Gotham City August 7, 2010, 22:00 EDT
Alex, Batman, and Green Arrow have come to Gotham to find the archer who saved Kid Flash. Batman has tracked her and found out who she is, and now we're heading to where she lives with her mother. Alex hasn't been told everything about her but does know her mother is an ex-villain huntress who, after being paralyzed from the waist down and serving six years in prison, has gotten out and lived on disability with her daughter Artemis, who they're looking for. After coming to the apartment and talking to Paula Crock, who was worried about her daughter and begged us not to take her, after we explained we were there to recruit Artemis, she calmed down and waited for her to get back as Batman told us she was running around the city.
After almost forty-five minutes, Batman tells us she's back in her room, so her mother calls her out.
"Just a minute, "Artemis calls out, and when she does come out, she's wearing a robe. When she looks out, she sees Batman standing by a sitting Green Arrow and Alex dressed in his Akuma Kira costume.
"Batman, Green Arrow?" Artemis is shocked to see them completely ignoring Alex, and then, looking at her mom, she yells. "Mom, what did you do?"
"We're here for you, "Batman tells her.
"We know what you've been up to, Artemis, "Green Arrow tells her.
"Well, if you want me to stop, you can..." Artemis starts to tell Alex when he interrupts her.
"We're not here to stop you after you saved Kid Flash." I asked that they find you to recruit for the team you saw."
"What, wait, who are you? I didn't see you when I was there." Artemis was confused and then asked Alex.
"I was outside dealing with a horde of those monqi; the ones that attacked you were the last ones," Alex tells her.
"We think you can be a hero, so with permission from your mother, we would like you to join." Green Arrow
"You have my permission," Paula says.
"One condition is that you don't tell the rest of the team about my family," Artemis tells them while Alex sees Paula looking hurt by her daughter's words.
"Your private life is your business, "Batman tells her.
"But you shouldn't hurt your mother like that; yes, she was wrong to do what she did in the past, but she paid the price." Alex tells Artemis, walking over to Paula. "And you have paid a price more than most." Alex says, pointing at her in the wheelchair.
"I don't want the team to know and think I'll become evil one day and not accept me." Artemis says, holding herself and looking down in shame. "But I will join the team." She said, looking up determined.
"Well, Paula, with her joining the team, I should help her and her family from now on, "Alex tells them as he holds Paula's hand using healing and restoration.
With a feeling, Paula looks at her legs and starts to feel a fuzzy feeling, and after a minute, Alex tells her to get up, and Paula, who was shocked, was able to take two steps before having to sit down again.
"I healed your legs and muscles, but you'll need to start working on strengthening them," Alex tells a crying Paula and Artemis, who are hugging her.
"Thank you."Both mother and daughter tell him.
"As a teammate, I want you to know you can trust me," Alex says, leaving, and after the others come out, they leave Gotham, Alex to the cave to sleep, and the others to who knows where.
Infinity Island, August 7, 23:49 ECT
Speedy is making his way onto the island, and after knocking out one guard after the other, he makes his way to his objective. A scientist is imprisoned and forced to make a weapon. Breaking down the door, Speedy knocks down the two guards there and tells the scientist, Dr. Serling Roquette, to get up as he shoots an arrow, blowing up the wall. Dr. Serling tells him to take the machine she's working on, but Speedy can only save one, so she chooses herself, and after shooting a zipline, they make their escape under bullet fire and onto a waiting counseled boat and get away.
Back on the island, two figures check the machine, and one says she finished it and shows the other.
Mount Justice August 8, 09:58 EDT
On the beach, the team comes out to enjoy the day.
"Hello Megan, we should hit the beach every day," Megan tells everyone excitedly.
"First, a moment for our fallen comrade," Robin says.
"Poor Wally," Megan says.
Meanwhile, Wally West is stuck on his first day as a sophomore, miserable being there and missing the day at the beach.
Back to the team: they go swimming when Alex asks them if they want to go underwater. Robin says yes, and Superboy says no, so Alex turns Robin into a seal and lets him have fun as Alex turns into a dolphin, Megan transforms to be able to go underwater, and Aquqlad has fun with everyone. After that, they rejoined Superboy to play volleyball, cook hotdogs, and bury him in the sand before going in later.
Mount Justice August 8, 19:50 EDT
Batman called the team in with Red Tornado and Green Arrow, introduced Artemis, and told us why she was joining as the seventh member of the team. When Wally comes in through the zeta tubes, his arms full of things for the beach, he shouts, "The wall man's in the house," before, in his rush, he trips and falls and looks up to see Batman.
