(Artoria PoV)
The days pass by and since I'm not counting. I have no idea how many passed. But I know for sure it's been over a week. Brother Kel has been counting for me, so I don't have to.
Every day is monotonous. The same routine day after day.
There are only two positive things. The first is that I have been regaining my memories bit by bit. Remembering bits and pieces every day. I still have a long way to go, but atleast I started remembering again.
As expected, my power also grows every time I remember something. I also remembered that I can use ice. It's weak right now, but it's only a matter of time before it becomes stronger.
The second positive thing is my new best buddy Jorgen. After the first time I met him, I started to talk to him repeatedly.
As usual, he still ignored me, but unlike the first time, where I just stared at him. The subsequent interactions I had with him, I just talked whatever bullshit I could come up with. It didn't matter if he didn't respond, I just kept talking for my own amusement.
Little by little I got the big guy to talk to me. He is still arrogant and difficult to talk to, but I feel like he no longer sees me as one of the masses, with indifference.
I also learned that Jorgen is much stronger than me. This is interesting, since I remember Deas being the only superpowered individuals in the world. But now a man is more powerful than a Dea? What is going on here.
Now in addition to fucking around with him, I started to observe him to understand the reason for his strength. It would be best to just ask him, but he won't respond to the question.
"Oi. Answer the damn question." I kick him repeatedly, with annoyance.
We're sitting on the canteen table and eating dinner. As usual Jorgen is being cryptically slow to respond to me. I have mostly gotten used to it, but I still get annoyed sometimes.
He looks at his leg, that is being repeatedly kicked by me, under the table. He doesn't even make a face at my actions. It's as if he considers this as some sort of footplay, instead of a strike.
"How can I answer when I cannot understand the question Artoria." He looks at me and responds.
"Tch." I stop kicking him and go back to eat my food. Even though I have gotten bits and pieces of my power back, he is still stronger than me. Just how strong is this dude?!
"He should be around 20% of your prime strength..." Kel edjucates me, while sitting next to me.
I respond to him with a nod, since I don't want to respond out loud. Being crazy is one thing. Showing that you're crazy is voluntary.
It's not like Kel's answer satisfies me. Since I have no idea how strong I am in my prime. But I assume that means he's very strong. Just how did this guy become so powerful?
We soon finish eating and head to the leisure area that we can access during the evening. We sit down on a random couch that Jorgen picked and look at a TV, that is showing the news.
"Ah!" Jorgen starts. "Since I have decided that you are a worthy person, I will impart this warning to you." Jorgen calmly says as he gazes at me seriously.
"It would do well for you to be careful in your room and of any sudden "check ups" they might give you." He says.
"Hmm? Why?" I ask curiously.
"There is a rumour flying around that the overseers of this place have been known to invite beautiful women to check ups. During which they are raped." He says and continues. "Since you are a beautiful woman, I assume it's only a matter of time that they will call you for a check up."
My expression goes cold. Vicious thoughts start to roam through my mind and unconciously, I start radiating cold.
"I will heed your advice." I say. He nods at my response contently.
We continue to talk for the rest of the leisure time and then return to our rooms.
When I get back, I start my meditation up again and do it until I fall asleep.
....
....
....
Another week passes. Things are much the same. I've grown tired of being imprisoned and my hate of this place is also growing.
*Bzzzzzt*
The buzzer sounds and my room door opens, signaling that it's lunch time. I head to the door and open it, but get greeted with an unexpected sight.
A group of men stare at me when I open the door. I can't help but smirk at the sight. How amusing...
"Did you get lost?" I feign innocence.
It seems they don't desire to chat with me though, as the nearest guy throws a fist, aimed at my chin.
I slip to the right and instantly counter. Impudence! These fuckers think only 5 idiots can take me!
The guys head cocks back as my punch connects and as if he went offline, his legs stop working and he goes down.
The other 4 don't wait and rush at me.
I end up fighting the other 4 in my room. These men also have increased physical abilities. So much so, that they can keep up with me. Where the fuck do they produce these guys?!
Kicks and punches fly all around. They quickly understand that they are being supressed, so they take out knives.
I stay calm and continue to dodge and counter whenever I can, but eventually I end up getting knicked in the forearm. I elbow the culprit in the ribs and get him to stagger back, but when I go to deal with the others, I feel a bit woozy.
It seems the knives are laced with a paralizing toxin.
"Ugh..." I groan as I desperately fight the woozyness and the 4 men.
I have already broken multiple bones, but these guys have terrifying tenacity. It seems that unless I KO them, there isn't much that will slow them down.
The toxins in me violently distort my speed and sensation, making me slow down. Due to this I instantly become vulnerable to attacks.
A massive left hook connects with my head, rocking my vision. Then a kick comes from the other side, taking the remaining conciousness with it.
....
When I open my eyes, I find myself laying down on the ground. Naturally I am confused, so I stand up and look around.
"What is this..." I mumble in suprise. The scenery is incredibly surreal.
I seem to be standing on a floating island. It's covered with snow and has a single, leavless tree in the middle. It continues to snow lightly. It's incredibly quiet and the atmosphere is serene. I can even hear the snow creaking under my feet as I move slightly.
The surroundings of the floating island are even more surreal, it's hard to even describe. Around the floating island is only the sky, which is pale blue in colour and littered with white clouds. The clouds have no form. Some being shaped like simple lines, where as others are shaped like normal clouds.
Aside from that, there is nothing else. Only a single floating island in an endless sky.
I walk over to the edge and peer down, but the same sky greets me. There is no ground below.
After gaining my bearings, I look at the big tree in the middle of the island and walk over to it. The tree looks dead, as if it has gone into winter sleep.
When I walk over to the tree, I spot a flower on the foot of the tree. It's a blue rose. The petals seem to be made of blue ice crystals.
I gaze at the beautiful flower and crouch down to pick it up. When I touch the rose, I can feel the insane amount of cold it emits. The cold doesn't hurt me though.
I pick up the rose and stand up. When I do, a mass of power and memories, along with new information enters my mind.
"I remember now..." I say, just before everything goes white.
