After a few days Grandma finally left back to her shrine and I decided it would be a good time to spend some time individually with each of the woman who have been selected for my by my Grandparents.
I decided to start with the Vampire woman Illya Dracul. I know nothing about her at the moment except she is a Vampire and from the Dracul clan who has supported my Grandfather for centuries as Archdukes serving the King.
Currently I am sitting inside of the library on the second floor of the castle. I decided this would be the best place for meeting Illya as Vampires tend to be quite intellectual, the complete anesthetist of the Werewolves who only like combat.
I am reading a book about souls, so as to deepen my understanding even a little bit. Five minutes later Illya arrives in the Library and sits across from me. She is truly a beauty. With a slight smile on her lips she waits for me to initiate a conversation.
"Welcome Illya, thank you for taking some time out of your day to meet me" I say as I gaze and her while putting the book to the side.
"Thank you for the invitation. I was not busy, I have just been reading up on the academy and look at class options. What is the purpose of this meeting if I may ask?" True to Vampire culture she replies in a formal manner befitting the status of subordinate and master.
"Please speak informally here. Truth be told I wished to get to know more about you. So I figured we could have a bit of a q&a session if you will."
"Certainly please ask away."
"Hmm what should we start with, oh I know something simple what are your hobbies. What do you fill your spare time with?"
"Hobbies huh. Hmm truth be told I spent a good portion of my life training and studying, so if i had to say anything it would be reading."
"Oh reading, good what sort of books are you interested in reading at the moment then?"
As soon as I asked that question Illya blushed a little bit at looked away from me seemingly embarrassed about something. After a few more seconds she finally replied.
"Um its a bit embarrassing but um I-i like manga."
Thinking I would berate her or laugh at her she closed her eyes waiting for it but it never came.
"Oh manga, good good. What are you reading at the moment? I myself am currently engrossed in anything related to transmigration."
As I answered Illya looked at me with a shocked expression wondering if she had heard correctly or not.
"By the look on your face is rather shocked. Well you know just because of who I am doesn't mean I don't enjoy 'culture'. I am assuming someone has laughed at you for your hobby before yes?"
Coming out of her reverie Illya finally managed to push the words out of her throat.
"You like manga too Tsuki?"
"Hmm yes I am quite an avid lover of manga to be quite honest. My Grandparents would buy them all the time for me. Hmm actually come with me I will show you something to make you understand."
Getting up and walking out the exit of the library with Illya in tow. We arrive across the hallway where the door to the entertainment room. Opening the door and revealing the interior Illya's jaw drops to the ground when her line of sight make contact with the bookshelf filled with thousands of the manga.
"This is the entertainment room my Grandparents built me. Just so you know I had no input in the castle at all this was entirely their doing. Anyway they moved my whole collection here and also bought all the new series currently released feel free to use them as you wish. Just please don't take them out of the room"
Without even answering me Illya walks over to the shelf as if she is in a trance to the bookshelf and starts scanning all the titles.
I walk over to the couch and sit down and observe Illya for about five minutes then call Lucy to bring us some tea and snacks.
Once the tea arrives, Illya comes out of her daze and sits down across from me.
"I apologize for my actions just now."
Its clear that she is highly embarrassed as her face is again bright red.
"Mmm pay it no mind. So its safe to assume its more than just a hobby for you is it." I say with a smirk on my face as if to make her feel more embarrassed.
"Hahahah your reactions are great. Well that aside I am glad we have something in common."
"That's just mean." Shes says rather cutely.
"Well I can understand this is something you wanted to keep hidden. Vampire families are very strict when raising their children given the low birth rate. So its not uncommon to see rather strict upbringing with heavy restrictions. But this is not your family's home and in the case your become my wife you will join my family I have no desire to restrict your actions. So be yourself."
We continued some light chatter of tea. Talking about manga. Our favorite titles character and even talked about anime.
Feeling the conversation become a bit slow I decide to ask her a more serious question.
"So Illya Dracul, what are you goals in life? What do you aspire to be? Where do you see yourself in fifty years time?"
