Ten thousand years had passed since the sealing of Armageddon. There were now two great kingdoms in play, the Kingdom of Saggeese and the kingdom of Novatio. These two kingdoms were in a period of instability. An evil warlord by the name of Erikkus Di Devilli had quickly arisen and had already conquered the kingdom of Saggeese. There was no liberty in the kingdom of Saggeese. The people only did what Lord Devilli commanded them to do.
There was one small town in the kingdom of Saggeese called Tyron, renamed by Lord Devilli. In this town there was a small amount of freedom since the town was so insignificant that Lord Devilli paid little attention to it.
In that town, there was a poor teenage boy who lived with his grandfather. His grandfather had told him of "The Tragic Legend" and he cherished it. In his heart he knew that Dragons would rise again. His name was… Reis Dragonhaärt.
CHAPTER 1- REIS DRAGONHAÄRT
Reis was lost in a dark forest. He looked around for signs of familiarity but found none. He decided to walk on. He walked for quite a while but found himself in the same spot.
"Oh no, I've been moving in circles!" he exclaimed.
He dropped to the ground, tired.
"I can't find my way out, I'm lost," Reis admitted to himself.
"Life is just like your situation, sometimes you seem to be walking in circles but the answer to the right path lies deep within your heart" an omniscient voice said.
"Who's there?" Reis called.
Suddenly there was a brilliant flash of light and Reis found himself floating in empty space.
"Reis Dragonhaärt, don't give up! Dragons will rise again! And it will be by your strength that Ryugaeia will be Dragon Earth again."
Reis opened his eyes and sat up. He looked around, he was in his bedroom.
"For days now I've been having the same dream, what's this supposed to mean?" Reis asked himself.
Then he went and washed his face.
"Reis! Reis! Are you up?" Reis' grandfather called.
"Yes grandpa! I'm coming" Reis said as he walked out of the bathroom. "I'm here grandpa" Reis said as he walked out to meet his grandfather.
"There's no food for breakfast, think you can find something for us to eat?" Reis' grandfather asked.
"Sure, just let me get my father's sword and I'll hunt for something for us to eat" Reis said.
Reis' grandfather laughed for a moment.
"You are still as impulsive as ever; your father's sword was mine, my father's and our ancestor's. It is a symbol of our family's honour; I can't allow you to use it for hunting" Reis' grandfather said with a laugh.
"C'mon gramps! You know our ancestors won't mind if it means our survival" Reis said.
"You make a good point…but I still can't allow you to use your father's sword. You know Lord Devilli has forbidden swordsmanship in this town. If you are seen with a sword, you will be killed immediately" Reis' grandfather said.
"It's people like Erikkus Di Devilli that this sword fights against. Besides you know I won't allow anyone to see it with my new technique" Reis said.
"You idiot! Magic is more forbidden than swordsmanship!!!" Reis' grandfather said.
"What are you talking about? Humans don't have magic. I just call it my secret art" Reis said.
"I guess you're right. Okay you can take your dad's sword" Reis' grandfather said.
"Now you're talking gramps!" Reis said as he removed his father's sword from his clothes.
"Reis! Don't tell me you planned on taking the sword even without my consent!" Reis' grandfather said.
"Ah you caught me," Reis said.
"Well I was never able to stop you anyway" Reis' grandfather said.
"Nope" Reis laughed.
Reis' grandfather frowned suddenly.
"You know what to do right?" Reis grandfather said seriously.
Reis assumed a serious look.
"Yes, HERE I GO!" Reis said as he spun the sword three times.
"ILLUSION RAY!!!" Reis called as a flash of light engulfed the sword. When the light disappeared the sword was no longer in Reis' hand. It had transformed into a staff.
"See? See? I did it. No one will know." Reis laughed.
"I must protect Reis! His destiny is too great" Reis' grandfather thought silently.
Reis walked towards the outskirts of the town. He was not popular with the villagers so he was ignored and went unnoticed.
Lord Erikkus Di Devilli had organized an army. He was seated on the Saggeesian throne.
"General Osukow, I've heard rumours about a group known as the Dragon Rangers. I hope it's just a joke" Lord Devilli said.
"Regretfully…it is not a rumour, there really is a group known as the Dragon Rangers. I've heard that each of them possesses a unique dragon as well as dragon ability. I've never encountered them before but there have been complaints from my men" General Osukow confessed.
"Hmm, that's interesting, since you know where they will strike... ambush them" Lord Devilli said.
