After Iris and Johann left Ignitus, they arrived at the Divine Transit Station in Excelsis.
It was possible to enter and exit the realm wherever a god or goddess pleased, but...
It was generally considered poor etiquette and somewhat dangerous to not use the station. After all, appearing on top of someone could seriously injure them and was also quite rude.
Nevertheless, Iris and Johann exited the station and walked a short ways.
"Would you mind if I visited my daughter? I haven't seen her in a while and i need to make sure my home world is safe," Johann said.
"You mean your apprentice?" Iris said.
"Well...she's more like a daughter. But yeah. I shouldn't be long."
"Hmm...that should be fine. Sorry...I'm just really scared for Ignitus..."
"No need to apologize. I understand. I need to make sure my home is safe," Johann said with a gentle smile.
"Of course. Could you meet me near the council building? If we're looking for divine artifacts of the Creator, that would be the best place to start," Iris said.
"I'll be there, don't worry. See you in a few!" Johann said.
Then he rushed off to go see his apprentice.
Iris just sighed.
Then she made her way up to the council building and sat down on a bench outside.
As she watched the other gods roam around, no one seemed to notice her or say a single word.
Truthfully, Iris was okay with it. She didn't like being bothered by the stuck-up and 'holier-than-thou' gods and goddesses in this place.
Iris loved her people on Ignitus and her Enforcers. That was enough
Unfortunately...
The worst-case scenario had happened recently.
The Black Ooze had found its way onto Ignitus...and Iris had a creeping fear that her world would cease to exist just like Avernia.
Iris waited for a while and eventually, Johann returned. He seemed content.
Honestly...Johann was the only real friend Iris had here. He was a trusted and dear ally to Iris. Even if he was a tad weird.
Johann approached Iris and gave her a determined smile.
"Let's go!" He said.
Iris got up and the two of them made their way towards the council building's entrance.
They were stopped by two guards.
"Halt! You two are not permitted entry! Iris caused far too much of a disturbance last time and Johann isn't even a registered god of this divine realm!"
Iris snapped her fingers and her divine scales appeared on her back.
Immediately, they tipped towards the light side and both of the guards were bound in place.
"Hmm...I thought you two would be worse... But I guess you're just doing your job. Please don't hold this against me. My precious Ignitus is in danger and I only do this to protect my world," Iris said.
"Y-you! Unhand us!!! Why do you always cause trouble!?" One of them said.
"It's not on purpose! I just don't care for your politics. Goodbye," Iris said as the two of them walked by the guards and into the building.
They shouted in protest, but their cries were ignored.
After they entered the building, they went to find some of the council members...
Shortly after entering the main council chamber, many guards arrived and surrounded the duo.
"What? What's going on here!?" Iris said.
There was a bright flash of light and the Oracle appeared.
"Why must you continue to cause problems, Iris?" The Oracle said.
"Hey, old lady...can you let us go?" Johann asked nicely.
He was ignored.
"Look...the Black Ooze found its way onto Ignitus! We need an artifact of the Creator to stop it. Can you help me, Oracle?" Iris asked.
"And why should I do that? Your world is already infected at its core. It can no longer be saved. Besides, the Source is far too powerful for the likes of you or your Enforcers... Even the Chosen Hero isn't anywhere close to being ready for that battle... Ugh... Just like always..." The Oracle explained.
Iris felt her heart sink in her chest. She dropped do her knees.
"N-no...NOOOOOO!!! MY PEOPLE!!! PLEASE!!! YOU HAVE TO HELP ME!!! MY PEOPLE ARE IN DANGER!!!!" Iris screamed as tears fell down her cheeks.
"I have no mercy for someone that would change the threads of fate and interfere with my plans. In fact, I'm still looking for the one who made that girl survive," The Oracle said coldly.
"Iris...I don't think we can reason with her. Let's get back to Ignitus. We need to come up with a plan. Perhaps some of the other gods would be willing to help. We can go to Avalon or even Dominus to-"
"I think not, Johann. We have tolerated your presence in this realm for far too long."
At once, the Oracle raised her hand. Both Johann and Iris were bound in place.
"I hate using my power in this form, but it will have to do. Iris, you are no longer allowed to visit Ignitus. It is a lost world. Don't worry, you'll be reassigned. And Johann, you are hereby exiled from Excelsis. You and your little apprentice both. Now, go back to your realm reading over that pitiful barbaric world," The Oracle said coldly.
She snapped her fingers and Johann disappeared in a flash of dark green energy.
