Chereads / I BECAME THE VILLAIN OF A NOVEL / Chapter 83 - Epiphany.

Chapter 83 - Epiphany.

Late at night, darkness fell even more deep into the sky, reflecting the lights from the small campfires in random places. As the wind circulated around the wilderness of the Greenfield, the aromatic fragrant of smoke spread across the woods, reaching Kendra's nose.

As soon as Kendra whiffed the meaty and greasy smell of a grilling meat; Kendra swallowed as she felt both hungry and thirsty.

However, Kendra still stayed sitting inside the bush, ignoring her ravenous stomach. Because Kendra knows that she really can't hunt anything with her current condition. And even if Kendra does manage to eat some edible foods; Kendra thinks that there is also a chance that she might just throw up everything again, considering that there are still a lot of campfires around.

Until now, Kendra still feels sick and nauseous from the sight of it. It's just that Kendra couldn't vomit anything anymore since she had emptied everything earlier. So, right now, the best choice for Kendra is just to stay hungry and starving.

Thinking this way, Kendra suddenly fell into a realisation. The solution to her predicament is to not eat anything and let her stomach be empty. So when she is in the middle of handling flame; Kendra won't vomit anything and display any unsightliness.

Growl~

Kendra touched her belly, hearing her empty stomach made a whining noise. A sigh escaped her lips as her ocean blue eyes stared at the dark sky, hoping that this long night would end soon.

Or at least, Kendra hopes that these campfires would just disappear instantly in one fell swoop, so Kendra can finally continue her plans.

Like what Kendra hoped, a cotton greyish cloud that sparks bluish lightning slowly appeared on the edge of the dark horizon.

It should be good news for Kendra that a dark grey cloud appeared. Because dark grey clouds carry rain most of the time, and rain is water, which is the weakness of fire. And with the help of the natural rain, it will get rid of any campfires in the wilderness of the Greenfield.

But the problem is, storms don't move as fast as they do on land than in the sea. Based on Kendra's calculation, the storm will probably arrive in a week.

Kendra narrowed her eyes. The opportunity is there, and yet, it's like Kendra is being made to wait to grab and hold it. [As if I would wait…] Kendra thought.

Instantly, Kendra's eyes lit up as an idea flashed through her mind, and immediately, Kendra manipulated her wind attribute mana as she started chanting an invocation wind skill, which is called Habagat Chant; an S-Tier wind skill.

Habagat Chant is a type of wind mana manipulation under Invocation Magic Formation, and this wind mana manipulation increases the intensity of the wind course.

Usually, Kendra prefers to use Manifestation Magic.

However, when Kendra is using a large amount of mana, Kendra prefers to play it safe with the Invocation Magic. Because accuracy is the key, and the most important thing, when channelling more than half of one's own mana.

On other hand, if Kendra used Manifestation Magic; there is a high percentage that Kendra might lose control of the accuracy in channeling her mana, which might result in all of her mana being used.

And having no mana left inside the body would instantly kill any individual. Even if that individual is Kendra.

Moreover, by using Invocation Magic, the user does not need to gauge when to stop channelling mana anymore. Because the accurate control of the mana already lies on the chant itself. And with the help of this Habagat Chant, Kendra can now grab and hold the opportunity in front of her.

"Spirit of wind, bring to me those dark clouds, with tempest and storm, gale of winds that strongly blows, hear my whispering voice and wield half of my power to grant my desires," Kendra mumbles faintly, staring at the dark grey clouds.

As soon as Kendra finished reciting; the gentle gust of the wind, bit by bit, whistled violently, making the tall trees bend and sway to its powerful course.

And being pushed by the strong gale of the wind, the advancing greyish thick cloud progresses to move even faster.

When the dark grey cloud reached the wilderness of Greenfield, Kendra awaited the shower of rain.

Boom!

The loud thunder clap reverberated, and with that, the rain fell one by one, dripping onto the plants and trees and onto the ground with a loud pitter-pattering echo in the cold air.

Little by little, the lights from the campfires all faded one by one.

Seeing those lights of fire disappear; Kendra raised her lips, chuckling to herself. Because Kendra can finally continue with her plans.

With the disappearance of the campfires; Kendra could finally relax as she released a sigh of relief. Now, Kendra has two options in this situation. Kendra could either continue with the initial plan or just go with the original plan.

The original plan is for Kendra to capture a fire type monster alive and alone; by herself.

On the other hand, the initial plan is to ask her teammates to help her hunt a fire type monster. And by implementing this plan, Kendra is also building her trap for her preys, making them think that Kendra is weak in hunting and not in fire itself.

But Lilith has already made a move, inviting Kendra. Which means that Kendra no longer needs to continue the initial plan here. The black letter, inside Kendra's red coat pocket, can be used to join and infiltrate Lilith and Zelda's Black Ravens Faction.

Even if Lilith takes back her word; Kendra knows that, as long as she has the invitation letter, then Kendra could join Black Ravens anytime. In other words, Kendra no longer needs to continue to bait Lilith, and Kendra can just focus on the competition for the meantime.

However, if Kendra goes with the original plan, Lilith and Zelda might start acting vigilant towards her.