"Yes my Lord" General Osukow said as he turned to leave.
"Oh and Osukow... leave no survivors!" Lord Devilli ordered.
"Yes, my Lord" General Osukow said as he left the evil warlord's presence.
Meanwhile, twenty one Dragon Rangers were stationed at the borders of the Kingdom of Saggeese. Three of them were sent to scout the inner border of the kingdom. While they were gone, General Osukow ambushed the other eighteen and slaughtered them all. There was not a single survivor.
"Count them!" General Osukow ordered.
The bodies were counted and three were found to be missing.
"There are three missing bodies. There is only one place I know of in Saggeese where they might be safe" General Osukow said with a sly smile.
Meanwhile it was night time. The three scouting Dragon Rangers who happened to be a Dragon Master and two Dragon students had returned from their scout.
"Master, what will we do once we deliver the information?" A female teenage Dragon Ranger asked.
"Can't you guess, Kyla?" the master questioned her.
"We'll attack of course, what did you think we'd do?" A teenage male Dragon Ranger answered her.
"I'm not stupid Shin, I just wasn't sure" Kyla said angrily.
They soon arrived at their station only to find the bodies of their friends littering the place.
"What's this?!" their master exclaimed in shock as he ran around trying to find survivors, he found none.
"NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! GUYS WAKE UP!!!" Kyla screamed.
"They can't Kyla, they're dead" their master said.
"H-how could this happen?" Kyla wept.
Shin tried to comfort her but he too couldn't stop shivering.
Suddenly, there were sounds of shattering like the breaking of glass and the Dragon rings of the dead rangers shattered and turned to dust.
"Their Dragon partners have returned to the Rangers' guild." Their master informed them.
"You lived brave and free lives, you died as heroes, rest in peace." The master said as he used his Earth Dragon ability to create graves for the dead rangers.
Shin used his Psychic Dragon ability to place each dead ranger in a grave and Kyla used her wind Dragon ability to cover the graves. Then the master erected a memorial stone for each ranger and Kyla and Shin etched the name of each ranger into their gravestones.
As they stood watching the graves, they were attacked again by General Osukow's men. They summoned their dragons and flew out of the area but they were wounded. They travelled out of range and unknowingly landed in the forest at the outskirts of Osukow village.
PRESENTLY…
Reis had entered the Tyron Forest. He looked around to make sure that no one was watching him. When he was sure that he was alone, he spun the staff three times and used it to strike the ground. In a flash of light, the staff transformed back into Reis' father's sword.
"Great, now all that's left is to find some animal for us to eat" Reis said to himself.
He walked on and on till he heard the leaves rustling. Being a master tracker and hunter, he stopped in his tracks to listen to the sounds. He looked closely at the ground and saw three pairs of footprints.
"These are human footprints. I wonder whose footprints these are" Reis said as he stretched his hand over the footprints and shut his eyes.
Reis had psychic abilities that allowed him to see events that had happened by stretching his hands over the area. As Reis searched his mind, he began to see images. He saw a man and two teens; a boy and a girl wandering through the forest, they appeared to be injured. Then he saw another image, a huge Kaiser-wolf was tracking them.
"Oh no! They're in danger!" Reis exclaimed.
Almost suddenly he heard a piercing scream followed by a blood-curdling howl.
"Please hang on! I'll be right there!" Reis called as he rushed towards the source of the scream.
Meanwhile Kyla, Shin and their Master were being attacked by a giant Kaiser wolf. The wolf was red and fiery.
"Aaaaahhhh!!!" Kyla screamed.
"Not now, we're tired and injured, Master Jin, what do we do?" Shin asked.
"Our dragon partners must be tired too. We'll only put them in danger if we summon them. Our only chance is to fight with the little power we have left." Master Jin said.
"Can I even use my abilities in this state?" Kyla panted.
"We've got to!" Shin declared.
"Easy for you to say smartass!" Kyla shouted.
"He's right Kyla" Master Jin said.
The Kaiser-wolf opened its mouth and blew a jet of fire towards Kyla.
"Kyla!" Shin called as he pushed Kyla out of the way.
The fire missed both Kyla and Shin.
"Kyla, are you okay?" Shin asked.
"I-I think so" Kyla said.
"Great, now let's show him who he's messing with!" Shin said as he stretched his hands in front of him.
"PSYCHIC BLAST!!!" Shin called as a force of invisible energy blasted the Kaiser-wolf.
However, the Kaiser-wolf was unaffected.