Iris simply remained on her knees as several guards lowered their halberds to her throat.
"You will be placed in a prison cell. There, you will wait until Ignitus is no longer standing. This is to ensure that the Source doesn't have the opportunity to steal your power. Although, I suppose it isn't an issue if the Source kills Mizik. Then we can start over again," The Oracle said.
She raised her hand and closed it towards Iris.
Her hands, neck, and feet were bound in dark green energy.
"Take her to the underground prison. Once Ignitus has fallen, release her," the Oracle said.
Iris continued sobbing and whimpering as she was taken underground and thrown in a cell.
The cell was a plain, gray stone box with an iron door. There were blue flames on several torches that hung from the walls.
The iron door had a small window with bars on it. At the same time, there were crystal runes etched into the floor and walls that nullified her power.
She sat there for a while until...
A small orb of light entered through the ceiling.
Iris looked at it in confusion...then she recognized its power.
"D...dan...te...?" Iris said as it gently hovered into her hand.
She heard a whisper from it.
"I'm sorry, Iris... I helped the others escape...but Kyriel got me..." The orb said.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!!! DANTE!!!! WHY!?!?" Iris screamed as she hugged the orb tightly and wept loudly.
"I can't apologize enough... We found something to give us a boost in power. Now we can fight back. But my battle is over at this point. Are you...going to release me...? I hate the idea of not being able to serve anymore..." Dante said.
"I...I have to...don't I? I don't want to... But you have to pass on... Why...how could this have happened!?"
"Thank you... And I can tell you, but-"
"Hold on, Dante... I can hear Johann," Iris said as she felt Johann contacting her through telepathy.
"Iris! Where are you!? Are you okay!?"
"I'm fine, Johann... Please don't worry about me. Just get back to Ignitus! Evacuate the Enforcers! Dante was killed, but I still have his soul! I'm going to keep him safe for now! Unfortunately, I'll have to release him soon... Please! You have to save everyone! I'm counting on you!"
"I understand. I'll get everyone out of there."
After that, Iris could no longer hear Johann...
She sat silently in her cell and continued weeping.
At the same time...she began to talk with Dante.
* * *
Iris had no idea how much time passed in that cell.
She didn't need food or rest, but preferred to have them out of habit.
The prisons in Excelsis were not so kind, however. Especially the one below the divine council building
She simply sat in her cell speaking with Dante.
She had already cried so much that she couldn't continue anymore.
Because she was worried about her Enforcers...as well as the rest of Ignitus.
Iris decided to lay down on the floor and stare at the ceiling.
"How long have I been here...? Does this mean that they're still putting up a fight?" Iris asked.
"I hope so... I gave my life for those flowers... Carlos put them to good use. I can't imagine how bad things got after I died, though..." Dante said.
Iris looked over at the small floating orb of cyan light that housed a fragment of her power as well as the soul of her most treasured Enforcer.
"I really wish...we could have been more than friends..." Iris said.
"I'm sorry, Iris. It isn't that you aren't beautiful. It isn't that you aren't a wonderful person, either. I just couldn't bring myself to destroy what we already had. I treasured serving as your Enforcer. Ah...I can feel myself beginning to fade now..." Dante said.
"Then I guess...this is goodbye. Dante, I truly loved you. Actually, I still do. You were the greatest Enforcer who ever lived. You saved us from destruction and I will never forget that."
"You honor me, Iris. Serving you was the most enjoyable thing I ever did. Thank you for everything. Now please...avenge everyone. Make those bastards pay for attacking Ignitus. I'll never forget you, Iris," Dante said.
Iris could tell that if he still possessed a body, he would likely be crying. She could feel a great sorrow in him as she touched the orb.
And as tears once again began to fall... She spoke the words she had hoped to never say.
"Enforcer Seat 1, Dante Cooper...leader of the Enforcers... I thank you for your service. For your unbreakable will to protect and serve the people of our beloved world. Thank you for the blood you shed...for the wars you helped us wage...and the lives you saved. I...I release you... Into the arms of the Creator. Be free...and please know that you will not be forgotten," Iris said.
"Thank you, Iris. It was an honor," Dante said.
Iris severed Dante's soul from her power and it passed on.
As Iris wept silently while holding the remnants of Dante's power, she could see the two Aspects he once held beginning to fade and converge.
"Dante Cooper...I will never forget you. Thank you for everything..."
The Aspects converged and melted into a simple orb of Iris' residual power. She absorbed it back into her chest and smiled weakly.
