Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 DAY ONE

Third person's pov

Meera stood in front of a huge mansion like his home back in NYC, surrounded by a vast ocean from all directions. Looking around she takes in the beauty feeling bewitched. It felt out of the world. The beach, the glass walls, and the windows covered the mansion in the middle of a forest, hill, and ocean. She was speechless by the heaven around her. But one thing was odd there is no one other than both of them in her line of vision or it felt like nobody lives there. Confused, she turns to Elijah who was standing behind her with his hands in pockets smiling lazily. She raises one brow in question thinking about what's so funny in this situation. But who would tell her that her forced husband is waiting for her to go off which he knows will happen once she asks him about no civilization on his private island. Oh, he definitely would capture the moment in his camera safely tucked in his jeans pocket.

"Why is nobody here? Did something happen?"

asks Meera frowning. Removing his hands from the pockets he strolls towards her who watches him carefully. Standing in front of her who looked puzzled, he snaked his arms around her waist, lowering his face to her level. He said with smugness dripping in his voice,

"It's only you and I on my private island, my doe"

With widened eyes, she feels her mouth open several times but nothing comes out. Her heart races, stomach tightens, blood rushes in her veins, and the anger she bottled up until now feels like exploding any minute like a volcano. How dare he do this to me bringing me to an abandoned island! Clearly, he wanted to irk me, she thought. Smirking he kissed the tip of her nose and that was it for her. Pushing him with all her might she yelled at him from the top of her lungs,

"You imbecile! How dare you, it wasn't enough for you to marry me forcefully, blackmail me, snatching every happiness from my life that you brought me here with only us present! How could you be so heartless what did I ever do to you? Tell me! Tell me what was my fault to get this in my fate, to get an evil, cruel monster as my forced husband? "

She didn't know when she grabbed the collar of his polo shirt and harshly pulled him to her face back and forth at the end in rage. A deafening silence fell on both of them with her scowling at him, tears in her eyes, and him looking at her blankly, silently listening. Her hand tightened more, and with one final push, she jerked him back releasing her grip on his collar. While shaking her head she snarled,

"What else to expect from a shady man who has pledged to make my life a living hell. But just so you know by marrying me you only owned me on papers but not by heart and soul which will never love you, I hate you! I hate you!!!!!!! "

After shouting in his face she marched straight to the mansion her back taut with tension. Elijah looked at her back, sighing as he removed the sunglasses from his eyes. Taking a deep breath he tried to control his anger threatening to surface because of her disrespect. He didn't want to spoil their honeymoon which he wanted to enjoy thoroughly but his doe was making it difficult from the very beginning. But he is not the 'Elijah Mancini' for nothing. He knows how to tame the wilds and surely his doe was no different. He didn't understand why his heart sank at her words though. Nothing affected him. And she was just his possession nothing else. Riding the useless feeling he followed her inside the mansion.

The inside of the mansion was as beautiful as any exotic beach house. The glass walls offered great views from different sides of the ocean and forest. The lavish and intricate interiors were jaw-droppingly gorgeous. She sighed. If not for the situation she was in, this place would have been heaven for her, but right now it felt like hell with its devil who followed her inside. Huffing, she marched to the staircase, going upstairs, Elijah right behind her.

Upon arriving in the hallway comprising several doors, she decided to choose any for her stay away from him. Doing what she thought, she went to the first door and tried to open it but it was locked. Frowning she moved to the other door and tried again, it was locked as well. Scowling, irritated, she tried every door to be locked. Taking a deep breath with closed eyes, she exhaled. Feeling her blood boil, she turned to Elijah who was leaning against the wall, smirking. Her patience was running low which he was testing. Fisting her both palms, she voiced out calmly,

"Why are the doors locked?"

standing straight, he went to her at the end of the hallway, smirk intact. Smiling too sweetly at her, he replied upon reaching her,

"Not every door is locked, here"

he opened the double doors at the end of the hallway, the only room left, revealing a grand master bedroom. Circling his fingers like a snake around her wrist, he tugged her inside along with him. He can feel her boring holes at the side of his face, which made him chuckle. Riling his doe was delighting, she becomes childlike and whines.

Meera thought of several ways of murdering Elijah in her head. She should have known he had everything planned out beforehand, and the only one room unlocked in this huge mansion was nothing new.

