" Hello," Disha greeted Rohan and me as we enter inside and I notice the two plates of doughnuts. My brothers were eating one of the doughnuts.
" Hey, Disha, how have you been?" Rohan asked we sat down and I took a plate handing to Rohan so he took one of the doughnuts.
" I am good," She answers while I look around to see my younger cousins but I only heard their snorts.
" All of them are sleeping," I commented as I took the first bite of a strawberry jam-filled doughnut.
" They got tired from all the walking in the mall. I can't believe they are so lazy," Disha said.
" I know right? Gen Z generation is the lazy and entitled generation of all time," Luv commented showing his disappointment.
" Luv, you find them lazy because you are a workaholic and don't take a break," Rohan responded which I agreed.
" I am not a workaholic. it's just that I can't sit still doing nothing but Gen Z can. Then they will blame everything on climate, or how an earlier generation never cared about emotions or simply following rules are toxic for them," Luv leans forward to take a doughnut as he explains his point.
"It's true that earlier generations never cared about emotion and mental health and Gen Z is fed up with the world because it's crazy. It's too much negativity than positivity," I muttered making Luv scoff.
" Let's change the topic because you won't understand my points," Luv said.
" If you have a valid point then I would understand," I snarled at him making him annoyed and before Luv would say, Khush ask first.
" What's going to happen with Geeta, Asha?"
" I am thinking to join her in our pack after all she is a sunshinner," I suggested looking at Disha whose mouth was filled with a chocolate doughnut.
" Of course," she responded covering her mouth and when she swallowed, she continued speaking,
" We have to perform the ritual for these three as well to join our pack,"
" Wait, we aren't members of Sol Hodu?" Khush asked.
" It's Sol Hudo. And no, we can't mind-link each other that means you are not in the pack yet," I corrected him and explained which confused the boys further.
" But we mind-link each other," Rohan pointed out gesturing to my brothers and him.
" Can you mind-link me no...Disha?" I change my question midway because it may be a possibility for Rohan to mind-link me. After all, we are mates or I transformed him into a werewolf.
By the look on Rohan's face, I can say he is trying and shaking his head in defeat.
" Look at me Disha," Luv ordered and stared at Disha narrowing his eyes and making Disha have a cringing smile. Then Khush tried when Luv was taking long.
" Asha?" I was startled to hear Rohan's voice in my mind.
" I can mind-link you," Rohan announced proudly then quickly my brother tried but failed.
" When will you do the ritual then?" Khush asked Disha.
" We can do it now," She answered and it was the perfect opportunity given no parent is home.
" Give me your hand," She ordered lending her hand out to Luv first.
Disha extends her index fingernail and cut Luv's palm enough to bleed a little then she cut her palm. Then she holds his hands together.
" Pledge your loyalty to me as Luna and Sol Hudo as your pack," Disha instructed.
" I pledge my loyalty to Disha as Luna and Sol Hudo as my pack, " Luv muttered hesitatingly as he wasn't sure about his words.
Then a sudden wave of a hug flattered my heart and I looked at Disha and Luv seeing their expression. They felt the same as I did.
" I can feel Ero," Astra purs in excitement then she blocked me. It happens when she talks with other wolves' spirits, especially Eve.
" Do you feel any change?" Khush asked Luv who thinks for a while and answered.
" I can't put in words,"
Then Khush gave his palm out to Disha and she sliced his palm in the middle and Khush pledged dramatically making everyone chuckle.
" I will die for Queen Disha and my pack, Sol Hugo,"
Then Rohan sliced his palm out and presented out to Disha.
" You have to pledge to fulfil the duty of Royal Beta as well, Rohan," Disha explained.
" I pledge my loyalty to Queen Disha and I will fulfil my duties as Royal Beta without any sinister thought. I will protect my pack, Sol Hudo and its members," Rohan promises seriously and I never thought I would find him hotter than now.
" I formally welcome Luv, Khush and Rohan as members of Sol Hudo. And tomorrow I will welcome Geeta as our new member as well," Disha announced through mind-link and instantly rage from Nina.
" Geeta as in the one I fired," She asked.
" Yes, I transformed her into a werewolf," I informed her and blocked her right away.
" What's the scene with Geeta and Nina?" Khush asked looking at me with a bit of accusation.
" Geeta was in need to pay money to a shark loaner which forced her to accuse a man of assault. When Nina found out, she fired Geeta and made sure doesn't get work," I explained shocking everyone as they gave me a disbelief expression.
