". "But why can't you take me in?" Atlas questioned growing sadder by the second. "Because my job isn't fit for children, unlike the orphanage, where they'll teach you so many things, and with your eye color you'll probably fair quite well here, and what do you know we might see each other again some day". "Anyways we should get going to the orphanage, so they can get you set their, I also have to get going soon too". "What do you mean by my eye color?" Atlas responded confused by something new this time. "You'll learn, soon at the orphanage if they do a half decent job teaching you, but I don't have enough time, to teach you what eye color has to do with anything, but they will." Atlas towards this felt like he couldn't ask anything more and followed Abraham in silence until they reached the orphanage.
