Once we found the exit, the two of us opened the door and found ourselves in the back yard of the estate.
"Mizik, what should we do now?" Isabella asked.
"Kill Tyranus. I want to make that bastard pay for everything he's done..." I said.
"Even if we succeed, where will we go? Do you think he was telling the truth about Albatross?" Isabella said.
"I don't know. I can only hope that he wasn't. If he was, our world might really be doomed..." I said.
I looked up at the night sky and then at the mansion.
"Wether or not our world is doomed, I'm going to kill that bastard and burn this place to the ground even if it's the last thing I ever do."
"I'll support you. Rely on me for protection," Isabella said.
"I will. Let's go," I said.
We walked around the front of the mansion.
A few guards attacked us on sight, but they went down easily.
Eventually, we entered through the front door and approached the main staircase in the main foyer.
Amelia's body had already been removed. There was still a blood stain where she fell...
You sick bastard... I never even got to tell her what my Dad wanted to say... Damn it all! She was the only good family I had left!
I would have showed her the journal, but now I would never get the chance.
The two maids that helped us out before stood in surprise as they saw us.
"Master Mizik? Mistress Isabella? What's going on here? Why are you covered in blood!?" One of them said.
"Didn't Master Tyranus have you two thrown in the dungeon?" The other one said.
"He did, but we escaped and killed everyone. I want to apologize to you two. I have decided not to take over the household. Instead, I'm going to kill Tyranus and burn this place to the ground. You might want to let the other servants know and evacuate," I said.
"We...regret to hear this, Master Mizik... This place is our home. But truthfully...it is hell working in this mansion... We will evacuate the others and go. Thank you for warning us, Mas...thank you, Mizik. We are in your debt..." One of them said just before they both ran off.
After that, Vengeance warned me of his arrival.
[Our prey draws near...]
Vengeance didn't have to tell me.
I could already feel his presence.
I looked to the top of the grand staircase and saw Tyranus standing.
I could tell he was absolutely livid.
"You...INSOLENT WHELPS!" He screamed.
Tyranus slowly walked down the stairs as he glared at us with steely rage.
"TYRANUS! YOU BASTARD!!! GET DOWN HERE AND PAY FOR YOUR CRIMES!!!" I shouted.
"Why can't you just die? Is that too much to ask? I even sent Alice to ensure your deaths and somehow, you escaped. How?" He said angrily.
"Your so-called wife tried to have her way with me. Let's just say she learned how lethal Vengeance really is. I killed her, the people that tried to rape Isabella, and as many guards as we could find. It was a bloodbath."
"So that slut decided to whore herself out to trash, then? And it seems that you killed my wife. That is quite the sin, Mizik. I may not have loved her much, but I did love her."
"That's not how she told it. She said you didn't love her at all," I said.
Tyranus sighed.
"I'm quite glad that you've shed the blood of so many of my subjects. Including my wife. My sword will enjoy punishing you for your sins, Mizik."
[That will not save you from my wrath, false wielder.]
After that, Tyranus reached into his inventory and pulled out a rapier.
The slender, silvery blade had a golden hilt. The gems on the hilt and the runes on the sword glowed ruby red.
I could feel an incredible pressure coming off of Tyranus.
"Allow me to introduce you to my blade. 'Justice'. The sword of judgment that rewards the just punishes the wicked for their sins."
I held out my sword towards him.
"This is Vengeance. The Overseer of the thirteen swords and destroyer of its enemies."
"Delighted. And am I to assume that Isabella holds Bravery? It is quite beautiful, if I might add. I'll enjoy prying it from her mangled corpse," Tyranus said.
"Lord Tyranus, could you leave that one to me?" A familiar voice said.
I felt a chill run up my spine.
Suddenly a figure appeared out of thin air. A woman wearing a dark robe with a face that I knew all too well.
Cassandra had arrived.
"What the hell!? What are you doing here!?" I shouted.
Cassandra smiled at me and tilted her head.
"Our beloved Albatross was razed to the ground by a seven-headed dragon. In the confusion, a guard went into my cell and tried to have his way with me. I strangled him to death before he could even try. After that, I used my illusion magic to learn of your whereabouts. Then I stole a horse and arrived the day before yesterday. It was adorable watching you go through Tyranus' office," Cassandra explained.
"She is quite the woman, I must say... For Albatross filth, that is. Perfect for spying on my enemies... I'd say that she has earned her place in our household. Unlike her sister..." Tyrants said.
"Hm. To think Cassandra would lower herself to be violated by such a garbage heap. I had no idea you were so loose, Cassandra," Isabella said.
Cassandra glared at Isabella.
"For your information, I'm a virgin! Unlike you... I can't believe you actually married Mizik!" Cassandra hissed.
"Of course I did! I love him!" Isabella shouted.
"Ugh...when we subdue you, I wish to have words with your husband. I will settle our disagreement once and for all!" Cassandra said angrily.
No...I WON'T LET YOU TORTURE ME AGAIN, YOU BITCH!!!
"Cassandra, I will leave Isabella to you. For Mizik, I have a better idea...Arvild! GUARDS!" Tyranus shouted.
Suddenly the massive doors behind us opened and guards surrounded us. Among them was a familiar face...
Arvild.
