Josec sat with Master Andrea, Buern, Harry, Estelle and Jason.
"R-Repeat what you just said Josec!" Buern exclaimed in surprise.
"There may be a way to free Innovain from Souryu's control" Josec said.
"Is this true Josec?" Buern said joyfully.
"Are you sure Jo?" Harry asked.
"Tell us the details" Master Andrea asked.
"I learnt this from the elders of the Phoenix Clan that shortly after our births, by that I mean, Harry, Buern and I, Master Ayumi entrusted a sword to the elders, a sword called the Kommeno Syndesmo, a sword that was entrusted to her by Master Pheisl" Josec narrated.
"Yeah, I remember that sword. Ayumi was supposed to pierce Zan through the heart with this blade and channel her positive feelings into him if he were ever overcome by evil" Harry recalled.
"Yeah, the sword was supposed to have the ability to separate bonded forces of a polar opposite nature" Buern recalled.
"Apparently, my father began to study the sword into detail hoping to conceptualize its abilities into the development of a technique. Shortly before he confronted Innovain, he had developed his own technique, a limit break he called 'Light's Wound'" Josec narrated.
"What is this technique, 'Light's Wound'?" Master Andrea asked.
"It is a technique that inflicts an invisible wound upon its target preventing them from ever being completely overwhelmed by evil. By flowing positive feelings into this wound, one can gradually expand it until negativity itself is torn apart. The elders believe my father inflicted this wound upon Innovain. Basically, if we can widen this wound, we might be able to separate Innovain from Souryu" Josec narrated.
"That makes sense" Master Andrea said.
"This technique sounds far too convenient" Jason said.
Josec laughed.
"You're right Jason, there is a catch" Josec said.
"What is it Josec?" Buern seemed worried.
"Actually, I believe it would be better if you heard it from the elders themselves" Josec said.
Moments later, everyone had gathered in the presence of the elders.
"I see, you want to know more about Vega Fenix's limit break, the Light's Wound don't you?" William Fenix asked.
Everyone nodded.
"I'm certain Josec has told you about the circumstances surrounding the development of the technique as well as the nature of the technique itself" Lucas Bane said.
"However Josec also said there was a catch to the technique, we would like to know about this downside" Buern said worriedly.
"It's this Buern, you know about the events surrounding your births. Well, when Josec suppressed Souryu by shielding you, he imparted a great portion of his ability to suppress Souryu into ensuring that you permanently remained safe from Souryu's control. In essence, he also marked you with the Light's Wound. Josec no longer possesses the strength he would have had had he not shielded you. Another catch is the fact that Josec chose the Jo-lan Class Of Defender, a class with almost no raw offensive power, however to breach Souryu's scales and the sinister joki shielding him and Innovain, one would need great offensive power, something only the Warrior Class can offer, the reason Jo-lan informed you Josec that if you chose the Defender Class, you would have to live with the reality that you can certainly never defeat Innovain" Victor Vern explained.
"I see, so that is what Jo-lan meant" Josec realized.
"However there is a third catch. To be able to even see this wound, you need the Eyes Of The Phoenix thus only Josec can accurately pinpoint this wound" William Fenix explained.
"What do you mean 'accurately'? Are you trying to imply that there is another way to see this wound?" Buern asked.
"Since you Buern inherited the Spirit Of The Phoenix, you should be able to sense this wound to an extent however without Josec's eyes, attempting to damage Souryu could be compared to attempting archery blindfolded" William Fenix explained.
"So you're basically saying Buern has the power but lacks the vision to damage Souryu and Josec has the vision but lacks the power to damage Souryu?" Harry asked.
He seemed to be contemplating all of this.
"The final catch is that to be able to flow Light's Wound past Souryu's sinister joki, a technique like the Elemental Rainbow Dance Of The Fenixes which would allow Fenix Clan members to alter their wavelengths to one different from an opponent's for offense and one similar to an opponent's for defense is necessary. Basically, to ensure that you can damage Souryu without being overwhelmed by his sinister will, you need Josec's Elemental Rainbow Dance Of The Fenixes as well as Buern's spiritual fortitude" the elders said.
"This is beginning to sound like the tale of 'The Blind Man and the Deaf Man'" Harry said.
"What was that?" the elders asked.
"There's this tale about a blind man and a deaf man. Since the blind man couldn't see and the deaf man couldn't hear, the two decided to augment their abilities to make up for their individual weaknesses. Basically, the blind man could tell the deaf man about what he heard since the deaf man could read his lips and the deaf man could inform the blind man about what he saw since he had sight" Harry explained.
Everyone stared at him in surprise.
"By that you're trying to suggest that…" the elders said with sly smiles.
"Josec may not be able to utilize the Light's Wound as a solo technique like his father did but by augmenting Buern's abilities, they could both utilize the technique as a dual type technique" Harry explained.
Buern and Josec stared at Harry in awe.