"WIND SLASH!!!" Kyla called as a blade of wind struck the Kaiser-wolf.
Dust enveloped the area but as the dust cleared, the Kaiser-wolf was seen, unaffected by the slash.
"Now it's my turn! EARTH CRUSHER!!!" Master Jin called. Huge blocks of earth arose and crushed the Kaiser-wolf but it was still unaffected.
"Impossible! How can it be so powerful" Master Shin exclaimed in shock.
The Kaiser wolf was now mad with rage. It shot simultaneous blasts of fire towards the three dragon rangers.
"Is this our end?" Shin asked.
"S-Somebody, help us, p-please anyone, HELP!!!" Kyla called.
"TIDAL SLASH!!!" a voice yelled as a huge blade of wind knocked the Kaiser-wolf.
"Kyla, was that you?" Shin asked.
Kyla shook her head and pointed towards a cluster of trees.
As they all watched, a boy of Kyla and Shin's age stepped out of the shadows. He wielded a flashing sword.
"You're dinner!" the boy said, and almost immediately, the Kaiser-wolf fell to the ground in pieces.
"I don't believe it! He took it down with just one blow!" Shin exclaimed.
"It is an amazing feat" Master Jin admitted.
"Hey you guys! Are you okay?" Reis called to the three strangers who seemed shocked by his strength.
"Thank you boy, you saved our lives" the adult said.
"You guys should know better than to wander into the Tyron Forest." Reis said trying to sound important.
"Uh-well, we didn't know it was so dangerous" Kyla said nervously.
"You're not from around here are you?" Reis said looking at them closely.
"Uh-um" Kyla stammered.
"Don't worry, your secret's safe with me" Reis said with a sheepish grin.
"Thanks" Kyla said gratefully.
"Do you have a place to stay?" Reis asked.
"You don't even know our names yet you offer us a place to stay. Either you are too kind or too foolish" Master Jin said.
"I'm a bit of both you see?" Reis said with a laugh.
"Actually, we do need a place to stay for awhile; can you take us to a doctor?" Shin asked.
At this, Reis smiled a sly smile and waved his hand over them. In a flash of light the three of them were transformed into sticks.
"I can't just bring you into the village as humans. If Erikkus Di Devilli finds you, he'll kill you for sure" Reis said as he bundled the three sticks, and shrunk the Kaiser-wolf meat and carried it.
He then walked all the way back to Tyron village.
When he entered the village, the people stared at him in wonder.
"Every day, he goes into the forest with a stick but comes back with meat" they murmured.
Reis ignored the murmuring and went to his grandfather's house.
"REIS!! You're late! Do you know what time it is?! It's already afternoon!" Reis' grandfather yelled.
"Aiiee!!! Sorry Gramps!" Reis said as he entered the kitchen and unshrunk the meat.
"Whoa! That's a big one! You've really outdone yourself this time" Reis' grandfather praised Reis as he turned to the three staffs leaning on the wall.
Soon he had set a fire at the fireplace.
"And you brought back some firewood too, you're such a thoughtful boy" Reis' grandfather said as he took the three staffs.
"Huh? Firewood? What firewood?" Reis wondered as he recalled turning Kyla and co into sticks.
At that moment, Reis' grandfather threw the three 'sticks' into the fire.
"Gramps! No!" Reis called as he hurriedly pulled the staffs from the fire.
Luckily, they had not yet caught fire.
"Phew! That was close," Reis panted.
"Why are you getting so worked up boy?" Reis' grandfather questioned him.
Reis looked around.
"Because of this!" Reis yelled as he stretched his hands over the staffs and in the next instant, three humans lay on the ground in place of the staffs.
"WHAAAAT?! REIS YOU…YOU…YOU IMBECILE!" Reis' grandfather shook his fists in a rage.
"What's going on here? I feel…strange," Kyla opened her eyes and murmured.
"HOW COULD YOU DO THAT?! WHAT EVIL SPIRIT POSSESSED YOU TO TURN HUMANS INTO STICKS?!!" Reis' grandfather scolded him.
"HE DID WHAT?!" Kyla and Shin exclaimed in horror.
"I thought I told you that magic is more forbidden than swordsmanship, if you decided to break the rules, at least don't go breaking the most basic rules of magic!" Reis' grandfather yelled.
"Gramps, could you lower your voice a bit?" Reis pleaded.
"Don't ask me to lower my voice! AAH! You're just like your father, Dragon Knight that he was, he was always breaking the rules!" Reis' grandfather yelled.
