"What happened to the person that attacked me at the mansion?" Jesselyn queried while forcing herself into the space between Hailey and the dark-haired man. She held a box of pizza in her hand with a canned drink which she took using a straw.
Hailey cast a side-long look at the former Rain agent before turning away. As she looked away, she linked eyes with Ada who smiled and looked away.
"He did a little more damage but was taken care of later on."
"Well I am glad that he was dealt with," she said. "Who even was that?"
"Remember the spy back on Winter Weir?"
Jesselyn furrowed. "The one on Department H or ColdTech?"
"The latter."
"Jacob Marksman?" She said out loud. "How is Jacob Marksman here on Earth? I thought he self-destructed when he was caught?" She asked before biting a chunk from a piece of the pizza she had with her.
"It's a really long and complicated story," the dark-haired man said.
"Which is why we should talk about something different," Eder chipped in. "Like why you're eating the pizza that was meant for everyone?"
Jesselyn rolled her eyes at Eder and took another bite. "After I was attacked at the mansion, I've been craving a little more food than I usually do."
"Can I have a piece?"
Jesselyn furrowed and turned to the dark-haired man with the box. "Wanna have a bite?"
"Pass. I currently do not feel like taking anything."
"Okay, you can always take some if you want," she said before casting a long look at Eder who chuckled and shook his head.
Hailey shook her head before walking out of the room. The lavender blue-haired girl followed Hailey with her eyes before focusing on the two Weirs.
"You know, I am surprised none of you asked what Serenova Isle is?"
The dark-haired man furrowed. "Isn't it just a normal island like every other island?" He queried.
"I wish." Ada cleared her throat and leaned forward. "Serenova Isle is an island that is completely controlled by AI," she revealed.
"I do not get it."
"After the island was created four years ago, every human left the island and a few complete AIs were sent to the island. Since the creation, only AI lived on Serenova, and this is the first time a human will be setting foot on it," she explained.
"So rejoice," Eder said. "You are about to be one of the first people to be on the island."
"Wow," the dark-haired man exclaimed while Jesselyn continued to stuff more of the pizza into her mouth.
"Do you control these AIs from somewhere?"
"What, that is ridiculous," Ada laughed. "Just as Jacob was, they have full control of everything. Whatever they do, or say, is entirely things they've learned from when they were created. They even fix themselves when they have any fault."
Hailey came back into the room with a glass of juice in her hand. "It was initially supposed to be a tourist center where people get to interact with AIs that have full control of their minds, but that was changed," she said, sitting next to Ada. "Now we are turning it into a place where every AI can call 'home', I'd say. They'll be like normal people with feelings."
"And by AI, she means even people like me," Ada stated, nodding her head. "It'll be called Serenova Isle: the home of all AI." She waves her hand in the air dramatically.
Eder shook his head in disapproval. "Yeah, I don't think you fall under that category."
"Hey, I need a place to run to in case you humans fail, which will happen."
Hailey laughed and shook her head before turning back to the two. "After what happened with Jacob?" The dark-haired man queried.
"What?" Hailey asked.
"No, I mean, you said Jacob had full control of his codes and he rewrote it, turning against Yvonne and the whole of UNEAD, that didn't tell you anything?"
Hailey furrowed and turned her head to Ada. She looked at the maroon-haired man and when she noticed the look on their faces, she quickly raised her drink to her mouth.
"Well this is different," Ada chipped.
"How?"
"We made a mistake with Jacob," Hailey defended. "This is different: they are new, and they learn and grow with each passing second. We've put so much time, energy, and money into this and I can strongly say they are no flaws," she continued.
"And if I'm right and this works, we'll have a new type of civilization. They'll even be able to create and perhaps comprehend things we do not understand, like if intergalactic and time travel is possible."
She stopped and silence echoed through the metallic walls of the spaceship until Eder spoke. "And you've just made yourself to the top of my favorite person list."
Hailey chuckled and shot him an awkward smile.
"Wow, after such powerful words, I can't wait to meet them already." The dark hair man stated.
"Well, you no longer have to wait, because we are already there," said Ada while looking out the window.
The dark-haired man and Jesselyn looked down through the window as the spaceship approached the island.
"Wow" was the only word Jesselyn could make out.
The island looked like it was artificially carved by the hands of an artist who knew just well what perfection meant. From the spaceship they were on, they got a complete view of the island.
The main island was encircled by a grand wall adorned with long signal towers, creating a perfect circular formation. A gap of water allowed for the passage of boats between the main island and the surrounding wall.
In addition to the impressive sky towers and scattered wires running through different parts of the island, a massive mountain dominated one end, while a magnificent round building, reminiscent of ancient Greek architecture, sat surrounded by water in the center.
The remaining areas of the island appeared to be more ground-leveled.
Observing from a bird's eye view, the entire scene exuded a sense of advanced technology, surpassing anything they had earlier witnessed on Earth
Their ship landed on a helipad and they all stepped foot on the island. Hailey had a bright smile on her face as she inhaled the air and looked around the place. "It is so beautiful," Jesselyn exclaimed.
"That's something you and I both agree on."
"Hi," a voice greeted from behind. They all turned in the direction to see the speaker.
A lady stood behind them with a smile on her face. She had tanned skin with a brunette French twist hair which completed her dark brown eyes. She had a plump lip and wore a black blazer paired with a thigh-long skirt and ash shirt peeking under the blazer.
"Oh hello," Hailey greeted.
"Hi," she greeted again. "You must be the people Yvonne informed would be coming here," she stated while scanning all of them.
"I am the Neural Understanding and Reasoning Assistant, an AI system designed to mimic human-like understanding and reasoning abilities by utilizing neural networks. I aim to process and comprehend complex information, make informed decisions, and provide intelligent insights and solutions to all other AIs and humans alike. You can call me Nura, and welcome to Serenova Isle."
