"Who would dare to attack our Sunshine Scripture!"
Nigun's face turned green at the sight of his sudden loss of men. This was a bad omen, as they're ambushed before even reaching their target.
He was baffled, after all, they had traveled quickly, so it minimized the chance of being detected.
In short, he couldn't understand how they had been exposed out of nowhere.
"Trash from Slane Theocracy, who allowed you to run wild here?!"
Enri descended from the sky and looked at these guys in front of her with disdain. In her eyes, these guys are just a bunch of scum, scum that can be easily handled. However, she didn't eliminate them all immediately. Because she sensed a feeling of being watched, likely from two sources.
One source was from Nigun's side. Nigun was a fool, and he didn't know he was being used as a pawn. He and his men were sent here merely to gather information. If they survived, it meant there were no surprises, but if they died, their value would be realized.
The other sense of being watched, Enri guessed, was likely from Ainz's Great Tomb forces.
Just as she suspected, Ainz and a group of floor guardians are indeed watching the scene unfold at this moment.
'We're very lucky, to get the intelligence of this world right from the start. We only need to look at the level of their fighting. A country's military can reflect the specific strength of the country, and even with significant disparities, it's unlikely to be too extreme!'
Ainz watched the army on the screen and understood something. Based on what was said, he knew these people were from the Sunlight Scripture, a name that sounded quite imposing. With their own designation, they couldn't be too weak.
So, Ainz felt fortunate to witness this scene. This way, they could gather useful information.
"Ainz-sama, these humans look very weak. Isn't it unnecessary to watch? Can't we just go and test them ourselves?"
The impatient Aura was a bit annoyed by the sight. After all, these people were something she could handle herself.
"No, until we understand the situation, you must not reveal yourselves. At least, we need to ascertain their combat abilities!"
Ainz knew that it is better to be more careful. It wasn't about being timid; it was a responsible attitude toward the lives of his people. In this regard, Ainz is actually doing very well.
Meanwhile, since Enri knew that Ainz was peeping from somewhere, she decided to suppress her strength a bit, aiming to draw Ainz out.
Looking at these people, Enri wasted no time, launching massive fireballs into their ranks.
"Be careful! She's a high-level magic caster, possibly a hero-tier individual. Summon the angels immediately!"
Seeing Enri's abilities, Nigun estimated her power. In fact, in this world, reaching the hero-tier, which is roughly around level 40, was considered very strong.
However, there was an inherent disparity.
None of them had reached the hero tier, so Nigun could only rely on the summoned angels to attack. As for the knights, they were essentially just regular people in armor. At most, they are only slightly stronger than average people.
With continuous summoning, one angel after another appeared.
'This… Why does this look like a summoning item from Yggdrasil?'
Ainz's brain began to race, although he no longer had a brain. Right now, he's just a core and a skeleton body. This was the trade-off for his power.
Despite being surrounded by beauties who, in their disguised forms, were very pleasant to look at, Ainz had no desire for such things.
This irony had become Ainz's trademark, an unavoidable reality.
However, Ainz noticed that this summoning method was very similar to the summoning method in the game, making him suddenly wary.
If something formidable were truly summoned, going out could be dangerous. But his caution shattered in the next second… utterly.
Because Enri's fireballs effortlessly incinerated the summoned angels. Ainz originally thought it would be an ArchAngel, maybe it can summon a full-level Angel, but as a result, they summoned a bunch of weaklings. According to Ainz's estimation, these things are at most at level 30.
"Damn it! Fortunately, I have a better item here. You wretched woman, die!"
Nigun pulled out a larger summoning crystal, calling forth an even larger angel, which looked quite formidable. This made Ainz widen his eyes again, but before his wariness could peak, another round of fireballs was launched.
Though the angel wasn't instantly defeated, it was left in a sorry state, with many parts of its body scorched.
At this moment, Ainz has begun to scold Nigun's mother madly in his heart. Could you stop being so trashy? The summoning was grand, the boasts were impressive, but the results were disappointing.
In Ainz's eyes, this Angel is merely around level 40. And in the Great Tomb, a level 40 entity was just a minion. Ainz felt exasperated, realizing he had been wary of mere minions.
Seeing the angel and Enri locked in a back-and-forth, with Enri being stronger but the angel not immediately defeated, Ainz felt a pang of frustration at this moment. What was this? A fight between weaklings?
"Ainz-sama, these humans seem very weak. It seems the power of this world isn't worth paying much attention to!"
Shalltear spoke up, her impulsiveness evident. When her bloodlust was triggered, the outcome was usually disastrous.
"No, we still need to be cautious. After all, the summoning props they hold in their hands are very similar to ours. Maybe they are just miscellaneous soldiers, so we must remain careful. Albedo, come with me for a trip outside. Remember to disguise yourself well!"
Ainz decided. Although the sight of this weak battle made him relax a bit, he still maintained some caution. At least, in front of these people, he felt he wouldn't be in any significant danger.