"There will never be another man like you... I can't say enough..." Iris said quietly to herself.
A moment later, she felt something else in the air and a voice contacted her.
"Iris! It's Johann! Where are you!?"
"I'm in a cell underneath the council building. What's going on?"
"No time to explain everything. I'm coming to get you! We need to save Mizik and Isabella! They're fighting the Source!"
"I understand. I'm ready at a moment's notice."
"Dante? Wish me luck, okay? I'll do my best to make sure no one else ends up dying," Iris said.
A few minutes went by and Iris heard explosions overhead.
Soon after that, they got closer until the door swung open and Johann offered his staff to Iris.
She grabbed it and was pulled out of the room. As soon as Iris left the room, she felt her power returning immediately.
"Let's get back to Ignitus!" Johann said.
He activated his divine power and both he and Iris were immediately placed in rapid transit.
"Johann! Are you sure this was a good idea!? Attacking a divine realm is a serious crime!" Iris said.
"I don't care! You're my friend! I want to help you save your Enforcers! Although, we already failed to save your world. Also...Michael and Gavin... They were eaten by Valtheim."
Iris felt a heavy wave of grief and sadness form in her heart again.
She already knew that they had likely ceased to exist...
"I won't cry now... I can't cry anymore... How is everyone else?" Iris said.
"Currently, Difar told Rune, Leiso, Jallah, and Carlos to stay out of the fight. Valtheim went after me, but I lost her when I came to get you. Those four are alive, but...Mizik and Isabella are fighting Difar and Kyriel," Johann said.
"Kyriel is one of the Source's Generals, right? And...who is this Difar?"
"His name is Cain Difar. He's the Source of the Black Ooze...or rather as he calls it...The Corruption."
"So it's called Corruption? I see... Very well then. Let's hope we aren't too late!"
* * *
When Iris and Johann appeared back on Ignitus, the first thing Iris saw was the horrific landscape. She had prepared for a fight and entered her supreme form. Unfortunately, it wasn't permitted. Iris wasn't at full strength.
Johann was also using his maximum power while remaining in humanoid form.
The sky had darkened as a result of the Corruption and Torantis was in ruins.
"I won't cry...not right now! I have to make sure my Enforcers are safe!"
Iris then felt an immense pressure.
She looked down at its source and saw a man with white hair holding Mizik by the throat...
Without a doubt...that was the Source of the Corruption.
Immediately, the man looked up at Iris. He had a sadistic glare with medium-length white hair and dark purple eyes.
"Ugh...earlier than usual, are we...?" He said.
"UNHAND HIM RIGHT THIS INSTANT, YOU MURDERER!!!" Iris screamed.
"Umm...okay... I'll let him go then! Sound good? ALL BECAUSE YOU ASKED, YOU ANNOYING WASHBOARD!!!" Difar yelled angrily.
"No! Mizik!"
Then the man, supposedly Cain Difar, let go of Mizik.
Difar had been holding Mizik by the throat in front of a black portal. From what Iris could tell, it was the Firmament.
It was unlikely that Mizik would survive a trip through such a place.
He drifted back into the portal slowly... Unable to protest...
Then Isabella jumped to her feet and charged through the field towards the closing portal.
She had been crouching next to a pile of ashes.
"STOP HER, DAMMIT!!!" One of the Generals screamed in rage.
He came close to hitting Isabella, but she dodged the attack and punched him hard in response.
He was sent tumbling back as another General tried to grab her.
She dodged his attack, picked him up by the arm, and threw him at the one she punched.
"GAH!!! WHAT'S WITH THIS STRENGTH!?" He said.
Then Isabella quickly ducked down and grabbed Vengeance. She placed it in her inventory and charged at the portal.
Just before jumping, Iris yelled out to her.
"WAIT!!! NOOO! ISABELLA!!!"
Something was off about her. She couldn't tell how because of everything going on...but she seemed different...
Regardless, she leaped past Valtheim and Difar...straight into the portal.
"Huh. That was weird... Oh well! Let's see what happens then! CAN'T BE ANY WORSE THAN LAST TIME!" Difar said as the portal closed completely.
"No...Mizik...Isabella..." Iris said hopelessly.
"IRIS!!!" Leiso shouted.
Iris snapped back to herself and flew down to the ground. Johann followed.
"ENFORCERS! TO ME!!!" Iris shouted.
Leiso, Jallah, and Carlos all ran to her immediately. Rune followed.