" Was the man innocent?" Khush asked.
" Yes. Trust me, Geeta is a nice girl and the situation forced her to do it," I defended Geeta as I understand her situation.
" A nice girl? Asha, what happened to you? This isn't like you at all," Luv snarled in doubt.
" I saw her memories and she had a very hard life. She isn't privileged like us...," Rohan interrupted me saying,
" Blessed, Asha... For once stop empathising with people because you won't find anything wrong then. Geeta accuses an innocent man of assault. That could have ruined the man's and his family's life. Yet, you are defending her,"
" Because the situation isn't just black and white," I yelled shocking Disha and my brothers while Rohan had a look of realisation.
" Why you are having that look, Rohan?" I asked in confusion.
" I got it by what Guru Ji meant that your bond with Geeta will be different. You always said no two wrongs make right or vice versa. Now you reason her action by saying the situation wasn't black and white," Rohan answered while I shake my head.
" You met her Rohan. She is harmless," I said.
" Because she was scared for her sister's life and didn't know what to do," He muttered.
" For those sisters' protection, she did. Shark loaners aren't nice people, for money, they can sell or kill anyone. Geeta did everything to protect her younger sisters. Just like you would have done for Roshini," My words did make Rohan think.
" Asha please, if the shark loaners were so cruel then why did she got involved with them in the first place? Why didn't she ask for help from the police?" Luv growled behaving like an ignorant man.
" Because the situation forced her. How many times do I have to repeat it?" I shouted in frustration and notice my brothers' expressions that they are having an internal fight.
" Disha, Geeta is a nice girl and you can trust her," I pleaded because Disha's decision is final.
" I have to meet her to decide if she can be a member of our pack," She muttered and I couldn't help but hug her.
" So our opinion doesn't matter," Luv snorted.
" It does," Disha reasoned.
" Then we will vote," Luv declared.
" Why are you being adamant about hating Geeta, when you haven't met her?" I asked trying my best so the voting doesn't happen because I know she won't be accepted.
" She tried to ruin someone's life, Asha," Luv yelled.
" She didn't have a choice. She was abandoned when she was a child. She was less than ten years old when she begged for money but no one gave her a penny. So she started to ask for loans and everything she can to feed her sibling at least one meal a day," I can see my words did affect everyone to some extent.
" I don't think voting is necessary, Disha. All of you have to think for a while then meet Geeta. And you won't be having an objection to her being a member of our pack," I placed my final pinches and walked to my room as I badly wanted to go to the bathroom.
By the time I come back to the living room. Nina, Roshini, Yasmin and Haniya arrived and my sister was shaking in rage.
" So Asha, do you justify rape?" Nina asked as soon as she notice me.
" What the hell? That's a ridiculous question, Nina," I shouted.
" There is no need to yell. We can discuss like the adults we are," Khush spoke making sure the matter doesn't go far. He was always best at that.
" She is the one shouting here. Geeta is no less than a rapist and you are supporting her, Asha," I growled at Nina's words.
" Both of you control yourself. Mom messages me, they are on the way and will be coming any time now. We will talk about this later," Disha spoke with authority that doesn't leave any place for disagreement... For me.
" Control yourself, Asha. Otherwise, you will reveal your true self. A narcissistic woman," Nina mocked me.
" Nina, stop it," Luv and Khush shouted at her.
" You are calling me a narcissistic woman. Then what are you, Nina? You find pleasure in torturing and killing people. Maybe the therapist was right to declare you a sociopath," I yelled and heard low gasps behind me.
All the younger cousins stood outside the room. I could see the sleepiness in their eyes with shock.
" What did you say?" Nina questioned making me look at her. My brothers stood still looking at me in disbelief.
" Apologies to Nina, Asha," Luv ordered.
" I am a sociopath?" Nina laugh as if she heard a joke but my expression didn't change.
" I read the reports, Nina. You are a sociopath. The way you tortured Geeta...," Nina interrupted me by shouting,
" She deserved it! She made a mockery of rape to loot an innocent man. She is theft and she should have died today,"
Within a minute I was in front of her and slapped her. No one deserves to die.
Nina turned her head to me in disbelief and her expression quickly change into fury she punch me in the face.
Then everything went black. I could feel slaps, kicks, punches and my hair being pulled. I could sense I am using my hand and legs to hit Nina as much as she is hitting me. At the same time, sparkles spread from my torso pulling me away from kicks and punches.