"M-my father was a…," Reis stared in shock.
Reis' grandfather realized his mistake and kept silent.
"Gramps, you just said my father was a Dragon Knight," Reis questioned.
"Bah! I never said such a thing" Reis grandfather denied.
"Kyla, you heard him right?" Reis asked.
"Sorry Reis but I'm staying out of this," Kyla said.
"Let's prepare the meat before it goes to waste" Reis grandfather said. "Jin? Is that what you're called? I'd like to speak with you in…private," Reis' grandfather said.
"Kyla, Shin, Let's leave the grown-ups to prepare the meat while we have some fun. I know of this mountain that's got a killer view," Reis said.
"Sure…but don't turn us into sticks again," Kyla half pleaded-half warned.
Reis had made a careless mistake. After defeating the Kaiser wolf, he forgot to transform his sword into a staff. Though unnoticed by most of the villagers, it could not be hidden from the one person it was supposed to be hidden from, Lord Devilli's spy Kassim. Immediately after spotting the sheathed sword, Kassim hurried to Lord Devilli's castle. Kassim was admitted into Lord Devilli's presence. The evil warlord was being updated by his malicious general, General Osukow.
"Ah Kassim, I've been waiting for you, any new information?" Lord Devilli asked. You will be very pleased with my new discovery. This morning, a boy went into the Tyron forest with a staff but returned with a sword, three staffs and meat resembling the flesh of a Kaiser wolf," Kassim reported.
At this, General Osukow smiled slyly. Lord Devilli narrowed his eyes.
"Are you suggesting that…this boy not only broke the law concerning swordsmanship but magic as well?" Lord Devilli questioned.
"Lord Devilli, recall what I told you earlier, about the three missing Dragon Rangers," General Osukow reminded Lord Devilli.
"Three rangers…three staffs. How interesting. Who is this boy that defies my law?!" Lord Devilli roared angrily.
His eyes flashed with a strange red energy and an earthquake rocked the castle.
General Osukow and Kassim trembled in fear.
"My lord, his name is…Reis Dragonhaart," Kassim reported.
At this, a look of fear flashed across Lord Devilli's face momentarily.
"So…My worst fear has become a reality" he thought silently.
"Tell me, this boy, is he silver-haired, green eyed and with a dragon-shaped scar on his right shoulder?" Lord Devilli asked.
"He has the first two features but I never noticed the third," Kassim said.
"You've done well Kassim, you will be rewarded. General Osukow, gather your men, we're going on a little raid," Lord Devilli said with an evil laugh.
Meanwhile, Reis, Shin and Kyla were on Colossal Mountain. Kyla and Shin were laughing merrily at Reis' jokes.
"Please stop Reis, my ribs hurt," Shin pleaded as he laughed to the point of tears.
"You should have seen Gramps that day. His face was red and so swollen with anger I thought he'd explode!" Reis narrated as he laughed himself.
"So what did you do Reis?" Kyla asked amidst laughter.
"What d'ya think? I fetched a bucket of water and emptied it on him. I was only eight then so it was natural to think he was on fire!" Reis said as he burst into laughter.
"Ppppph! HA HA HA HA HA!!!" Shin and Kyla laughed as they clutched their sides, trying to stifle the laughter but their efforts were all in vain.
After a while, they all regained their composure.
"Reis" Kyla called.
"Huh?" Reis looked at her.
They were all lying on top of the mountain, staring into the orange sunset.
"What do you think of dragons?" Kyla asked.
Reis sat up and remained silent for a while.
"Did I say something wrong?" Kyla asked worriedly.
"No, it's just that, ever since I heard about 'The Tragic Legend,' I've been feeling guilty. I don't know why but I just can't help blaming myself for the Great Extinction. I wish dragons didn't have to die out because of the Dragonheart. If only I could have been there to prevent it" Reis sighed.
Kyla looked at Shin. Shin nodded and Kyla nodded in response.
"Reis, it's true that dragons were driven to the brink of extinction but not all dragons died out. Some survived and are here even today," Kyla said.
"And to make you feel better, I SUMMON YOU DRACO!!!" Shin called as he raised his hand.
A flash of lightning announced the appearance of Shin's dragon partner Draco.
"I SUMMON YOU EHUM!!!" Kyla called as another flash of lightning coupled with a violent wind storm announced the appearance of Kyla's dragon partner Ehum. Reis stared at the dragons in awe.
"See? Some dragons did survive," Kyla said with a smile.
The dragons seemed amazed to see Reis.
