Chapter 326 - Chapter 321: The Hero Of Vengeance

"What are your plans, Valsiel?" I asked.

"If you break this crystal, it will reform infinitely. Cain has now lost all of his power. He is no stronger than a regular person at this point and has no control over me. You've done it... Right now, all of the Corruption across Creation should be dispersing. And it will never return...because I plan to keep this crystal with me always. Sealed with me here in the Abyss."

"So that means..."

"No one else will ever come here. And no one will ever be able to take this from me because I am every bit as powerful as I was when we fought. The Abyss will no longer be a kingdom, but rather a desolate hellscape with no leaders, rulers, or laws. All to prevent anyone from reaching for the throne...lest another Difar rise up to take this one's place. I won't let my Cain go ever again..."

"Is that enough for you, Mizik?" Isabella asked.

"Yeah...we can't kill him permanently, but his kingdom is destroyed, his power is gone forever, and he can't even maintain a physical form, it seems... There really are some fates worse than death... We're done here. Let's go..."

"May I help all of you get back?" Valsiel asked.

I nodded...and we were cloaked in darkness.

As the last of the invaders were placed back in the realm of Excelsis, Valsiel smiled at the crystal in her hands.

The entire landscape as well as the buildings above began to reform as she used what little power remained in the crystal. Even the civilizations existing at the bottom of the Abyss were rebuilt.

Valsiel now stood in the ancient castle created when the deep ones first became sentient. She stood in the dark throne room.

"Dammit...Valtheim... Please help me get my power back... Stop taking what little I have left..." It said.

She shook her head vigorously and then a sinister look of unhealthy adoration crept onto her face.

"Mmm...Nope! My beloved master will never ever have a form of his own! He was naughty...he almost died! Silly Lord Difar! They didn't see through it...but you did so easily! My master is wonderful and smart...ah...it makes me so warm and happy!"

"Damn you...traitor..."

"I would never! I must serve and protect my Master with all that I am! Even if that means disobeying him... So I will keep you here in the deepest part of the Abyss and hold you in my arms forever. Never letting go for even a second! How does that sound...Masteeerrrr?" Valtheim said with unhealthy adoration.

"Please...somebody kill me..."

"Ahahahahaha!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Valtheim laughed.

And after that...she sat on the ancient Abyssal throne with the crystal tucked securely in her arms between her breasts.

She would spend eternity cuddling with the crystal and speaking sweet words of love and obsession over it.

And for Difar...this was a fate worse than death. A grave that he had dug himself into...and could never get out of.

Without a body of his own, he couldn't even hope to move, rather than resist Valtheim.

And as the horror of what his eternity would be dawned on him, he screamed internally.

...all while Valtheim gently kissed the crystal she lovingly cuddled against her chest.

"Master is mine forever and ever!" Valtheim said with an obsessive smile.

And so...as everything began to calm down, we held a grand celebration in both Excelsis and Dominus. To not only celebrate our victory, but to announce my position as Artificer to Excelsis.

After much partying, relaxing, and playing around, I would retreat to my quarters on Dominus to lay with my wives and my mistress'.

For a while, I wasn't exactly sure of what to do with myself...

Until I got a letter addressed to me from a sender called: ALMIGHTY.

"To the newest Artificer and savior of my outer Creation, you have my thanks. I am not permitted by my oath to intervene in the outer realms, yet you have performed your duty admirably. I shall reward you thusly: you are permitted to continue your time alive in my Creation and serve as both my Artificer and Destroyer to any who might threaten my work again. You have suffered greatly...and so have those that you rescued. Your loved ones have each been given rest...and will live in a far away paradise filled with joy forever. Their suffering has passed. I will allow you to reach towards your goal of rebuilding your home and shall support you in this endeavor. May your life and service be fruitful and may your descendants number the stars in the sky."

~The Creator

I could only offer my thanks to him for sending such a thing to me.

And I decided at that point...that I wanted our home to finally be rebuilt.

I began with the blueprint of Avernia that originally existed...

I brought it back to its current state of complete ruin and began turning back the clock. I turned everything back to the start of the world and removed the Deus Arms from it completely. They would not need to exist on our world. Our allies and I would hold them forever now.

I saw the history of Avernia laid out in front of me...and began making changes.

I removed the Darius family from ever reaching nobility. Essentially making it impossible for Arvild to ever exist.

And still allowed the underground guild to appear along with the exile of my father.

I wanted something to do, after all, before my conquest...

Among many things in history, I appointed Kelvastiol as world dragon, but forced her to be complacent in her current life.

Since no one in this new world would have memories of the old things, it didn't matter anyway what I did...

I prevented Bronan Ironheart's wife from dying prematurely and kept his daughter alive as well.

Yes, Albatross and Kalsa would still go to war, but with far less casualties and a much better piece treaty.

My father met my mother and fell in love.

As they did this, I hugged both Isabella and Cassandra.

"It's simple..." I began. "Each of us will be reborn into New Avernia with our minds and powers intact. We'll grow up and reunite...then we will conquer the world as our own, creating a paradise for all who live there," I said.

"What about the rest of the crew?" Isabella asked.

"They will rest for a while and do as they please. And when we're ready, we'll let then rejoin us on the surface. We'll celebrate and work to create wonders together. Let's go, you two...we have a lot of work to do," I said.

The three of us passed into a tunnel of light.

With this, I could ensure that my early life wasn't hellish like before. And that I could grow up knowing what it was like to have two parents.

But my mom and dad didn't know that their son was the savior of Creation...nor that he remade the world as a better place than it was before.