" Both of you stop fighting!" A roar forced me to stop shouting and made me stay still. Then I could see everything clearly, Disha stood in the middle of me and Nina while my pack members either held me or Nina.
Nina was no less looking like a beast. She was growling as she breathe hard and dipped in a red fury. The sound of cars entering the driveway broke my focus on Nina.
" Asha and Nina go to your rooms," Disha ordered but Nina pulled herself away and ran outside so quickly that no one was able to stop her. I ran out followed by my brothers because we know what she will do.
" Amma!" Nina shouted as she stood right in front of the car blocking the way.
" Nina," Everyone behind or beside me shouted while I lost every power in me because Amma quickly come out and hugged Nina worriedly.
" Asha read my medical report and said the therapist declared me a sociopath. She called me SOCIOPATH! Then she slapped me...I am a sociopath. I am a sociopath. I am a sociopath," Nina talked quickly in Tamil that anyone couldn't understand a word except Amma. She understood and trusted every single word that came out of Nina.
Amma looked at me with an expression of betrayal and anger that I had never seen before. While she hugs and comforted an uncontrollable crying Nina. I didn't notice when Papa come in front of me and raised his hand but Luv hold him.
" Papa, control yourself. Asha isn't a child any more than you can slap," Luv dragged Papa a bit far while Rohan and Khush stood in front of me protectively.
" Where were you when Asha slapped Nina?" Papa shouted loudly at Luv in anger and Luv flinch back in fear. Papa was an easygoing and calm person. He never raises his voice at my sibling or me ever. But Nina change it tonight.
" Nina was the one who started it," I shouted cryingly as I come forward.
" So you called her a sociopath and fought with her. Her whole face is swallowed, Asha," Papa shouted and that was when I notice she wasn't healing whereas I was completely healed. No evidence of her attack on me. So that makes her more of a victim.
" Will you never see her faults, Papa?" I question.
" Stop it," Dadi shouted before Papa could say something to me.
" Let's go inside and talk," She ordered and obeyed her without saying a word.
The teen cousins were on the stairs looking scared as they saw something they shouldn't. The elders were sitting on the sofas along with Nina who was being cuddled by Papa and Amma. Then Roshini, Yasmin, and Haniya were standing in the corner while Disha, Rohan and my brothers were standing around me.
" What happened between Asha and Nina? Luv, you have to explain since you are the oldest," Dadi ordered making Luv gulp.
" They were arguing about this girl named Geeta. Within a blink of an eye, they started to fight. But we all pulled them away right away," After Luv explained, Nina made a whining voice in pain as Papa place his hand on the back of her head.
" If you pulled both of them right away, why is Nina badly injured?" Papa yelled at Luv and the aura of dominance from Papa was more powerful than Disha's. It badly affected every werewolf especially Nina because she was sitting near him.
She ends up coughing badly and Meher Chachi quickly got a glass of water. This action of hers made Papa's aura reduce. That was the moment, I realise she has wrapped them around her fingers.
Wiping my tears away, I walked towards the door.
" Asha, where are you leaving?" Papa shouted so I turn around to answer him.
" No matter what will happen, you will support her. She will be first and everyone knows it,"
Then I left the house driving the car as I had the keys from earlier. The sound of honking made me see Roshini's car beside me and Rohan was driving. I don't want to talk to anyone so I increase the speed. And making sure to overtake many cars and then make sudden turns. After a while, I didn't see Roshini's car which was a relief.
There were two turns, one will have traffic based on the time and another will lead to a one-way road with no buildings for twenty kilometres as it's known for being haunted. I took the latter option as fast driving with the wind blowing my face will cheer me up.
As I was driving, I couldn't stop thinking about my childhood. Amma and Papa treated my sibling and me fair. But they had a kind and easy approach towards Nina because they were scared of her episode. Now that I know she sometimes fakes her episode just like today. She was overwhelmed with emotions that she couldn't hide them. She was feeling angry and nothing else otherwise she should have felt panic and disorientation.
My car suddenly stopped even though it had sufficient patrol. I try to restart it yet it failed. Then the car jerked from behind as if it was hit by something. I quickly went out to check. It was a brick.
Astra was alert as it was impossible for a brick to fall on my car in an area there is no building and filled with trees. As I turn, I felt hot paws on my chest which were later followed by a zing of electricity that erase any kind of power from me.
I couldn't feel the pain as I fell down on the road the electricity numbed me to the extent that the clear road was becoming blurry. Blinking my eyes to see clearly as I saw a figure coming out of the forest. As he squad down in front of me, I was able to recognise him.