"The wall-mna, I like the uniform." Artemis says, causing Wally to look at her confused. "What exactly are your powers?"
"Uh, who's this?" Wally asked.
"Artemis, your new teammate," she introduces herself.
"Kid Flash never heard of you, "Wally tells her, annoyed with her.
"Uh, she's my new protege, "Green Arrow tells Wally.
"What happened to the old one?" "Wally asked, upset thinking about Speedy.
That's when Speedy comes in through a Zata tube, causing everyone to look over.
"Well, for starters, I don't go by Speedy anymore. Call me Red Arrow." Red Arrow tells them.
"Roy, you look." Green Arrow starts saying something when Red Arrow interrupts.
"Replaceable," Roy says, looking over Artemis.
"It's not like that. You told me you were going solo." Green Arrow tells him.
"So why waste time finding a sub? Can she even use that bow?" Roy says this with anger in his voice.
"Yes, she can!" Artemis steps forward and tells him.
"Who are you?" Wally asked her.
"His niece. My niece," both Artemis and Green Arrow say at the same time.
"Another niece?" Robin says, smirking.
"But she is not your replacement," Aqualad says. "We have always wanted you on the team. And we have no quota on archers," he continues saying.
"And if we did, you know who we'd pick, Walsh adds, not happy with Artemis joining the team.
"Whatever, Baywatch, I'm here to stay, "Artemis says, dissing Wally.
"Well, I prefer her to an arrogant sidekick like him, "Alex says, pissing Red Arrow off and about to confront him when Aqualad stops him.
"You came to us for a reason?"Aqualad asked
"Yeah, a reason named Dr. Serling Roquette." Red Arrow says, still looking at Alex, pissed.
"Nanorobotics genius and claytronics expert at Royal University in Star City." Robin irritates her. "Vanished two weeks ago."
"Abducted two weeks ago by the League of Shadows." Red Arrow corrects him.
"Whoa! You want us to rescue her from the shadows?" Robin asks excitedly, and Wally says hardcore.
"I already rescued her." Red Arrow says "There was only one problem: the Shadows had already coerced her into creating a weapon." Red Arrow continues showing the team picture of it. "Doc calls it the fog, comprised of millions of microscopic robots."
Red Arrow then tells the team how they used to steal and destroy information. And how Dr. Serling is making a virus to destroy them.
"Perfect for extortion, manipulation, and power brokering." Artemis adds. "Sounds like the shadows," she says, looking down and thinking of her father, who was part of it once.
"Then that means the shadows are after them, "Robin says.
"They'll target her, "Red Arrow finishes Robin's words. "Right now, she's off the grid. At the local high school." He says this, putting up a hologram picture showing the team.
Green Arrow questions his choices and argues about his new protege, then Batman steps in and holds Green Arrow's shoulder, and huffing, he turns to Red Arrow. "You brought this to the team, and it's their mission now, and right now, she's on the team." He tells Red Arrow.
Huffing, Red Arrow says, "Then my job is done." He walks to the Zata tubes and disappears. Leaving everyone, and Wally glares at Artemis.
Happy Harbor High School August 8, 21:59 EDT
The team is at the high school, standing guard over Dr. Roquette, when Aqualad asks Miss Martian to link our minds to prevent the enemy from using their communications against them. And when everyone is linked, Kid Flash and Artemis start fighting and annoying everyone until Aqualad tells them to stop, and then Alex tells Kid Flash that it was her arrow that saved him, not Red Arrow. Having had enough, Dr. Roquette snaps at Wally, making him shut up.
In the computer room of the high school, Aqualad asked if she could track the weapon.
"It's not a weapon; it's science, brilliant science," she says, annoyed. "And of course I can track it, but I'd have to go online. "You might as well rent a billboard with this address and put "assassinate me" written in neon," she says, throwing her hands up.
"We will protect you, "Aqualad tells her.
"Fine," she says, and after a bit, she finds the fog.
"Hey, I think everyone should go and leave Artemis and me here to guard Dr.," Alex tells Aqualad.
"Do you think you can keep her safe?" Aqualad asked
"Well, my friends and I can do it," Alex says, summoning a group of Ninjakhan.
After some talking, they leave Alex and Artemis there to protect the doctor and then go to take down the fog when the virus is ready. Alex speeds the Ninjakhan through the shadows of the school to watch out for intruders. After a bit, they hear fighting in the halls.