"Iris! That man is far too powerful for us to deal with! We could really use your help!" Leiso said urgently.
"Don't worry. Just stand back! I need to make him pay for what he did to my world!" Iris growled.
"Awwww! Isn't that cute!? The little goddess of balance is gonna give me a spanking! GO AHEAD AND TRY IT, YOU STUPID BITCH!!!" Difar said mockingly.
"Everyone, prepare to be evacuated. I don't know if I can really take him..." Iris said hesitantly.
"We'll do our best. That's all we can say," Johann chimed in.
"Valtheim, sweetie! Why don't you sit this one out? I'll call for you when I'm bored. Then you can send them to the Abyss just like I told you. I'm going to prove a point," Difar said.
"Yes..." Valtheim said.
She looked at Iris and stepped back.
Iris was quite surprised to see her and the other two Generals without their masks. Although the female General seemed to be missing...
Regardless, it was odd that Valtheim had the appearance of a beautiful young girl with long gray hair.
Even more odd...was that when Iris and Valtheim locked eyes, Iris cringed in fear.
Her eyes were normal-looking for the most part. And her pupils were pitch black.
But when Iris locked eyes with her, Valtheim's eyes seemed to fade into darkness.
It was like gazing into the Void itself. And the Void also gazed back into Iris.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood up as her instincts told her to run away in terror. Iris immediately looked away...but couldn't shake Valtheim's gaze.
"Isn't she just adorable? I made her myself. Valtheim is my secret weapon, you know? She's so powerful and difficult to kill that even I would have trouble with it," Difar said.
"What...WHAT IS THAT ABOMINATION!?!?" Iris shouted fearfully.
"Valtheim, Avatar of the Void. Envoy of Nothingness. She's here but also not here. She is the true embodiment of the Void. All who face her cease to exist. Like I said, she's my secret weapon. My bodyguard, and my right-hand woman. BY THE ABYSS, I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! RIGHT, SWEETIE!?!?" Difar said with a crooked smile.
"Yes...Lord Difar..." Valtheim said as she turned her gaze towards him.
Difar cringed slightly as he looked away from her.
"Dammit...don't do that shit to me! This is why I have you wear a mask!" Difar said.
"Mask...?" Valtheim said as she tilted her head quizzically held her mask near her face.
"No. Keep it off. Just stop looking at me with those eyes of yours, dammit!'
Valtheim averted her gaze and kept her eyes forward.
"Yes..."
"That's a good girl."
"That thing is...obedient to him...?" Iris said fearfully.
"Yeah. It nearly killed me earlier. But I think Difar is much worse," Johann said.
"Alright, I think I've had enough banter. Here's how this is gonna work. I'm going to beat you both into submission, then have Valtheim take you to the Abyss. I'll Corrupt you and turn your essence into more power for me. Why don't you just give up?" Difar said.
"Give up...? WHEN THE PERSON WHO DESTROYED MY PRECIOUS WORLD IS RIGHT HERE!? I THINK NOT!!! I'LL KILL YOU, YOU BASTARD!!!" Iris screamed in rage.
"Suit yourself. But don't say I didn't warn you..." Difar said in a sinister tone.
"Lord Difar, shall we deal with her Enforcers?" The red haired General asked.
"SHUT THE HELL UP TYRAS!!! I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT!" Difar yelled.
At once, both Tyras and the other General cowered in fear and backed away.
Then Difar glanced at Valtheim.
"Send them back to the Abyss," he said.
"I...obey..." Valtheim said.
The two generals were enveloped in darkness and disappeared.
"Good. Now I can go ALL OUT!!"
Difar raised his massive black claymore and dark purple energy violently exploded around the area.
"LET ME SHOW YOU THE POWER OF AN ABYSSAL GOD!!!"
Difar swung his sword in a downward arc.
A massive wave of black energy exploded into the ground, causing the landscape to shake and explode for miles around.
Johann flew high into the air as Iris raised her Enforcers and Rune up off of the ground.
"I'll keep you up here! Don't worry about us!" Iris said.
They all nodded as Iris and Johann flew down to meet Difar in battle.
Iris held out her hand and her scales tipped as far to the left as possible.
The left weight was now pointing straight down.
"You're a truly diabolical enemy... By the Creator... What the hell is this incredible malice!?" Iris exclaimed.
"TIME TO DIE, IRIS!!!" Difar shouted.
Enormous black wings aprouted from his back and he shot straight towards her.