"Finally, you've returned, Lord Dragonhaärt!" they said.
"Lord Dragonhaärt?" Kyla questioned.
"It's best you know nothing for now," Ehum said.
"If you say so," Kyla reluctantly agreed.
A tear flowed down Reis' face.
"I don't know why but I feel relieved…like a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders" Reis said.
"We understand," Draco said.
"Ever heard of the Dragon Rangers?" Shin asked.
Reis shook his head ignorantly.
"The Dragon Rangers are a group that have dedicated their lives to protecting the surviving dragons." Shin informed Reis.
"We also fight evil wherever it breeds" Kyla added.
"We?" Reis asked.
"Yes, Shin, Master Jin and I are Dragon Rangers" Kyla told Reis.
"Great! Then you'd know what a Dragon Knight is," Reis looked expectant.
"It's not something that can be explained in words. You'll understand if you join us," Kyla said.
Reis seemed to think about it for a while.
"I can't, Gramps needs me," Reis said glumly.
"We understand Reis. Maybe one day, you'll become one of us," Shin tried to make Reis feel better.
Suddenly, a thick cloud of smoke ascended into the sky.
"What's that?" Kyla asked.
"Oh no! The village is on fire!" Reis exclaimed in fear as he began to hurry down the mountain.
"Reis! I think it will be faster if we ride the dragons!" Kyla called.
Reis hesitated.
Kyla and Shin mounted their dragon partners.
"What's wrong?" Kyla asked.
"I…uh…I…um…I'm afraid of heights," Reis confessed.
At this, Kyla and Shin began to laugh.
"It's not funny!" Reis yelled.
"We're sorry. It's just difficult to imagine that someone as powerful as you is scared of such a little thing as heights," Shin said while trying to keep himself from laughing.
Reis frowned, then he got a diabolic idea and began to raise his hands.
"Wh-what are you doing?" Shin asked fearfully.
"Nothing much, I'm just going to turn you into stones so that you can't laugh," Reis said with a cunning smile.
"YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!" Kyla and Shin exclaimed in fear.
"Oh I am very serious" Reis said.
"Uh…Reis, c-calm down, the v-village is on f-fire remember?" Kyla stammered.
"I nearly forgot!" Reis said as he suddenly leapt unto Draco.
Let's get to the village as quickly as possible!" Reis said.
"That's what we do" Shin said as Draco rose into the air.
Ehum followed close behind.
"See? It's not so bad," Shin said.
"You're right! It feels great!" Reis exclaimed in joy.
Meanwhile, in Tyron village, Lord Devilli, General Osukow and a battalion of armed troops invaded Tyron. They demanded to know where Reis and the Dragon Rangers were.
"We are peaceful people Lord Devilli. We've never stood in your way, why do you attack our village like this?" one villager was brave enough to ask.
Reis' grandfather and Master Jin stood among the crowd of villagers.
"You think this is an attack? No no no no, this is not an attack…BUT THIS IS!" Lord Devilli roared as his eyes flamed.
In the next instant, the entire village was on fire! The villagers screamed in fear and confusion.
"Do not interfere," Reis' grandfather whispered to Master Jin.
Master Jin nodded. Reis' grandfather stepped forward.
"Lord Devilli! How dare you play with innocent lives?! You are just a creature of darkness! Your heart knows only hate! Leave us alone!" Reis' grandfather challenged.
Lord Devilli narrowed his eyes in anger.
"How dare you challenge me old man?! Do you have some kind of death wish?!" Lord Devilli roared.
"What? You threaten to kill me? You are a fool Erikkus Di Devilli! Killing me would change nothing! I am an old man after all and I'll soon die anyway," Reis grandfather laughed.
Lord Devilli smiled.
"You're right old man, your life means nothing so…I'll kill the children!" Lord Devilli roared.
"What?! Are you so consumed by hatred that you'd dare to attack innocent children?!" Reis' grandfather yelled.
Lord Devilli looked around and saw a little girl, then he smiled and stretched his forefinger towards the girl.
"No! Please Lord Devilli! Not my daughter!" the mother of the girl pleaded.
"Goodbye little one!" Lord Devilli laughed as he shot sparks of lightning from his finger but Reis' grandfather suddenly appeared in the way, shielding the girl and taking the damage instead.
"I see you don't value your life. At least, before you die, tell me where Reis Dragonhaärt is!" Lord Devilli ordered.
Reis' grandfather remained still.
"Pity, you died before you could be of any use to me," Lord Devilli said.