At these complicated thoughts, Kendra pursed her lips, weighing her options as the intense rain drenched her from head to toe. While Kendra is pondering with herself, a scream echoed in her ears through the strong whistle of the wind.

The scream sounded faint and distant. Which means that the scream is probably coming from a far away distance somewhere on the west.

If Kendra did not have a pair of keen ears; Kendra probably wouldn't be able to discern that faint scream as a scream. Kendra looks down on the ground with narrowed eyes, ignoring the faint scream resounding in her ears.

It's not like Kendra does not want to help. But right now, they are still currently in a competition.

Kendra can't act suspiciously, because they are being watched live in this competition. And if Kendra displayed her true powers here now; it would alert her preys and make them vigilant towards Kendra.

Then Kendra's plan will become futile, and her efforts of building a trap for her enemies will be in vain.

With a ruthless heart, Kendra stood up from the ground as she decided to go with the initial plan. Kendra walked to the east, thinking how to find Emilia, because Emilia's trails have already disappeared by the intense wind and rain.

"Help…somebody…!"

These faint echoes of screams immediately made Kendra stop moving, but Kendra soon resumed to walk to the east. As Kendra walked, she saw a bird's nest on a nearby tree.

Slowly, Kendra stopped as she stared, looking up on the mother bird, who was spreading her wings to shelter and protect her eggs from the rain.

Kendra's pale pinkish lips pressed together, narrowing her eyes on the ground, feeling a sense of loss in her heart for some reason. Kendra doesn't want to sabotage herself. But Kendra's ultimate goal is to seek justice and peace.

And what is justice, if Kendra would just ignore the weak? What is peace, if Kendra ignores this faint scream asking for help? Isn't her goal in the first place was for the people?

For Kendra to help the weak, that is Kendra's goal.

In other words, if Kendra turns her back on this faint scream of help. Whether this turns out to be a major or minor thing. In the end, it would mean that Kendra had already lost the war before the battle even started.

Kendra swallowed hard as she realized this important matter in her heart. It seems that because of her deep hatred; Kendra has lost sight of her vision as she became blinded with her selfish goal of revenge.

Kendra pursed her lips, frowning deeply.

If Kendra didn't see the mother bird, Kendra probably wouldn't realise this. And with that, Kendra collected twigs and large leaves. After collecting the twigs, Kendra went back to the tree where the nest is.

In one leaf of her feet, Kendra jumps up directly from the ground to the three story floor of the tree. She took a foothold on the branch where the nest is.

After that, Kendra built a mini shelter on top of the nest, so the mother bird will also not get sick. After all, this rain was caused by Kendra, and she must take responsibility for it.

The mother bird chirps as if thanking Kendra.

Kendra nodded and she smiled softly, and afterwards, Kendra jumped down smoothly on the ground. Kendra took a deep breath, closing her eyes. And when her eyelids burst open, Kendra's ocean blue eyes look bright and clear.

"This is the last time," Kendra mumbles to herself in a scolding tone.

Kendra realises that it is also her responsibility to help the weak, and up to now, Kendra is doing nothing of that sort but scheme like that scumbag princess. And Kendra is doing things the wrong way, which is a grave mistake.

With narrowed eyes, Kendra raised her hands, slapping hard both of her cheeks with her palms. Kendra's milky white skin around her cheeks reddened from the impact.

And without the slightest of hesitation, Kendra turned around as she started running in full power to the west direction of the Greenfield.

This time, Kendra will not ignore someone or anyone asking for help. Even if that someone is a stranger to Kendra. And even if it means exposing herself to the enemies. Kendra will never again repeat this mistake. From this moment onwards, Kendra will do things the right way.

Meanwhile, on the Grand Stadium where many upperclassmen students are watching. Everyone is shocked and surprised to see one first year student display incredible speed.

Especially Lilith and Zelda. However, what they have in mind are different from the others. They are indeed shocked, but not for the same reason that the others have.

These two, Lilith and Zelda, discovered crucial information, which is that Kendra is probably the same as them. A soul that came from the future.

Lilith glared menacingly at the huge screen, watching Kendra run so fast than Kendra did earlier. If Kendra was indeed like them, then it means Kendra purposely hid her powers.

And Lilith fell for it like an idiot. Lilith gritted her teeth hard as she remembered that she just sent a black letter to Kendra. "Fuck it," Lilith whispered to herself angrily. "That bitch dares to fool me…?!"

On the other hand, Zelda stared calmly at the screen, but deep inside, Zelda felt troubled how to approach this Kendra from now on.

Fortunately, Zelda works silently on the shadows in manipulating Cliopatra. Which means that Kendra shouldn't know that it was Zelda who instigated Kendra's downfall to happen.

This also means that Zelda can still approach Kendra, but the problem is, this Kendra is now probably more on guard. Zelda clicked her tongue. "Tsk, so troublesome…"

However, no matter what these two are thinking, they still don't have evidence to support this theory. After some time of pondering, Lilith and Zelda finally calmed down as they glanced at each other at the same time.

Lilith seats with the senior students. And Zelda is with the sophomores.

As soon as these two met eye contact, they both simultaneously nodded at each other, then both of them stood up, leaving the Grand Stadium.

They both reach the same conclusion, and that is, to report this matter to their Chief Sitan.
