When Maeve opened her eyes, her wrists burning, she saw, despite her blurry vision, that she was in a Victorian - style living room, with visibly expensive decoration. As her vision returned to normal, she took better and better detail of the room, searching for escape routes. Then, lowering her head, she discovered that she was tied to a chair with ropes visibly soaked in dark magic. Growling, she tried to tug on it, but to no avail: she still hadn't regained her full strength. Suddenly, footsteps were heard, and trying to keep calm, Maeve did the first thing she had been taught: play dead. Better they still think she's asleep, no matter why they brought her here. As she closed her eyes, the door opened, and two people came in talking:
- Are you sure it was her?
- Absolutely, it was the power of Solas, I'm sure.
The latter, a lion shapeshifter according to his scent, took the young woman's chin between his thumb and forefinger, and lifted it while the other, a vampire, growled:
- So if she's that strong, why is she still unconscious?
The tension in the room increased, making it seem like an explosion was going to happen any moment. The shifter growled back:
- If you had been on the ground, Lionel, for once, you could have seen that the energy she spent on this beach could have killed anyone.
- If I had been on this beach, Garrett, it's because I would have gotten you fired.
She barely held back a laugh at the pike, but snapped her eyes open when a resounding slap landed on her cheek. Garret, a blond with blue eyes, looked at her with a smirk on his lips, while Lionel, a brunette with purple eyes, like her, smiled in turn:
- Not so sleepy as that, bastard.
Maeve made herself as comfortable as possible, giving them her most dazzling smile:
- Ok, ok, you got me. Now, gentlemen, may I know what I'm doing here?
His strength was slowly returning to him, and had almost regained his full potential. She prayed inwardly, "We're almost there, just a little bit more..." The vampire gave her another smile, but this one was chilling, as he huffed.
- Because, the hybrid, I wanted to see the head of my sister's offspring when she breathed her last.
The young panther widened her eyes, but pushed the information away in a corner of her brain for later, refusing to be distracted at such a critical moment. Suddenly, she felt the last drop of her power returning, and before either of her two kidnappers could react, she unleashed her power, flooding the room with its purple light for a moment, causing her to close her eyes for a moment. She felt herself fall to the floor, and when she opened her eyes again, everything in the room had been destroyed, including the two men, whose smoking carcasses lay on the floor. Rising, dusting off her ash-covered outfit, she stepped over Garret's corpse to bend over Lionel's. And to think that this man had been her mother's brother. Her uncle . She barely remembered him except for the constant arguments he had with Cara. Gritting her teeth, her breath short from all the energy expended, she turned away from the bodies, and slowly approached the door. Luckily for her, her power was relatively quiet, so it didn't attract people. She opened the door carefully, and discovered an empty corridor, in which she engaged discreetly. She passed a few guards, whom she silently slaughtered, then stretched out behind a piece of furniture, before finally arriving at her destination: the tomb of her other deceased, and deranged uncle. The body of the demigod was exposed in a crystal coffin, but one could see tubes filled with blood coming and going outside his body. Taking it upon herself not to let the anger overwhelm her, she unleashed her power again in the room. Once her light went out, she discovered that Sage's body was missing, and she understood. If He had hated his brothers and sisters and their descendants so much, it was because he himself had no power, unlike the lineage of his brother and sister, who were known to be powerful. Sensing that it was finally time, Maeve left the manor where she had been kept prisoner, setting fire in her path. Once she was outside, she watched silently, with a smile on her face, the mansion, the league and all the followers burning in her purple fire. Once all was reduced to ashes, She turned, and returned to the palace, where she found Gabriel in the midst of the guards, giving orders:
- You search the surroundings, all the places where she could have gone, until you find her, understood? No excuses, no exceptions. Find her.
Trembling, feeling her strength abandon her, she breathed:
- Princeling?
The last thing she saw before she fell unconscious was Gabriel, running towards her.
- princeling ?
Gabriel felt his blood run cold when he saw Maeve standing there , as pale as if she was at the brink of the death , covered in ashes . he didn't thought about the fact the he was a prince ,, or that he was forbidden to run nor that having a fiancee , he shouldn't bee seen with another girl in his arms as he rushed to Maeve , wrapping his arms around her body and screaming for help . It has been hours since she disapeard , and he felt like he had been going crazy . He knew his bodyguard had had her reasons , but now that she was in his arms , unconscious , bruised , covered in ashes as if she had been inside a freaking fire , he couldn't help but being horribly anxious . he thightened his grip on her , feeling like she was going to vanish at any moment if he did so , and kissed her elbow , so thankful to have her in his arms .
