After she was forced to leave by Difar, she moved far away.
I watched as Kyriel cried her eyes out inside of an old building far away.
"Miziiiiik! Miziiiiiik! Why can't I be yours!?!? I don't want to be Corrupted anymore!!! Waaaaahhhhhh!!!" She cried aloud.
After crying for a while, she stopped and looked up.
"Eh? It feels like those two filthy maggots are fighting something...AH!!! MIZIK!!!"
Kyriel jumped up and ran as fast as she could to the area.
When she arrived, she looked on at Axiom and Tyras in rage.
She unsheathed her dagger and it began to radiate a heavy purple aura.
"You...MAGGOTS!!! YOU BASTARDS!!! HOW DARE YOU!!!" She thought angrily.
"No, Kyriel...you cannot fight him!" Tyras said as he got to his feet.
Kyriel looked at Tyras and then at me.
"WHAT THE HELL MAKES YOU THINK I WANT TO FIGHT MIZIK!? MY BELOVED MUST BE PROTECTED!!! GET AWAY FROM HIM!!! IF YOU KILL MIZIK, YOU'LL RUIN EVERYTHING!!!"
"Your foolish obsession with him makes you a liability. You are not equipped to handle him. BACK OFF! AND DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK TO HIM!" Axiom shouted as he stepped forward.
"I WASN'T PLANNING ON SPEAKING, YOU INSIGNIFICANT WORM!!!"
"Axiom...I may need your assistance, after all," Tyras said.
Kyriel pointed at me and waved her dagger at them rapidly
"If you hurt him...I'LL KILL YOU A THOUSAND TIMES!!! BACK AWAY FROM MY DARLING!!! I'LL KILL YOU ALL!!!!"
"IF YOU RUIN THIS, YOU'RE GOING BACK IN THE PIT, KYRIEL!!!" Tyras yelled.
"You fool. I have no intention of doing anything other than protecting him! Lord Difar gave specific instructions NOT to kill him! Although...perhaps I could take the opportunity to let my darling know that I'm on his side!"
She immediately stopped and turned around. Seconds later, she swung her dagger and several streams of dark purple energy impacted the wall in front of her.
The dark magic streams carved and burned a message into the wall.
Kyriel turned back around and crouched as she silently sheathed her dagger and stared at me.
"I love you, Mizik! Be careful! They're actually kind of strong."
"That's...flattering... But I'm married, so..." Mizik said as he read the message.
Kyriel pulled out her dagger and carved the wall again.
"I don't mind sharing! As long as you're happy! If you're happy, then I'm happy!" She thought to herself.
Tyras and Axiom both had their hands over their faces.
"Her affections are wasted on that man... Doesn't she know who that is?" Tyras said.
"I think it's the reason why she feels the way she does... Still, it's stupid and pointless..." Axiom said.
"Are...are you guys jealous or something?" Mizik asked hesitantly.
"WE ARE NOT JEALOUS, YOU BASTARD!" Axiom said.
"Actually, they are jealous. You're so perceptive, darling!"
"Why'd you get so angry, then?" Mizik asked.
Axiom clenched his fists and stomped the ground repeatedly.
"BASTARD! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU SO MUCH!"
"Ehehehehe! You're so funny, Mizik! You made them angry!"
"And while we're speaking of her... Why isn't Kyriel allowed to talk?" Mizik asked in an attempt to stall them.
"She's allowed to talk. She's just not allowed to talk to you," Tyras said.
"I hate this rule! I want Mizik to hear my voice! I want to tell him I love him and that he's safe with me! I want to hold him in my arms and shower him with love! Haaaah...darling! Let me wrap you up and warm you with my love!!!"
"Why is that?" Mizik asked.
"Because she would run her mouth and tell you everything about us. Just...ignore her. She's insane," Tyras said.
"DON'T YOU DARE TELL HIM TO IGNORE ME, TYRAS!!!"
Mizik looked over at Kyriel and she was waving her dagger angrily at Tyras again.
Then a shadowy rift opened behind them and Valtheim stepped out of it.
Everyone immediately tensed up as soon as she stepped onto the field.
"Eeehhhh...why does Difar keep such a monster!? Valtheim is scary... Please save me, Mizik!"
"Why...?" She said as she pointed to the younger me and looked at Tyras
"He's...much stronger than anticipated... We also don't have control over this world yet, so we're not at full power..." Tyras said.
"Irrelevant..." Valtheim said as she drew close to Tyras.
"Please just eat him. He hurt Mizik! He deserves death."
"A-axiom...help me capture Mizik...NOW!" Tyras shouted.
"Capture!? Why can't we just kill him!?" Axiom said.