"This is our bedroom, doe"

he said in her ear hugging from behind. His hands around her waist felt like ropes, tying her against her will, unwanted, uncomfortable. Wiggling, she detached his hands from her. Moving forward she took the room in. Two glass walls covered one side of the room, balcony attached which looks out at the picturesque views of the ocean. The other two walls were painted vanilla white, with expensive paintings, and decorative pieces adorning them. Two doors on the opposite wall to the glass walls were probably a walk-in closet and bathroom, a king-sized bed in the middle, couches with a coffee table, and a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

"The room is beautiful"

she said lowly under her breath. Turning to Elijah who stood behind her smiling proudly, she continued,

"Too bad, you have to stay alone"

his smile fell and now it was her turn to smirk,

"This mansion is so big, I can sleep anywhere as it offers many comfortable places and I will be most peaceful where there's no you even if it is a rock I am laying on"

She finished and didn't wait for him to reply and went to the closet. Elijah clenched his fist and jaw hard. He wanted to spend every second of his honeymoon with his doe and he would definitely, but she can't defeat him. He will show her that her feeble attempt at escaping from sharing a room with him is a failure. She came out with clothes, giving Elijah a lopsided grin she entered the washroom, closing the door behind her. He looked at the closed door, and slowly a smirk formed on his lips.

"Wait and watch, for. You are in for a ride. So unknown and surprising"

he said to himself in a low whisper.

Meera came out in a baggy t-shirt and sweatpants from the washroom to an empty room. Relief washed over her like fresh air. Immediately her tired body took her to the bed and before she knew it, sleep took her at the moment her head hit the soft pillows.

Hours later, she woke up in a dark room after sleeping like a baby through the afternoon and evening. The moon outside the glass walls verifies the fact.

Slowly getting out of bed she took in the silence around her. Other than crashing sounds of waves of the ocean, far way wind flowing through the trees, and insects singing in the night in the forest, the mansion was eerily silent. The darkness adds to the effects more. If she didn't know that Elijah was here too, the condition and feeling around were similar to that of a girl in a haunted house, alone.

Shivers run down her spine subconsciously. Shaking her head, she rid of the useless thoughts away. Speaking of Elijah, where was he? All the time he swarmed her like a housefly but at times like this, there's not even his shadow around. Meera boiled at him in her head.

Not wanting to spend a second in a dark room, she went out down the hallways, a spiral staircase, leading to an open, spacious living room with glass walls, and the right down another hallway where the kitchen was whose left was the dining hall looking over the ocean through glass doors.

Upon reaching the kitchen she halted on the threshold. The scene in front of her was astonishingly surprising. Shocking would be an understatement. With jaw touching the floor, she saw Elijah wearing an apron looking like a professional chef moving around the kitchen, cooking. He looked godly handsome, if she was, to be honest, she can't deny that. But the fact he can cook took the cake. She never in her wildest dreams imagined that he can cook or do any household chores. For he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Maids flagged after him till now. So surely the idea of him even ever stepping his foot in the kitchen or taking water in glass by himself was unimaginable and impossible and for her unreal. And now seeing him so expertly and with precision like a wave so effortlessly cook was so overwhelmingly shocking and out of the ordinary or practical that she froze in her place, literally, mouth agape. Was she dreaming, still sleeping? Her mind presented with possibilities for the current shocker.

Elijah who finished cooking, noticed her standing with her mouth open and eyes wide, looking like an animated cartoon of a shocked out of mind character. Hilarious, he thought she looked. Taking his apron off, he went to his doe who still didn't move, and stood like a statue at the entrance of the kitchen. Gently he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, caressed her cheek which he kissed, and that brought her out of the shock. Like the same way a paused movie starts replaying. Blinking her eyes, she looked at him smiling amusingly. In a dazed shock still alive in her veins, she asked,

"What are you doing?"

"I cooked dinner for us"

"You can?"

the surprise with disbelief she felt were evident in her voice, which he noticed. Smiling ruefully, he replied,

"Of course, since I was an early teenager, the household chores were intriguing and fascinating to a pre-teen me who learned it when permitted by my parents"

"Really?"

"Why do you I feel like that you find it hard to believe the words coming out of my mouth"

says Elijah caressing her waist in circles, Meera still was in disbelief that she let him hold her from the moment he kissed her cheek. She was too busy listening to the unbelievable facts about her devil of a husband. Her voice comes out rather sarcastic and biting than intended though which she doesn't regret,

"You know how to do things other than making people's lives hell, surprising"

feeling his hold tighten on her waist and jaw tighten, she smiles which didn't reach her eyes, and was spiteful. She continues tone matching her smile,

"What, hit a nerve?"

Closing the distance between their faces, he whispers against her lips, eyes looking at her nervous ones,

"I know many things that I am better than it at, especially in bed, doe, aren't you curious?"

he teased her pecking her lips at the finish of his sentence. Flushing at the meaning behind his words, she pushed him away which did nothing, and said in a rather loud voice looking frantically around anywhere but him,

"I am not"

"Sure, I believe you, but doe you will soon know how good I am in the pleasure world, in bed"

he said meaningfully, seriousness dancing in his orbs, no-nonsense voice. Meera felt her stomach churn, firming her belief of it never became reality, glaring she shouted,

"You pervert! Just dream, that will never happen in real life!"

pulling her body closer, looking directly in her glaring eyes, his voice holding promise, he said with stark seriousness,

"Will see, doe. Sometimes the dreams do come true"
