I looked down at Giovani kneeling on one knee before me and knew exactly what my answer to him would be. I’d known for a while now that I was ready to be his wife. I was so happy that he was on the same page as me. He looked up at me with nervous anticipation, and I couldn’t help but grin down at him.
“Oh, Gio, yes! Yes! A million times yes!” I shrieked, jumping forward to wrap my arms around him.
He stood up to catch me, then grabbed my hand and put the ring on my finger. It fit perfectly, and I absolutely loved it. The emerald in the center sparkled in the setting sunlight and I knew I would end up staring at it for hours. I held it up so that Gio could see how it looked on me and he smiled, a possessive look on his face.
“I love you,” I said, pulling him in for a deep kiss.
“I love you so much, more than words can say,” he murmured before settling his lips on mine.
He didn’t need to find the words. I knew exactly how he felt.