"DON'T YOU DARE!!"
"BECAUSE MASTER SAID TO CAPTURE HIM! AND I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK INTO THE PIT RIGHT NOW!!!" Tyras screamed.
"Fine...we can hand him off to Kyriel once he's been subdued. She'll keep him safe," Axiom said as he unsheathed Hatred.
Then Kyriel let a noise escape her mouth upon hearing the words.
"Ahhn!?"
"No! I...I let out a noise... But...I can have...Mizik!? This early!? Did Lord Difar allow this!? I...I must have him!!!"
After that, she silently cheered for the other two Generals for victory. But as the battle pressed on, she came to a realization.
"If Mizik is forcefully given to me... Won't he be unhappy...? If he's not happy...then it's like I'm...hurting him again... No...NOOOOO!!! I MUST HELP HIM!!! BUT I...I...I have to...follow orders... If not, I'll never see him again!"
After that, Kyriel silently wept behind her mask.
Difar successfully infected the world and all of the Generals...even the Corrupted Soldiers, got stronger.
Soon after that, Johann appeared. Kyriel fought him, but was unable to do any real harm. Then he escaped with Mizik.
Kyriel tried to catch up...if only to see his face once more. But alas, Iris appeared and they teleported away.
Days later, they came back and arrived at the crater in central.
This was a turning point for Kyriel and her ideals.
It was at this battle, that she came to a full realization that she could never have Mizik to herself.
Forcing him to part with Isabella would be painful and stressful for him. He would despair. He would hate her for it.
Kyriel decided that day, that she would find a way to be by Mizik's side along with Isabella for his happiness. And of course...that meant escaping the clutches of Difar as well.
While I watched the meeting unfold, I could see that Kyriel completely understood why I intended to be her opponent. She didn't want to, fight of course, because it wasn't allowed.
Also, because she couldn't bring herself to hurt me.
And when she cowered in front of me, she cried because she couldn't stand my tone, my gaze, and the pressure of being forced to become my enemy again.
I actually pitied her. And at this point, I was truly beginning to accept that her feelings were genuine.
I mean, I would have to be an idiot not to realize by now, right?
Cassandra was beyond obsessed with me.
On the way to Torantis, Kyriel was in charge of hunting the Enforcers. But she had been told not to attack if I was nearby.
She was thankful for the fact that we decided to stick together instead of staying apart. She didn't want to be the one who killed my friends.
Although, she was actually the one who slew the former leader of the Enforcers...
She knew I would be furious with her, but she was only doing as she was told. She didn't want to disobey and be sent back to the pit. She didn't want to never see me again...
Kyriel was eventually taken, along with Tyras, Axiom, and Difar, by Valthiem to the remains of the Torantis Enforcer HQ.
Valtheim could apparently transport people using the Void as a medium to wherever she pleased.
This resulted in Difar having access to an infinite number of worlds. Truly terrifying.
The group was moved to the place where the shadow dragon had been defeated.
Difar spoke with everyone and revealed himself at last to the group.
Eventually, Kyriel was allowed to speak...
She had kept her end of the bargain.
Then, Kyriel watched in horror as Difar annihilated Mizik on the field of battle while she was forced to keep her sister busy.
In her rising anger, she subdued Isabella quickly despite her protests.
She was able to win easily because of Deception.
Now...she glared angrily at Difar as he mocked her beloved and held him by his throat.
Kyriel knew she had to come up with something...
First, she cast an illusion to silence her and Isabella. Only the two of them could hear each other.
"Isabella...can you hear me?" Kyriel whispered.
"Ngh....what...what is it...?" Isabella managed to say.
"I'm so sorry for hurting you... I was following orders. I need your help!"
"H-help...? Why!? After all of this...why should I help you!?"
"Because...I don't want to be your enemy! I want to help you...and Mizik! Please!" Kyriel said in a hurried whisper.
"How...how can I help...?" Isabella whispered back.
"Lord Difar is going to hurt Mizik! I want to save him and escape from Lord Difar. Will you trust me?"
"How could I possibly trust you!? After everything you've done..."
"I know it's difficult... I've been really bad... I deserve death... But I want to be near Mizik. I want to help you get back to him as well. Can you please believe me? Please...I'm your sister, Isabella...I need you..."
"I...will believe you... Only if it means helping Mizik..."
Kyriel didn't allow herself to smile.
Tyras and Axiom were watching her and Valtheim was nearby.
Thankfully, the other Generals didn't hear her conversation because of her illusions.
But Valtheim was unaffected. That monster didn't have a mind capable of experiencing illusions.
Luckily, Valtheim was prepccupied with Johann.
