Sprinting down the stairs of the facility; Kendra walked and ran in a haste. The moment Zelda and Lilith left the restroom, Kendra left hurriedly as she jogged her way to the Department of Administration.
After a while, Kendra stood in front of the counter, inhaling sharply, releasing deep sighs as she plastered a polite and amiable smile at the dumbfounded stoic face of the lady in charge.
The green coated lady raises her eyebrow at Kendra. "To what do I owe this visit?"
Kendra raises her index finger as she answers. "Just…*haaah*...give me one moment," she breathed out, taking a deep breath as she continued to add with a smile, "...please."
The green coated lady didn't respond, pursing her lips; only gazing with a stern raised eyebrow at Kendra.
After calming her heart rate, Kendra's breathing returned to normal. At that, she fixed her posture, becoming her usual elegant self again.
"Good morning lady, I wish to drop some subjects of mine and replace them with my original course," Kendra stated.
The green coated lady then stood up, walking to the shelf behind her, grabbing a thick large pile of binded papers. "Here," the woman said with attitude, dropping the heavy bind of papers on top of the counter. "Change them yourself."
Despite the snarky attitude of the other party, Kendra only smiled pleasantly. "Thank you, kind lady," said Kendra, grabbing a quill and opening the cover of the bind.
The green coated lady only hum, concentrating her eyes on the pile of papers on top of her desk, ignoring Kendra's existence in her office.
At that, Kendra then went to search for her name on the list. Decisively dropping her subjects in all of the sophomore class, junior class, and senior class, leaving only freshman courses in her schedule.
Kendra decided to remove those classes because of Zelda and Lilith. Zelda is currently a sophomore student. Lilith, on the other hand, is a senior student. Kendra also erased her junior class from her schedule; this is all in order to not make Zelda and Lilith discover that she also time travelled like them.
After that, Kendra then added the original classes she had taken from the original timeline. When Kendra finishes changing her schedule, she thanked the green coated lady again then she finally left, going to the library.
After all, according to her new schedule, her next class will start an hour later. Which means that at the present time, Kendra's schedule is vacant.
So Kendra decided to spend her free time researching. If possible, Kendra only wants to kill Zelda now, but she can't yet.
If she does that; then it will not only answer the mysteries in her head, but it will also alert the other cult members that might be lurking in the shadows of the academy or possibly in the whole kingdom; Kendra is not even sure just how many cult members have already managed to infiltrate their land.
This is why Kendra wanted to change the system of this rotting empire. The king and his army are too complacent, letting whoever inside the wall.
This is not fine and it's gravely dangerous for her fellow people. So Kendra decided to postpone her plans of recruitment for the rebellion. Because it seems that she needs to prioritise the invading cult members into their land.
Anyway, Kendra is not in a rush to look for potential applicants in the first place, and that's why she decided to prepare against the cult members first. As much as she wants to investigate now and kill Zelda, Kendra decided to control her emotions and choose to do something more rational.
These two are dangerous, and Kendra can't just straight up approach them without any preparation. Based on the conversation of those two in the restroom; once Lilith and Zelda discover that Kendra also returns to the past; these two will for sure not hesitate to expose their identity just to kill her.
Kendra doesn't know what they mean by her being a light-bringer, but it seems that it was also the same reason why she always gets into accidents in her timeline. During the time Kendra is still in her original time; cult members always for some reason have pursued after her, and now, she finally understood the reason. Which is why Kendra wants to research about these cult members, so she could understand better what they want from her; aside from taking her life.
After a while, Kendra arrives in the library, which only has fewer students than the last time she went there. Probably because most students in the academy are still in class, so only those with the vacant schedule would wander here.
At that, Kendra then strode her legs to the shelves where books about philosophy, religion, and history are piled in a neat order.
Taking a bunch of books about the cult members, Kendra went to an empty table nearby, putting the things on her arms on top of the wooden table.
Pulling the chair, Kendra then sat after it, grabbing a book as she started reading in silence. After some time, Kendra finished all the books she got, but Kendra couldn't find any explanations about what a lightbringer is.
Sighing, Kendra then went to return all the books to shelves, piling them back to where they belong. One by one, she placed the books back inside the shelves, and while doing so, a grey haired woman with a white knee-length coat came walking in with a searching gaze on the shelves.
As Kendra stared more at the grey haired woman, it came to her as she remembered; this woman is Aggie Hemlock; one of the famous mysterious instructors in Mystic Academy. Aggie is popular for being a master of both poison and disease; the grey haired woman is a senior instructor, and she only teaches omegas for some reason.
Back in Kendra's timeline, she heard rumors about Aggie Hemlock; that despite of this instructor's senile appearance, Aggie could still win against the strongest alpha instructors with ease. As for how, Kendra doesn't know. After all, before Kendra even had the chance to learn under this instructor back in her original time, Aggie Hemlock resigned as an instructor.
"Now, now, where did I last see them?" The grey haired woman said, then her eyes went to the book that Kendra was holding. "Oh there it is."
Kendra then gazes down at the history book she was holding, then she turns to look at the grey haired woman again. "Are you looking for this, professor?"
"Oh, oh, indeed, may I borrow it, student…" the grey haired woman trailed, tilting her head to the side in wonder. "Pardon, your name is…?"
"Kendra Salamanca, professor," said Kendra, plastering an amiable smile, then she handed the book to the grey haired woman. "You can have this, professor. I already read them anyway."
The grey haired woman accepted with a delightful smile. "Oh, oh, thank you, student…uh…your name…?"
Kendra remained smiling as she reminded the forgetful woman. "Kendra, professor."
"Oh, oh, right." The grey haired woman nodded thoughtfully, then she smiled. "Thank you student…Kendra, I'm Aggie Hemlock, one of the oldest instructors in the academy. I have been searching for this history book for quite some time, but my ageing sight has been making it difficult for me these past few years. Fortunately today, luck favours my side."
At that, the grey haired woman let out a loud sigh. "Time is taking a toll on my ageing body after all, oh…to be young again," Aggie murmured to herself, then she turned to Kendra. "Well then, thank you student…uh…"
"Kendra, professor," reminded Kendra once more, smiling with great patience.
"Oh oh, Kendra, thank you Kendra," Aggie replied then she turned around, walking very very slowly with her hunchback. "Then I'll be going on my way now, I hope to see you around student…uh…Kendra."
Kendra only nodded respectfully in response, watching the grey haired woman leave as she fell deep in thoughts.
However, seeing Aggie having a hard time to descend down the stairs, Kendra then approaches the grey haired woman.
"Professor, let me help you," Kendra said, supporting the grey haired woman.
"Oh, oh, thank you uh…Kendra, as I thought, you really are a nice child," Aggie mumbled, plastering a kind smile.
Kendra shook her head. "Anyone would do the same if they were in my position," she said.
"Not just anyone, but only those with a soft heart," the grey haired woman argued.
Kendra nodded her head humbly; not daring to refute the elder next to her.
"Anyway, since you're already helping me, can you accompany me back to my laboratory? You see, student…uh, Kendra, there is another matter that I need help with, would you be so kind to help? And oh oh, don't worry, I'll reward you in return for your good deeds. Well, what do you say, uh…Kendra?"
The edge of her lips raised as she heard this, smiling slyly, but it soon disappeared in the blink of an eye. Kendra then nodded her head politely at the grey haired woman. "As long as it is within my ability, professor, I won't mind helping."
The grey haired woman's eyes lit up, blooming her face with satisfaction. "Ah, bless you, such a kind child, you are…uh…Kendra."
