"So, you're saying I have to defeat you, in order to reject you?" I asked.
"Correct, without you, I, myself cannot exist. Considering I don't have an independent existence of my own." Erebus responded.
If you ask me, that's a pretty reasonable reason to fight for, I cannot blame him. Rakshasas and humans are not different, they're both species with survival instinct, which is the same case for me as well.
"But, I have one more question." I said out of nowhere.
"That being?" Erebus asked.
"What if I lost?" I also asked.
"Heh," He chuckled a little before continuing, "Well, if you lost, you would let me take control over your consciousness. Meaning, you'll die on the spot."
That's a heavy price for losing- although, I cannot hold back now, not at this point. Fine whatsoever, if I lost then I lost. If I win then I win. That's it, I'm completely okay with it, but there's no way I'm losing to this rakshasa, regardless of whoever they are.
"Accepted. Let's go, Erebus." Said it in a heroic manner.
"Alright then, Cendrilas Rohiz, prepare to meet your demise. This is the battle in which both of our existence is in line." Stating that Erebus' nails grew longer, almost looking like a black-katana.
I see it now, he can extend his nails at his will and shrink it back like a Felis catus, unlike me. Without wasting a split second, I activated my rakshasa arm.
With a devilish smirk present on his face, he sprinted towards me at speed which nearly rendered him invisible; blinding speed.
As soon as he covered some distance; reaching closer to me, I observed his actions and saw that he was unleashing a downward slash in order to slice me in half. However, thanks to my swift reaction, I successfully evaded it by dashing in the right direction at the last moment.
Now's the chance!
Erebus was completely off guard, seeing that I had an opportunity to land an attack, I attempted to swing my rakshasa's arm downwards; unleashing a straightforward slash as well. However, to my surprise, Erebus just gave a slight smirk and swiftly turned towards me and used his own nails to offensively block my attack; resulting in my motion being limited.
"What-!" I exclaimed after viewing that scenario.
"Too slow!" Erebus exclaimed in a high volume and pushed me away using the same nails, leaving me in a defenceless position.
Taking advantage of my unstable position, Erebus horizontally swung his left arm at the ridiculous speed of breaking sound, which I could have reacted to, but unfortunately, I was defenceless.
The attack successfully landed and ended up giving me four simultaneous scars on my chest and abdomen. I immediately bled out and took some steps back.
"Ack-!" I threw out some blood from my mouth.
The ground which was once black, was now painted crimson red with my blood, pouring out of my scars like a mini fountain. My eyes were widened, I looked at my left hand and then glanced at my chest/abdomen. I had huge scars on them, blood was slowly pouring out of them.
But how did that happen..? Why am I feeling much weaker than before?
Whilst I was thinking, Erebus laughed at me and stated,
"Judging by your facial expressions, it looks like you have noticed! Without me, your physical characteristics are equivalent to a normal human. But since you're a Brahman, your physique is slightly superior to normal individuals. Tell me, Cendrilas Rohiz, will you give up or not? You have zero chance against me." Erebus said, attempting to discourage me.
If what he's saying was right, and even if I'm nothing without my superhuman characteristics. I cannot give myself up to someone like him. I'll die, but with glory. I won't just stand here, doing nothing, I'm a hero, remember. Though, I think I still have one way to turn the table upside down, regardless of how much damage I've taken.
I formed a smile using my lips.
"Nice try, but I'm not someone you can discourage so easily."
After that, I paused before exclaiming in a loud volume.
"Try me, Erebus!"
