"You really need to learn when to leave" Azazel growled low anger rising in him. She moved with eyes well accustomed to the darkness as he didn't want to face the wreckage of his childhood room. He pulled something heavy from his bed and it dragged behind him as he turned to stand before the deity. He could tell she wasn't adapt to the hollow darkened room. She frantically looked around the area trying to adjust.
Before she got the chance a dark ominous black fire tinged in purples and grays lit the center of what looked like a massive room and as well as they carnage Azazel left behind after a fit of pain and rage. Inary scanned the room around her before her eyes landed on him and then on the white furs clutched in his bone riddled hand. He looked from the pelt and back to her. The seam across his jaw opening back up in a twisted smile, his eyes full of disdain.
" you want this back so badly." He said low not missing desperation in her eyes that were locked on the heavy skins in his hand. He lifted it up inspecting the large fox like maul. Teeth sharp and eyes missing as if it were a mask. "What- what are you doing! Are you going to give it back and stop playing this foolish game or not!?" She cursed inwardly without the skins she was more or less human with minimal control over her duties of the harvest. She could only effect that within her vicinity.
Her fingers itches in this skin she was uncomfortable and could feel the dwindling of her soul as she gazed at her skin. Just then Azazel tossed the heavy pelt into the open flame and Inary lurched forward but it was gone before her eyes the fire and the pelt gone in a flash of sparks and smoke. The room went deathly still and dark once more. Just outside the door as Isabella put her hand up to enter, Inarys blood curdling scream and pained sobs echoed from inside, she snatched her hand back almost afraid of what she'd find.
She began pacing outside listening intently as the sobs continued without dying. Just on the other side Inarys hands came to her hair on either side of her head and pulled in a frenzy of agony and soul tearing pain as she'd witnessed herself becoming more and more human like. Her nails once polished and sharp now dull and rounded her once porcelain alabaster skin now a delicate eggshell with scars here and there. Her hair white and eyes turning a honey brown and glazed over.
She felt as if a piece of her died and she could feel the searing pain of fire licking her skin though there was no visible flame. She brought her hands to the singed carpets where the fire had been and sifted through ash blackening her slinger hands. She continued frantically before the pain of Azazel grabbing her hair and pulling her head up to now meet his gaze. Her still on her knees as he crouched infront of her peering at her with malice.
"You are no longer the great deity of harvest. Now you are a mere wildling human female with nothing but your pretty face to remind you of what you were once." He pulled her up with him as he stood. Her hands clasping his hand tangled in her hair, she winced in pain and softly let out a cry. " the death of such an important deity will not go unnoticed by the gods." He stated coldly " I wonder what they'll think when they find you here. A simple ugly human women with her status stopped away by a fallen." He mused at her expense.
"Please just-just kill me now. I have nothing else without my beloved forest and the seasons I move. I do not wish to live in this human skin. I feel wrong and contorted and pained." Inary cried loudly her pleading falling on deaf ears. "No." His voice more clear now she looked up to see his face had shifted back to a more palatable human form. The same with his body he looked as if he'd not just destroyed possibly the balance of life for all around him.
"You will live and you will suffer until the gods you oh so love and cherish give me what is mine." He said in a dull tone as if bored with this now. " then if you wish to die I will gladly slay you in your beloved forest." He said as he released her hair and she crumpled to the floor tears still tracking down her swollen face.
He walked to the door feeling more unsure than ever at his headless actions. He opened it and as expected Isabella was waiting patiently. "Sire!" She said worriedly before he stopped her. " get the house keepers to clean up this mess and remove her from this floor and back to her chambers. She is to be restricted heavily until further notice." Azazel said feeling his chest tighten. "Your orders are received sire. Is-is lady Inary .. ok." Isabella asked lowly as she couldn't see well into the dark room.
"She is human now." He stated coldly trying to shake the wrongness he felt from the statement. Isabella hung her head as she knew this must have been bad in the case of a deity becoming what they believe beneath them. " I shall retrieve her swiftly then." She stammered walking past Azazel with her head still low.
Azazel grabbed her wrist and Isabella turned to look at him. " do you think me cruel little witch." He asked pointedly. Isabella looked away still focused on the pained sobs of her unlikely friend. " I think you more monstrous in this moment than any other. Sire." She said in a melancholy voice. She then bowed her head and stepped into the dark room closing the door behind her to leave Azazel with racing thoughts.
Isabella's eyes adjusted after a minute or two and her face fell at the sight of a now small fragile looking girl. With pink scars scattered over her arms and he hands that she could see. She looked nothing like the deity she knew as Inary. Now she was something delicate. Something much plainer and sad.
Inary turned her head and her eyes met the deep oceans that were Isabella's eyes. Isabella stepped closer once again removing her long robe to drape around the now much smaller frame of her friend, then wrapped her arms around her tightly as Inary began to sob harder in her embrace.
By sun set Inary had spent what little energy she had left in her now frailer body by crying so hard. Her eyes bloodshot and puffy, her cheeks red and lips swollen from her worrying them with her teeth. Isabella managed to get her up and down the long stairs before arriving to her bedchamber. She helped Inary in before sitting her down on the bed gently.
The silence between them was deafening and Inary looked gaunt and weak from the days events. " please rest my lady today has been taxing. I will check your health as soon as you slumber." Isabella hummed softly as she helped Inary remove her dressing. Inary acted as a lifeless doll. She Moved but Isabella could see that she was hollow and in a mental torment of which she'd understand later.
Isabella slipped a long chemise over Inarys head and arms then tied the front. Then brushed Inarys hair and braided it in two neatly platted floor length braids. Inary walked to the bed and sidled under the blankets not wishing to remain awake any longer.
Her body felt weak and aches she'd never known tore through her. Especially the ache in her chest where the Arrows scar was placed. It burned and aches and it made her mind numb to the other dull pains. She wanted nothing more than to dream of her place amongst the willow trees and warm earth floor scattered with the flowers she so loved.
Isabella too Inarys hand and held it in hers
"I will do my best to take your pain. Though I cannot say it will work you'll at least be able to sleep deeply and peacefully." She whispered as small electric looking flames danced around their wrists in a spiral going up Isabella's arm. Inary slowly became more relaxed and her eyes began to droop before fluttering closed with no fight left in her she drifted off to sleep.
