"What's wrong with her?"
Suddenly seeing a person dressed in a shrine maiden outfit slumped over a table, looking as though she was in dire straits, everyone is a little curious.
Asahi knew exactly what was happening and didn't pay much attention. But Mikoto and the others have compassionate hearts, so they quickly approached Aisa and and inquired about her condition. After learning about Aisa's situation, they all became quite dumbfounded.
'I can't believe there are people like this in the world... How stupid can someone be to do something like this!'
Even though Misaki did not read Aisa's memory, she still knew that Aisa wasn't lying. After all, she is a master in psychology and could discern whether someone was lying even without using her abilities.
"Never mind, I'll lend you the money. It's not that much anyway!"
Mikoto was also exasperated. She couldn't understand why such an eccentric person existed. Because of having too many coupons, she had bought a large quantity of hamburgers all at once, nearly running out of money for the train fare. It was a rather frustrating situation to contemplate.
"Does Academy City also have a profession like a shrine maiden?"
Index asked with curiosity. Shrine maidens were a common profession in many places, but they seemed to be out of place in Academy City.
Just like her, a pseudo-nun, Index had now changed her clothes to a school uniform similar to Mikoto and the others, which was more convenient. However, professions like shrine maidens didn't seem to fit in with Academy City at all.
After all, this place was the headquarters of the scientific side, and shrine maidens were typically associated with religious roles, so how can they appear here?
"Actually, I am a magician, and this is my magic wand!"
Aisa pulled out an electric baton and started spouting nonsense with a straight face, making Misaki wondering if her own powers had weakened, as this person was coming up with such absurdities.
Even Asahi couldn't help but chuckle at this. Aisa's nonchalant attitude was quite impressive. After all, calling an electric baton a magic wand and pretending to be a magical girl was certainly a unique way, it really refreshed Asahi's worldviews.
This made Asahi couldn't help but think of those…magical girls in the world of… well, magical girls.
If all of them went around with electric batons claiming to be magical girls, the mental image was just too beautiful and completely beyond imagination.
In the end, Aisa left, but then, a group of people in black suits arrived just as she was departing, then she returned the money to Mikoto.
Kuroko, who had a subconscious feeling that something wasn't right, wanted to intervene, but in the end, Aisa rejected her goodwill, revealing that she had intentionally allowed herself to be controlled.
It's because her ability was quite problematic, as it could attract vampires, and once they are attracted, her blood would poison and kill them.
This ability had caused Aisa some distress. However, when she encountered Aureolus, he offered a solution to her problem, so she willingly joined him.
Aureolus intended to use Aisa to lure vampires to come, and Aisa didn't think there was anything wrong with it. As she believed that staying outside harmed both herself and others, as not all vampires were evil beings. So she chose to go back voluntarily.
As for Kuroko, she kept talking about this incident while they were eating.
"No, I have to investigate it. This matter is obviously abnormal!"
Kuroko believed this matter was not that simple. As for asking Misaki to directly read the other party's memories, this was something she chose not to do. They still adhered to basic principles of law, and they would only resort to such measures once they were certain the person was a criminal. It was a matter of maintaining their integrity.
As for Misaki, well, she didn't see any problems. She was willing to lend a hand and help out with a rather light-hearted attitude. After all, it could be seen as an effort to build friendships, and she didn't find it troublesome at all.
Asahi, on the other hand, didn't bother much with Kuroko's comments, because he knew that someone would come to deal with it later. Stiyl and that guy Aureolus would seek out Index later, so he would handle it together in due time.
Like this, the group finished their meal and left the restaurant. However, as they walked on the street, they began to realize that something was amiss.
"Why is there no one on this street? It's quite strange!"
Seeing that there was not a single person around, Mikoto and the others were taken aback.
"There are traces of a spell that drove people away, so the people around can't approach this place!"
Suddenly, Index sensed the fluctuations of a magical spell.
"Drove people away?"
The group was puzzled, clearly not understanding what was happening.
"Stiyl, just come out since you've arrived. We're all acquaintances, so there is no need to be so secretive. Also, if you want to find someone, you can just find them. Is there a need for all this secrecy? Someone who doesn't know might think you're up to something bad!"
Asahi spoke to the side with some exasperation, and then Stiyl appeared directly.
"You saw through it, huh? I was intending to retain a little sense of mystery. I have some information to share about them…"
Stiyl sighed and said. In the original work, he directly asked Touma for help, but Asahi is different from Touma.
Strictly speaking, Asahi is his current boss, so he is here to share information. As for how to deal with it later, it is up to Asahi himself, but Stiyl knows that Asahi wouldn't just ignore it.
Because this time, someone involved was an old acquaintance of Index.
"No problem, just go ahead and tell us!"
Asahi had no intention of keeping this information from Mikoto and the others, so he directly asked Stiyl to explain the situation. After that, Stiyl told the details about the situation and even shared information about Aisa.
"Vampire Killer? Isn't that the shrine maiden we encountered during the day? I knew something was off!"
Kuroko tapped his palm, indicating that her intuition had been correct, and there was indeed a problem.
"Now is not the time to focus on this. What's this Vampire Killer all about? Are there really vampires in this world?"
Mikoto furrowed her brows.
"Yes, there are, Misaka-san. You guys probably didn't know this, but the world is divided into the science side and the magic side. Academy City represents the science side. As for the magic side, it really exists!"
Misaki is of course well aware of these things. Among all the Level 5 Espers, Mikoto probably had the least exposure to these darker aspects of the world.
Misaki wasn't surprised that others didn't know about these things, but she had a clear understanding of the magic side.
After all, she has come into contact with a lot of things that the others hadn't. As soon as this sentence came out, the Railgun Quartet fell silent.
Now, with Misaki confirming it, it left little room for doubt.