Johann caught his claymore in mid air and blasted Difar back to the ground.
"SORRY, IRIS! BUT I'M TURING IGNITUS INTO A WEAPON!!!" Johann shouted.
He flipped his staff and threw it straight into the ground.
After it impacted, the landscape began violently erupting as he held his hands up.
Johann's wings spread out as fire rained from the sky.
"GAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO TRY HARDER THAN THAT!!!"
Suddenly, the sinister energy erupted all over the landscape and the flames Johann had created turned black.
Iris watched in horror as the world itself began to open into a gaping maw full of teeth.
"By the Creator... What have you done to my world...?" Iris said.
As she spoke, hundreds of giant tentacles rose from the ground and split into dragonic heads at the ends.
They opened their mouths and began firing black lasers at the two of gods.
Iris and Johann dodged the attacks, but at the same time, they heard laughing.
"GAHAHAHAHA!!! DANCE FOR ME!!! FLY AROUND YOU LITTLE INSECTS!!!! DIE SCREAMING IN A PIT OF CORRUPTION!!!"
Iris raised her hands and the energy she had been holding in exploded.
She rained down thousands of teal energy streams at the location of Difar.
Johann summoned his staff back to himself and rained fire down as well.
Suddenly, Difar appeared behind Iris and slashed her with his glowing claymore. She managed to block it with her divine scales, but was launched straight into the mouth of the giant maw that Ignitus had become.
Johann looked desperately at her as Difar flew straight at him as well.
He blocked and parried Difar's attacks, but one of his wings warped into a black dragon head.
It clamped its mighty jaws into Johann's shoulder and threw him into the ground.
Difar followed and before he could reach Johann, Iris blasted him away with several energy streams.
She used her magic to grab and bind him in mid air then gritted her teeth.
"Oh? What's this? You're trying to hold me? THAT'S PRETTY DAMN CUTE, IRIS!!!" Difar yelled with a sadstic smile.
His body melted out of the bindings and a black dragon head swung itself into Iris.
She dodged it and the dragon head opened its mouth...
Standing there was a smiling Difar.
"You can't beat me here. This world is an extension of my power. It is a hive of Corruption...AND IT BENDS TO MY WILL!"
Iris' face twisted into fear as she darted away from Difar.
Johann regrouped with her and the dragon head holding Difar in its mouth rose up out of the world's gaping maw.
Difar yawned.
"This is boring. Yeah...I'm fighting two gods at the same time and I'm bored. You two should have left when you had the chance. AND NOW VALTHEIM IS GOING TO EAT YOU!!! GO GET 'EM, GIRL!!!"
As soon as he spoke, thousands of eyes opened in the sky.
"Wh-what is this...!? HOW IS HE SO STRONG!?" Iris said fearfully.
"Iris! We need to leave, NOW!!!" Johann said.
Valtheim appeared in front of them. Her gaze was as terrifying and lifeless as the Void itself.
"I...obey..." Valtheim said coldly.
"GAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I'M GOING TO ENJOY THIS!!!" Difar shouted.
His body melted into the dragon and its eyes glowed intensely.
It held its mouth open as it began to speak.
"TAKE THEM TO THE ABYSS!!! CONSUME THEM! KILL THOSE USELESS ENFORCERS!!! GAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! DESTROY EVERYTHING!!!"
"I...obey..."
Valtheim shot straight at Iris and Johann as the void eyes began firing black lasers at them.
They tried helplessly to dodge as Valtheim assaulted them relentlessly.
The two unleashed a barrage of fire streams, lava geysers, teal-colored energy blasts, and exploding bolts of teal lightning at Valtheim...
She simply paused and devoured their attacks.
"KEEP UP THE ATTACKS!!! SHE CAN'T MOVE WHILE EATING!!! ENFORCERS! ATTACK THIS THING!!!" Johann shouted.
The remaining three Enforcers attacked with lightning, water, metal thorns, fire, and blood as the five of them threw everything they had at Valtheim.
"NO NO NO...THAT WON'T WORK! I'M BEING SERIOUS!!! THAT ISN'T A WEAKNESS, IT'S A FEATURE!!!" The giant dragon head said.
Valtheim turned her gaze at the Enforcers and raised her hands.
Several Void eyes appeared around them all.
Their attacks stopped as they couldn't help but stare into them. They were frozen in silence.
"NOOOO!!!" Iris screamed.
The void eyes opened into mouths and tried to bite into the four people still floating.