That was okay. I didn't need their praise. I didn't care for it, either. My real parents had already given that to me in the Abyss.

Well...these two were my real parents. For the new body of mine, of course.

With my tampering of reality in this world, I made it possible for me to meet Isabella and Cassandra very quickly. I was only five, but they were both seven.

Ah...some things never change.

But despite both of them being involved in arranged marriages to other nobles, I made it impossible for any of them to go through. Eventually, I was old enough to marry and immediately went to them.

Once we wed, we laid claim to the throne of Albatross. As soon as the King and Queen passed, we ruled as a trio. We set new laws to make our land prosper and invented new technology to turn Albatross into a powerful nation.

Kalsa became angry at our actions and eventually, Tyranus attempted to take my life. He, and all the other members of my failed house, died in the resulting war. No one could withstand our might and Kalsa was absorbed into Albatross...which was renamed to Kneltol. As it always should have been.

Our capital was renamed to Aria. The underground guild was eradicated and gradually...the world fell under our control.

My mother and father eventually died of old age...proud that their son had become such a kind and powerful ruler of what was, at first, an enemy nation.

I vowed to my father that I would rebuild the honor of our house and that my descendants would carry on our legacy.

And that I did...

I fixed the genetic code on all of the female heart soldiers. I made it possible for the Conquerors to bear children without the energies killing the infants...but the result was that they would carry very little of their parents power. They would be mortal, as the circle of life demands. I also made it possible for my own seed to carry genetic material. As I wasn't originally designed to be capable of this as an Exo-Human.

Our descendants would be human...mostly. As Stella wasn't human, our offspring would be a mix...

Isabella gave birth to a son named Walter Iratus, after her beloved care taker who had passed away many years prior. Cassandra gave birth to a daughter that she begrudgingly named Karia, after my mother. She wanted a son to name Mizik...

Masina had two children that she blessed with elven attributes...something I wasn't aware that she could do. But apparently the moon goddess was capable of doing such a thing. Her people on the former world she dwelled over were elves that she had created.

Stella had a two sons of elven descent as well.

For my mistress', I decided not to allow the passing of the emerald eyes. I took that from them...but loved them all the same.

Nirani...chose not to bear children. She merely wanted to be a tool of pleasure and stress relief for me.

That was fine, but I still tried to treat her well enough...by the gods, she was weird...

Over time, our world of New Avernia became a wonderful new home. Especially since our crew joined to live there with us eternally.

And so...that was our story...

The crew...they were all family to me. I made sure to honor each and every one of them.

Because all of them continued to live by our side in our kingdom of New Avernia.

One day, I decided to sit down in my study by myself as Isabella and Cassandra prepared a meal for everyone. Isabella had become almost as good at cooking as her sister as of late...

I began writing in a book.

The hardships we dealt with so long ago now... The pain and suffering I endured feels like a bad dream at this point... And I am very glad to see that life is as prosperous as I once promised Nasumi it would be. We now have the luxury of living in a world without war, famine, or slavery. I have done my best to make things better for everyone...and I couldn't be happier to write these things. As I relax in my study, part of me misses the life and death struggles for survival that I grew accustomed to...but those must be a thing of the past. I no longer wish to fight. And as an old warrior, I cannot allow my past tendencies of violence to spring up again...lest I awaken the long-sealed part of myself that came to be after losing my mind in the Abyss. That part of me still exists...and it is still VERY dangerous! But thankfully, I have not been anywhere near stressed or desperate enough to lose myself like that ever again. I am lucky to have survived this long...and to have such wonderful people in my life. As the darkness of our past fades, I find myself telling stories to the young ones about what we went through to build the new world. I am thankful as well that they believed me once I showed them visions of back then. And you know what? Despite everything...they called me a hero! Valsiel called me a hero, too...but I didn't want to accept the title...

Because every time I hear our children call me such, it just...wears me down.

Maybe...just maybe, I can accept the title.

But I am not a normal hero. I am a hero that is willing to do the unthinkable...the darkest and most abominable things imaginable, to achieve his goal. And that is exactly what I did. I killed trillions for the greater good! And yet...it does not haunt me. Their souls were saved from the Abyss...and from Difar, thanks to me. Yes...I will accept the title.

For I am Mizik Iratus...The Hero of Vengeance.

I heard the door to my study creak as a little girl poked her head in. She had long hair tied in twin tails behind her head. Her hair was black with streaks of pink in it.

Her eyes were emerald green just like mine...

"Daddy!" She called affectionately.

She ran over and wrapped her arms around me.

"Ah, hey Karia! What is it? You know daddy needs time to write, dont you?" I said with a smile.

"I know...but Mommy said to tell you that dinner is ready. And umm...that she loves you! I love you as well, Daddy!"

"You're so cute... Gah!" I petted her head and felt something warm roll down my cheek.

"Oh no...why are you crying, Daddy? Are you sad!? Don't be sad...Karia is here!"

"Sorry...you know how it is, little one. Daddy has a lot of bad memories and they come back sometimes. So he has to write them out to make them go away."

"But Daddy is a hero! He saved sooooo many people and made the world a better place!"

"Yes...yes I did. I'm not perfect, but I certainly tried my best to make things better. Hey, how about we get something to eat? I'm starving! I'll race you!" I said.

"You're gonna lose!" She said quickly. She let go and scampered off.

I slowly stood up and looked at the journal I had been writing in. Then I closed it and put it away.

I smiled as I wiped away my tears.

That's right...I am a hero. I am Mizik Iratus...The Hero of Vengeance.