"Someone here, stay here and protect the doctor," Alex tells Artemis, running out to confront the shadow who came to kill the doctor.
Going where the fighting is happening, Alex sees a woman fighting three ninjakhan. It only takes her a minute to knock them back, but when she sees Alex, she says "This party is getting too crowded." and throws down smoke pellets and makes her escape before Alex can stop her, and after looking for a bit, the team calls over the coms that the fog is already gone, the Starlabs in Pennsylvania are destroyed, and all cutting-edge science data is gone.
After having the doctor track the fog again, Robin figures out where they're going to hit next. Meanwhile, Alex makes a plan to summon more Ninjakhan to hide in the shadows of the computer room and stand outside with Artemis to set a trap for the assassin. And after waiting a bit, he tells Artemis to check the back of the school and also starts checking the front of the school when he gets attacked by the same woman as before, along with two other shadows, Spider and Hook, using them to distract Alex as she runs to the school.
In the fight with the Spider and Hook, Alex was facing a little challenge when he grabbed Hook's hook and broke it, using the cable on it to trow around Hook and hitting the Spider before he could try to wep him up, then slammed Hook down, and then picking Spider up into the air, he wrapped the two up and knocked their heads together. Knocking them out cold. Then she orders nearby ninjakhans to keep watch over them before heading to school.
While that was happening, the woman assassin snuck through the vents of the school to the computer room. Seeing no one there but the doctor, she went down and threw some shurikens at her, only for a dozen ninjakhan to come out of the shadows and block them from going after her. Not expecting that, the assassin battled through them and got shocked when she stabbed one of the ninjakhan. It dissipated. That's when Artemis comes in and shoots an arrow at the assassin, exploding and knocking off her mask to revile Jade, Artemis's sister. Jade, seeing that she's been exposed, tells her sister she shouldn't mess with a Cheshire cat and throws down smoke pellets to escape again after seeing the doctor finish the virus and send it to the team. But when Cheshire jumped through the window to the outside, Alex was there, picking her up in the air. She was almost helpless as she threw shurikens and her sai, but Alex just took it, not caring as they hit his body and bounced off his clothes. He strengthened them, and getting annoyed with her throwing things, he turned her into a cat and picked her up by the back of her neck.
Artemis came down and asked. "Alex, can you please let her go?"
Confused, Alex asked, "Why would I release a member of the League of Shadows?"
"Because she's my sister, "Artemis tells him, begging him.
Looking at the struggling cat he's holding, he says. "You're lucky you have a sister who is willing to risk her place on our team to help you; never forget you lost, and I felt pity for you." Alex tells the cat as it stops struggling.
Letting go of the cat, he turns her back into human form. Cheshire looked at him and then at her sister; she said."I'll owe you one." She tells Artemis and then glares at Alex as she runs away in defeat.
"I want you to trust me, Artemis, so I'll let this slide and not tell anyone, but never again, "Alex tells her.
"I know, thank you, "Artemis says, looking down and feeling guilty.
While all that was happening back in Philadelphia at a branch of Wayne, tech was the next target for the fog. When the team gets there in the Bio-ship, they see a van release the fog, and Robin says that's Professor Ojo. After that, Robin goes to Wayne Tech to hack into their system and upload the virus. While he was doing that, Superboy got shot back by Prof. Ojo's helmet laser beam, and Kid Flash ran in and started breaking everything in the van, distracting Ojo enough for Miss Martian to pull him up in the air for Aqualad to come down with a water hammer full of electricity and hit Ojo over the head, knocking him to the ground stunned with Superboy, and when Ojo tried to shoot again, it backfired and knocked him out cold. In the Wayne Tech building, Robin hacked into the building network and uploaded the virus, destroying the fog.
After that, everyone reports on their success, and everyone returns home and welcomes Artemis to the team. When Artemis gets out of the Zata tube going home, Red Arrow's there to confront her and tells her he knows she is not Green Arrow's niece and that he'll keep her cover because Batman and Green Arrow trust her, but warns her not to hurt his friends.
Infinity Island, August 9, 01:20 ECT
Sensei, the one who sent the assassins, is in a meeting with people on screen that only show up as white figures. He's telling them that the fog was destroyed and that Professor Ojo was only able to send half the stolen data from Starlabs and no Wayne Tech data. The figures aren't happy, but they're glad they have an operative on the inside.