Finally...Difar gave the order she had been waiting for.
"Kyriel, be a dear and inject her, would you?" Difar said.
"Yes, Lord Difar!" She said.
Then she created another illusion showing her inject Isabella...
What we saw, however, was completely different.
"This isn't easy to say, but my body was destroyed long ago, sister. I am a slave to the Corruption. And although my soul still inhabits this body, it is completely defiled with Lord Difar's plague," Kyriel explained.
"What does that mean?" Isabella asked.
"Well...I can't inject you with Corruption because you're immune. If any Corruption tries to infect you, it is immediately cleansed. Your soul is also missing pieces. There's just enough room for both of us in there. If I put my Corrupted soul in your body, it will be cleansed. Can I move forward?"
"Sister...wouldn't that mean we share a body...? I don't know..." Isabella said hesitantly.
"Yes...but you must hurry! We don't have much time! I promise I will help Mizik! Please! I beg of you! Please...save me... Please sister...make my suffering end...I beg you...!" She said with tears in her eyes.
"I...I trust you, Cassandra. Go ahead."
Then Kyriel injected Isabella with her Corrupted soul instead of the Corruption.
At the same time, she directly absorbed some of Isabella's pure divine power and her body crumbled to ashes.
Isabella fell unconscious when it happened, but Cassandra took over. She used an illusion spell to change her eye color to light blue.
It had worked. Cassandra could feel her soul being completely cleansed from the Corruption. She was free...finally free from Difar's grasp.
While Difar was busy with me, she slowly stood up. After that, she looked at her hands and her surroundings...then to Mizik.
At that moment, my former self contacted her with telepathy.
"Cassandra...please help me... I can't move! I need you!"
I could have sworn that wasn't what I said... But she remembered it very differently.
"Don't worry! I'm coming!"
Cassandra knelt down as Tyras and Axiom unsheathed their swords.
She used the opportunity to grab Deception and placed it in her inventory.
"What the hell is going on here!?" Tyras said.
"WILL YOU SHUT THE HELL UP AND LET ME ENJOY THIS MOMENT, TYRAS!?" Difar shouted angrily at Tyras.
"B-but...Lord Difar-"
"SHUT IT, AXIOM!" Difar said as he interrupted him.
Difar held Mizik up to the portal and there was a bright flash in the sky.
"Ugh...earlier than usual, are we...?" He said.
"UNHAND HIM RIGHT THIS INSTANT, YOU MURDERER!!!" Iris screamed.
Johann had also appeared.
"Umm...okay... I'll let him go then! Sound good? ALL BECAUSE YOU ASKED, YOU ANNOYING WASHBOARD!!!" Difar yelled angrily.
Then Cassandra's heart sank deeply as Difar let go of Mizik. He drifted through the portal and into the Firmament.
Cassandra leaped into action and charged through the field towards the closing portal.
"STOP HER, DAMMIT!!!" Tyras screamed in rage.
He came close to hitting her, but she dodged the attack and punched him hard in the face.
He was sent tumbling back as Axiom tried to grab her.
She dodged his attack, picked him up by the arm, and threw him at Tyras.
"GAH!!! WHAT'S WITH THIS STRENGTH!?" Axiom said as he was thrown.
Then Cassandra quickly ducked down and grabbed Vengeance. She placed it in her inventory and charged at the portal.
Just before jumping, Iris yelled out to her.
"WAIT!!! NOOO! ISABELLA!!!
"Sorry...I'm not Isabella!"
Finally, she jumped through the portal just as it was closing and threw her arms around Mizik.
He was badly wounded...but still breathing. He was alive and Cassandra had just preformed an invaluable service to him.
"Maybe with this...he will forgive me! Mizik will love me! I brought him both Isabella and his sword! He's going to praise me! I...I can feel his heart beating... He's so warm...! I'm...finally reunited!"
"Cassandra...you know he's MY husband, right?"
"KYAAAHHH! Y-you can hear my thoughts, sister!?"
"Of course I can. Just like you can hear mine! Thank you for doing this, but whatever you do, you need to keep this a secret from him. I don't know how he'll react. Please, be reasonable."
"F-fine...I'll keep it a secret...but please... At least let me hug him a little longer... I've waited so long for this moment..."
"Very well. Just don't forget that he's my husband and not yours!"
"Yes! Of course, dear sister!"
Cassandra remained in control for a long time and held onto Mizik for dear life. As she held onto Mizik, she cried hysterically.
I could feel the intense relief and happiness overwhelming her.
The two would periodically change back and forth, but Cassandra remained mostly in control until we arrived at Delvandal.
When we approached the new world, she relinquished control back to Isabella and remained silent for a short while.
