Chapter 24 - Pretty cute and weird.

Kendra discreetly led Nasrin out of the academy's invincible field of protection barrier. It's an invincible shield that prevents monsters from invading the domains of the academy.

After they left the field of the shield area, Kendra observed Nasrin's reaction carefully.

Nasrin still looks haggard, but her light brown eyes are still full of vitality, looking ahead with clear optimistic eyes.

Kendra frowns on this naive ignorant version of Nasrin. She felt that this person is too relaxed and vulnerable, but despite having complicated thoughts, Kendra still didn't stop leading Nasrin out of the field of the shield area. She wanted to test whether Nasrin is being truthful with her.

Even though she already noticed so many signs, Kendra still felt dubious and doesn't believe that this is not the Nasrin she knew. Kendra needs to ascertain and confirm the truth, and for that reason, she brought Nasrin to the forest and led her out of the shield area.

Behind the bushes, trees, and huge rocks are monsters; hiding and waiting for the perfect opportune time to ambush the two of them. However, these monsters are afraid from the aura that Kendra is sending out.

Whether Nasrin is acting or not, there is only one way to find that out.

Life and death situations can make anyone reveal their truest self, and for that reason, Kendra will make use of these monsters to test Nasrin. Kendra would force Nasrin into a situation, where Nasrin would be forced to use some kind of ability that resembles the Nasrin she knew in order to save her life.

Slowly, Kendra retracted her own aura that Nasrin doesn't seem to sense based on her reaction. However, for Kendra, this isn't enough to prove Nasrin's innocence.

Who knows? Nasrin might be pretending to be weak, so Nasrin could strike at her when she lets her guard down, right?

People can think of her whatever they want, but Kendra won't feel remorse; nor regret it; for what she is doing is all for the sake of preventing what she knew might happen in the future.

If getting her palms a little dirty would do the work then Kendra would gladly sacrifice her innocence, her morality, and her principles. These things would not save the lives of her people. In those memories, people always protected her because she was weak, and it made people sacrifice their life for her.

Kendra can't let that happen again. She will not let this Nasrin harass her again and make her suffer. That arrogant Nasrin killed her friend, her family, and everyone important to her.

People may think of her as evil, but Kendra believes that she is saving many innocent lives from dying. She is doing this to prevent everyone important to her from dying in Nasrin's hands again.

Kendra can't afford to wait and see, she needs to test Nasrin now and ascertain the truth.

Kendra no longer cares whether this thing she is doing is good or wrong. She had become insane and crazy after returning back to the past. What she experiences is not something a normal human can go through. One way or another it would make a sane person go crazy in the head.

So after retracting her aura, Kendra detected that the monsters around have started slowly making their way near them.

Kendra glances beside her, and Nasrin still has the same expression on her face. Still naive and ignorant. Different from the arrogant Nasrin in those memories.

Nasrin continued to walk beside Kendra without any hesitation, no fear, and still had those bright optimistic light brown eyes.

Kendra squinted her eyes as her lips raised to a sly smirk, but it soon disappeared as she plastered a harmless smile on her face.

"Nasrin," she called in a pleasant voice.

Nasrin glanced at Kendra attentively and said, "hmm, what is it?"

"I need to wee-wee, can you wait here for me here?" Kendra said shyly, tucking her platinum blonde hair behind her ears.

Nasrin nodded her head understandably and said, "sure, do you want me to guard you?"

"No need," Kendra said, shaking her head.

"Alright, take your time and be careful, call me if you need help," Nasrin said as she sat down next to a tree. "I'll wait for you here while reading," she added.

Nasrin took out the grade 1 book again and started reading. Kendra left and went to hide somewhere in the distance. Her ocean eyes watch Nasrin, who sat alone leaning her back to the trunk of the tree.

Kendra noticed a monster slowly making its way to the oblivious Nasrin. Meanwhile, Nasrin, who had her eyes concentrated on the book, is unaware of the approaching monster.

The first monster that approached Nasrin was a red rabbit. At first glance, a red rabbit may appear harmless, but all red rabbits have a nasty temper making them troublesome if underestimated.

Moreover, every red rabbit had two poisonous horns on their forehead.

If that horn pokes an individual's skin, the poison will slowly spread in the inside of an individual's body, making it a slow painful death for that individual if not treated fast.

Kendra anticipates in the distance as she lets things unfold. This would be the moment where Nasrin will be forced to show her true colours.

With cold eyes, Kendra narrowed her eyelids as she waited for the red rabbit to attack Nasrin.

Slowly, the red rabbit jumped up and down approaching Nasrin. Its red ruby eyes gaze on the silent Nasrin who doesn't seem to notice anything in her surroundings.

Tilting its small head to the side as if curious of the oblivious Nasrin; the red rabbit started circling around Nasrin, then it stopped. Suddenly, the red rabbit suddenly jumped in front of Nasrin.

Startled, Nasrin widens her eyes in surprise as her mouth hangs open, however, her expression soon changes in delight as she smiles excitedly.

"Oh, a rabbit! So cute and weird~" Nasrin cooed as she petted the red rabbit.

The red rabbit purred and flopped down next to Nasrin.

Nasrin grinned from ear to ear, caressing the red rabbit's fur softly. "Since you have red furs and red eyes then you should be called Pula from now on, how about that Pula?" said Nasrin, stroking the red rabbit on its bunny ears.

Pula seemed to like it as it purred to Nasrin.

After a while of petting, the red rabbit places its chin on Nasrin's hand, claiming Nasrin as her master. However, Nasrin seems to be unaware of this as she continues to play with Pula happily.

Nasrin hummed as she continued to pet the red rabbit more. "Sorry Pula, I need to study this book, I'll pet you again later, okay?" Nasrin said to the red rabbit, then she took the book again and started concentrating on reading.

The red rabbit blinked but still flopped down to Nasrin's lap.

Kendra watches the scene flabbergasted. It was her first time seeing a human and a monster in a harmonious relationship. She thought that the red rabbit would attack Nasrin, but she was soon proven to be wrong.

[What wonders does this weird Nasrin have to be able to tame a red rabbit so easily?]

Kendra still couldn't believe what just happened as her brows furrowed together in disbelief.

[How is that possible?] Kendra questioned herself in her thoughts.

Red rabbits may appear harmless, but in reality, red rabbits are one of the hardest types of monster to tame. Red rabbits are always hostile to people and have a nasty aloof temper. They attack any individual who tries to approach and tame them.

Yet, that weird Nasrin just tamed the red rabbit like nothing. Even a master tamer had a hard time taming a red rabbit, but this weird naive ignorant Nasrin easily did it.

Just who is this person? Why does she have the same face and body like that arrogant Nasrin?

As Kendra continued to observe this weird Nasrin, she felt more confused and curious as to who this weird person really is.

Slowly, this Nasrin in the distance appeared more adorable in Kendra's eyes.

[Pretty cute and weird.] Kendra thought as her lips curved, watching amusedly from the distance.
