Amara
The light coming from the windows gently woke Amara. She looked at Borin to notice he was already awake.
"Goodmorning Amara" said Borin in a sweet voice. He looked so handsome, thought Amara.
"Good morning, are you ready to build the smokehouse!" asked Amara excitedly. After they left Niwe's yesterday, she couldn't stop planning how they were going to do it. She had plenty of time to be with her thoughts since Borin had to go hunt.
"I am !" replied Borin, matching her energy.
They both got out of bed and made their way to the kitchen. Amara was uninterested in eating any more raw meat. She wanted to reveal her powers to Borin but a deep anxiety kept her from doing so.
"How about I show you guys how to cook meat before we start the build?" said Amara to Borin who was reaching for the cubbies with meat. Borin stood and thought for a moment.
"Okay that sounds good I will go collect the materials you said we would need" said Borin thoughtfully. Amara was surprised he agreed so readily but was happy she wouldn't be eating raw meat again today.
"I will help!" replied Amara
They made their way outside. Amara pointed out some dry leaves, small sticks and large sticks that would be best, borin found the large wooden log. Borin punched a hole into the log without shattering it. He looked very proud of himself and it made Amara giggle.
"Good job." said Amara happily. Borin looked at her with a dreamy look and smiled.
Just as they got everything together Enota appeared with her two mates Ash and Xylo with her.
"Amara!" called Enota while waving towards her. This reminded Amara of her old friend nadia. She pushed the sadness down and waved back.
Then soon were all next to each other.
"So whats the plan Amara?" asked Enota smiling. She was clearly very eager to get started.
"I thought I'd show you guys how to make a fire and how to cook meat then after eating and discussing how to build the smokehouse we can get started. "Said Amara.
Everyone looked nervous but everyone nodded in agreement, so Amara began the demonstration. This was something everyone in the Phenix tribe was taught even though the royal family did have magic. Fire was their life blood. Everyone should be able to make it. Although Amara wasn't lying they did have a community fire but it was more to show the magic than anything else.
Amara put the kindling in the hole and began to put as much pressure and speed into spinning the larger stick as possible. After a few moments smoke began to rise and everyone around Amara gasped. She began to blow causing a small flame to start. She quickly put more leaves and the small sticks onto it causing the flame to get bigger. It quickly spread to the log and the fire was lit!
"We will need more wood eventually but at the moment its okay" said Amara looking at everyone. Everyone looked dumbfounded.
"That was amazing" said Enota. Amara couldn't help but laugh.
"Thank you, Borin will you go get some meat?" said Amara. Borin quickly nodded and ran inside.
"We will put the meat on these sticks and put it in the fire so it will cook" said Amara pointing at more sticks on the ground
"Your tribe is fascinating" said Xylo complimenting Amara
"Indeed i've never seen anything like this" added Ash his face returning to a stoic look.
Borin returned to the meat and Amara began delegating the skewering of the meat while she cooked it. Everyone kept sniffing the air. Amara even saw Enota wipe the droll of her mouth which made her chuckle. After checking if the meat was fully cooked Amara passed it out.
"Don't eat it just yet it's still very hot" warned Amara. After showing them how to blow on it to cool it down everyone took a bite. Borin's eyes went wide when he tasted the meat.
"Whoa, this is incredible !" cried Enota in joy. She then grabbed Ash's shoulder, looked him in the eye and said while smiling "We will definitely have to make this."
"Yes we will" replied Ash smiling
"I can't believe your tribe ate this all the time. I would love to meet them and discuss more about their advancements," said Xylo amazed. Amara didn't know what to say so she simply replied "That would be cool."
