After Asahi and the others arrived at the restaurant, Asahi suddenly raised a question.
"Come to think of it, do you all just blindly trust the Church? Do you believe everything they say, especially when it comes to matters like memory? Nowadays, science has made significant progress in this field, so haven't you ever questioned it?"
Asahi asked a little curiously. After all, everyone should have their doubts, and when it comes to many things, what others say might not always be the truth.
It's in human nature not to believe everything blindly. People tend to conduct experiments and investigations on their own? The Church is not completely righteous, and there are many factions within it. Some things should be subject to questioning, shouldn't they?
People who can mix in the magic side should not be naive to this extent, or they would have been eliminated directly, no matter how strong they are.
"Uh, this…"
Sweat started forming on Stiyl and Kaori's foreheads. They did have some doubts, of course, but there was a significant problem. Although did have their suspicions initially, they didn't know where to find information or how to verify their doubts.
"We did have doubts at the beginning, but we had no idea where to find the information!"
Stiyl finally managed to say this, leaving Asahi somewhat speechless.
"Don't you know that there is something called the Internet? Wait a minute, it just occurred to me, you magic users seem to be technologically ignorant. Could it be that you don't know how to use the Internet because of this…?"
Asahi seemed to have made a remarkable discovery. The people on the magic side are all technologically ignorant.
Simply put, if you give them a mobile phone, they'd probably end up using it as a glorified pager.
These technologically ignorant people genuinely clueless when it came to anything related to technology, despite their intelligence in other areas.
It's not like they need to understand the inner workings of these devices, as not many people who use mobile phones know how they are constructed either. But for some reason, it's as if they are under a curse, completely helpless when it comes to such things.
This familiar situation made Asahi think of characters like Natsu from the Fairy Tail World.
As Dragon Slayers, they are afraid of transportation, no matter how powerful they were.
The state of the magician in this world is similar to those Dragon Slayers. After all, they couldn't be so clueless that they couldn't figure it out. Even if they had to start from scratch, for these magicians with super high intelligence, wouldn't technology be very simple?
However, whether it's Stiyl or Kaori, both of them were true super technologically ignorant people.
"Don't say any more!"
The faces of Kaori and Stiyl both turned green. Even they are not sure how they managed to become so clueless when it came to science. It's as if there was some kind of curse on them.
They even had spent an incredible amount of effort just to understand how to use a washing machine, making it seem more exhausting than facing a super monster in a battle.
For people like them, technology and science were like a nightmare, and they just couldn't figure it out.
"No, what I want to say is, even if you don't know it, can't you just ask someone? Especially in places like Academy City, which are so much ahead of the outside world."
"Even if you can't find the answer yourself, finding someone to help you doesn't seem like a problem, right?"
Asahi looked at the two people very strangely. Their behavior was indeed quite baffling. They had their doubts, but, because of their technological cluelessness, they had no ability to seek the truth.
But since they themselves couldn't do it, why not ask someone else? The internet made it so convenient, and with enough money, there wasn't anything they couldn't resolve.
"I…"
Kaori tried to say something but was utterly defeated, unable to counter the argument. She had practically dumbfounded herself with her own ignorance.
"Actually, during those times, there really was no way…"
Index had intended to give Kaori and Styil a way out, but even she couldn't continue with the pretense.
It was like a child who was clearly either a boy or a girl, but was raised as the opposite gender by their family. The child went along with it when they were too young to understand, but as they grew older, not knowing the truth became a problem.
This was what made Asahi and Index the most speechless.
Index felt she couldn't save these tech novices either, as when they encountered technology, their intelligence seemed to plummet, almost as if it were a curse.
"I'd personally recommend that you both should seriously consider studying it. After all, there are some things you just can't do without learning!"
Asahi said as he casted a meaningful look at the two of them, almost causing them to flip the table and storm out.
"Forget about that for now. By the way, Kanzaki, is it alright to address you that way? Why do you dress in such a non-mainstream fashion? Can't you go with something more conventional?"
Asahi asked with some curiosity, as Kaori's is dressed like she was giving out some kind of benefits.
Upon hearing this, Kaori's face turned bright red, and she couldn't help but shoot a glare at Stiyl.
In fact, her way of dressing, as Stiyl explained, was because they were currently portraying antagonists, and so they needed to have a villainous appearance. However, in Kaori's mind, villains from movies were only associated with the non-mainstream fashion.
But given that Kaori is a woman, there are some differences compared to movie villains, so the blame ultimately fell on Stiyl.
"Alright, after we finish our meal, let's go shopping. You two need to make some changes. A young, mature priest in pinstripes and a non-mainstream, little rebel look woman? And you're supposed to be magicians!"
Asahi remarked and rolled his eyes. He wondered why can't these two learn from others?
Just look at Aureolus, that guy, although he's playing the antagonist, his appearance is quite normal. He looks much more presentable than these two.
If it wasn't for the fact that Asahi have placed cognitive barriers on them, making them all appear normal, the turning heads percentage would be 1000% by now. Of course, the three of them collectively account for 300%, while Asahi occupy the remaining 700%.'
As usually, when Asahi was out in public, he would use these cognitive barriers, and regular people wouldn't perceive him as anything special. And his appearance and charisma could be concealed.