Almost immediately loud exclamations filled the air.
Lord Devilli raised his head and stared into the sky. Two dragons raced towards the village.
"You want me?! Then you'll get me!!!" Reis roared as he leapt off Draco's back brandishing his father's sword.
Lord Devilli raised his sword in response to block the attack but Reis' strike was so powerful that it shattered Lord Devilli's sword and struck him on the shoulder.
"AAAARRRGGHHH!!!" Lord Devilli sceamed in pain as huge waves of electricity were discharged from his body.
"You're strong Reis Dragonhaart…but I'm even more powerful than you" Lord Devilli said as he disappeared.
"What's that supposed to mean! You're dead!" Reis growled.
"Foolish brat! You know nothing. That wasn't the real Lord Devilli. It was merely one of his shadows. It contained one-thousandth Lord Devilli's real power," General Osukow laughed as he led his men out of the village.
"Kyla! Shin! We have to save the village!" Reis ordered.
"I can't. Ehum and I have wind abilities. Wind only strengthens fire" Kyla admitted.
"And my Psychic abilities are only useful against living entities. I can't help you," Shin admitted.
"Reis…" Reis grandfather called weakly.
"Gramps!" Reis rushed to his grandfather's side.
"Gramps! What happened to you?!" Reis asked.
"Erikkus Di Devilli did," Reis' grandfather said weakly.
"I'll make him pay, I promise" Reis swore.
"Reis…unnh…maybe Kyla, Shin and Master Jin can't save the village but you can!" Reis' grandfather declared with absolute certainty.
"H-how gramps?" Reis asked.
"By believing in yourself and absolutely…"
"Absolutely what gramps?" Reis asked.
"Absolutely trashing Lord Devilli's law against 'your secret art'" Reis' grandfather said.
Reis smiled.
"You're absolutely right gramps!" Reis said as he stood up.
"What are you going to do Reis?" Kyla asked him.
"I'm going to…listen to my heart and my blood," Reis said as he shut his eyes.
"Oh and Reis…have fun, you're already a Dragon Knight, just like your father was," Reis' grandfather said as he lost consciousness.
Reis shut his eyes and concentrated. He felt light like a leaf. He could feel power all around him.
"All I've got to do is bend the power to my will. I mustn't try to control it…I must flow with it" Reis murmured as he lifted his hands towards the sky.
He could feel a wave of gentle force rising from the ground into the air. On the outside he was radiating with intense golden light. Reis focused on uniting all the droplets of water in the atmosphere. It was getting intense as Reis struggled to keep his powers from surging out of control.
"M-Master Jin! Reis is using an elemental ability! How is he doing it without the power of a dragon?" Kyla asked in shock.
"I don't know. It defies all logic," Master Jin admitted.
"How can he be so powerful?" Shin asked.
"HHHAAAHHH!!!" Reis roared as all the vapour in the atmosphere condensed and began to fall as heavy rain.
In less than five minutes, all the flames were dowsed but Reis collapsed from sheer exhaustion. Reis' grandfather opened his eyes.
"Reis, you must go with them," he said.
"But I can't leave you Gramps" Reis said worriedly.
"Don't worry Reis, we'll take good care of him" the woman whose child Reis grandfather had protected said.
"We're sorry for treating you like strangers for so long. We were deceived by Kassim. We know now that you're good people" another villager said.
"Become stronger for all of us and free us from Di Devilli once and for all," another villager said.
"I will…and soon, I promise!" Reis swore.
"Then I think it's time to leave. Right Reis?" Master Jin said with a smile.
"Sure, I've got a lot to learn and I want to begin as soon as possible," Reis said.
Meanwhile Lord Devilli had received all experiences concerning the Raid at the very moment his shadow was defeated.
"Hmmm, very interesting Reis Dragonhaart, very interesting indeed," Lord Devilli said as he burst into devilish laughter.
Reis, Kyla and Master Jin flew all through the night. At midnight, they crossed the border of Saggeese and flew over the sea. Three hours after midnight, they had entered the continent of Novatio. By dawn, they were over a dense forest. Soon, they saw what looked like a village in the middle of the forest. As the dragons reduced their altitude, Reis realized that it was a township and not a village.
"We're here Reis! This is the Rangers' Guild!" Kyla said. "Wow! It's great! Reis said. "Reis, this shall be…your new home," Master Jin said.
Reis felt thrilled.
AND THUS BEGAN THE RISE OF A NEW LEGEND…