He had a mechanical arm to replace the one that I removed. And his hand had been turned into a set of claws. He had a longsword at his side.
Cassandra's eyes went wide as she glanced at Arvild and then at Tyranus. She looked pissed.
"That's not what we agreed on! You said I could talk to Mizik!" She said angrily.
Tyranus ignored her.
Arvild gave a sinister laugh as he stepped forward.
"Mizik! I've been waiting for this moment! Ever since Tyranus took me in and trained me, I have been longing to slay you with my own hands! And once I'm done with you..." He looked at Isabella and licked his lips.
"Damn pervert..." Isabella said.
"I... Wait...IS THAT MY SWORD!? YOU BITCH! GIVE IT BACK!" Arvild screamed.
Isabella held up Bravery as if she was listening to it.
"Bravery says that you are a worthless coward. It wants nothing to do with you," she said.
Arvild's eye twitched in response.
"Damn you... I'm going to make you cry and beg!" Arvild said.
[My prey has gathered. I have been offered a feast.]
Tyranus stood back and smiled.
"Rather than dirty my blade on you, I guess I'll let them take care of things. It'll be fun watching you bleed out as Arvild violates your beloved, Mizik. And after that, I'll have Cassandra send her along after you. It should be quite the show."
"Tch...damn liar..." Cassandra hissed in a low tone.
"Mizik...how are we going to do this?" Isabella asked.
I held up Vengeance and almost felt it smile.
"By giving this thing exactly what it wants. There are three people that this sword wants to kill. I'll start with Arvild, you keep Cassandra busy."
Isabella raised her shield and stepped towards Cassandra.
"Ugh...fine. I'll just have to do this my way then. How do you plan to kill me when you've always been so weak, Isabella?" Cassandra said.
"Shield wall," Isabella said as she raised her shield. She was cloaked in an energy field and charged at Cassandra.
Meanwhile, Arvild rushed over and tried to stab me with his longsword. I sidestepped it and slashed at him. He parried the blow with his claw and stepped back.
His movements seemed somewhat crude and built on efficiency.
Although...he was also a tad clumsy, considering his mechanical arm.
I wondered how he came to possess something like that.
Had it been the dwarves?
Regardless, I didn't have the luxury of asking. I wanted him to die, instead.
"ASSASSINATE!" I shouted.
I teleported behind Arvild and he bolted forward before my blade could decapitate him. He stood in front of Tyranus now.
"It seems like you're as sharp as ever. But last time was a fluke, Mizik. I'll have you know that-"
"RAGE OF IRATUS!!" I shouted.
I was clouded by rage at that point and felt my sword take it all.
Vengeance became crimson and I glared at Arvild.
"The...sacred skill!? How the hell do you have it!?" Tyranus said angrily.
I glared at Tyranus and he bared his teeth in anger.
"Arvild! Stand back! I'll handle this one on my own!"
"But, my Lord! You promised!" Arvild protested.
"I SAID GET BACK!" Tyranus screamed.
Arvild glared at me and switched places with Tyranus.
Isabella distanced herself from Cassandra and returned to me.
"I've searched everywhere for that skill... Why do you of all people have it?" Tyranus said.
"I got it while killing goblins. Does that frustrate you?" I asked mockingly.
"I knew I should have killed you on sight at the wedding interview. You had no reaction to my killing intent because you already had the skill. Interesting... Perhaps I should have been more forward about it."
"Mizik...I'm going to be honest here. I don't think we stand a chance. Shouldn't we get out of here?" Isabella said.
"Have you only just now realized this?" Tyranus asked.
I looked around at the guards and they had formed a full circle around us.
We had no method of escape. We were outnumbered and our enemies were far stronger than we were.
What the hell was I thinking...?
"Now then, perhaps you should just lay down and die for me. I'll grant you a swift death because you've been so kind as to deliver the sacred skill!" Tyranus said.
"Hold on. If we're going to die, then at least tell us one thing. How powerful are you, Tyranus?" I asked.
Maybe if I could stall him, we could make a way out. He was pretty arrogant, after all.
"Me? I'm a level 130 Arcane Fencer. A special class designed specifically for Justice. I'm assuming both you and Isabella are still Magic Knights, yes?" Tyranus said.
By the gods...level 130...?
"Yeah...level 70. Both of us... Seems we're fairly outmatched, huh?" I said as I looked around.
"Terribly. Cassandra is level 100, and so is Arvild. Each of my elite guards, here, is level 95. Much better than the low level trash we keep guarding the dungeon."
"I don't suppose you're feeling guilty about the things you've done, are you? We'd be real happy if you could just off yourself right here," I said jokingly.
"I don't think so, Mizik. Unlike you, I have a lot to live for."
Suddenly, in the distance, I heard a crash.
I felt the ground shake as well.
"What the hell was that?" Tyranus said.
We heard several more explosive impacts as they became louder and got closer.
Then, a moment later, something shot past the guards at our back and killed three of them on the spot.
Isabella and I took a step back as Arvild and Cassandra looked on in fear at the enraged old man standing before us.
Walter Orthright stood with Honor at the ready.
"W...Walter!? WALTER!" Isabella shouted joyfully.
"My deepest apologies, my lady. I'm quite late to the party... I do hope that you'll allow me to join in on the festivities!" Walter said with a smile.