Iris moved them away from the eyes and went to them.
Johann followed as Valtheim began to move again.
"I will...devour..." Valtheim said.
"Hey...umm...Valtheim? Would you mind letting us go?" Johann said hesitantly.
"..."
She simply stared as her hands changed info mouths full of sharp teeth.
"I will...devour...!" she said.
"IRIS!!! PLEASE GET US OUT OF HERE!!!" Carlos shouted fearfully.
"HOLD ON!!!" Iris shouted.
Just before Valtheim reached them, Iris and Johann forced the group into the divine transit.
Within the divine transit, Iris looked back at her world as it began to grow smaller...and her eyes widened in horror.
Valtheim had entered the divine transit and was chasing them.
"H-how can it do that!?!?" Iris said fearfully.
"That abomination followed me the same way when I left to get you! Hold on, everyone!!!" Johann roared.
He assumed his dragon form and everyone grabbed onto his back.
Johann flew as quickly as he could through the divine transit and Valtheim followed in pursuit.
"There is...no escape... I...will devour...!" she said.
Her voice sounded as if it were coming from everywhere at once.
Eyes began to appear around Johann and the group.
"JOHANN!!!" Iris screamed in terror.
Finally...they reached Excelsis.
They flew through the barrier and Iris saw Valtheim slam into it.
Her form flickered and dispersed a second later.
* * *
As the six of them finally arrived in Excelsis, Johann landed near the divine transit station. He changed back into his humanoid form and the others tried to collect themselves.
The Oracle immediately arrived with a legion of guards and surrounded them afterward.
"You've really done it this time, Iris," she simply said.
"YOU BITCH!!! MY WORLD WAS DESTROYED AND THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY!? HOW DARE YOU!!!" Iris screamed in rage.
"How unsightly. To think a goddess would care so much for the world she was simply assigned to protect. Why do you risk your life for such a thing?" The Oracle asked.
Iris was shaking with rage at the comment. She took a deep breath and glared at the Oracle.
"I don't expect a heartless old crone to understand. They were like children to me...MY CHILDREN! I loved them like they were my own family! Each and every one of them! Is that reason enough!?" Iris said coldly.
"Hmm...I suppose so. But the Creator will be the judge of your actions. The same goes for Johann," the Oracle said.
"I figured I wouldn't get out of this unscathed..." Johann said.
"What about my Enforcers?" Iris said.
"Send them to your apartment. They will be dealt with later. Although if you are executed, that problem will take care of itself."
"Very well, but let me lead them there... They haven't been before. I'll return to the council building when I'm done. I won't run away," Iris said.
The Oracle nodded and Iris took the Enforcers to her rarely-used apartment in Excelsis.
It was tiny and a bit cramped, but it would do.
They wanted to talk to Iris, but that would have to wait. She promised them that she would eventually return.
* * *
"We now begin the trials of both Iris, goddess of balance, and Johann, the dragon god of an unaffiliated hidden world. Iris has committed the crimes of returning to a lost world and escaping prison. Defying the Oracle and fighting the Abyssal god of Corruption, Cain Difar, without permission. She is also guilty of using her supreme form without approval. Johann is guilty of destroying a part of the council building in Excelsis, killing several guards in the process, and aiding in the escape of a criminal. I hereby push your case to the Creator," the Oracle said.
This trial was actually kept secret from the other gods in the realm. Mainly due to the nature of the information in the crimes.
Cain Difar, the Source of the Corruption, had been mentioned.
That alone was enough to hide it.
It also confirmed something about the crisis for Iris...
Not only did they know of the situation, but they were doing everything they could to hide it and solve the problem from behind the scenes.
Both Johann and Iris bowed their heads as the Oracle turned towards the massive empty white throne behind her.
She knelt down and looked up as her eyes opened and glowed with a bright light.
Once it had finished, she closed them again.
"But...my Lord! Please reconsider-"
There was loud thundering as the Oracle stopped speaking.
"Y-yes...I understand... Thy will be done..." The Oracle said.
She turned to the two gods and sighed.
"All charges...are once again dropped. Johann may continue to visit Excelsis. Additionally, Iris' Enforcers will be allowed to live here as long as they wish. By order of the Almighty Creator..." the Oracle said.
"We're free?" Johann said.
"Yes...now get out of here!" The Oracle said angrily.
After that, the two left.
Iris and Johann had quite a bit of work to do. The first thing Iris wanted to do was locate Mizik and Isabella.
That would be her focus for now.
