"TaTerra, sorry, I overheard you guys talking and I just wonder are humans giving free money?"
Raurf doesn't look like he is pleased with me eavesdropping but not my fault, you guys talk in public and I just overheard it.
"Oh, it's fine. My friend knows humans. His family has a connection with humans. He said humans need help and want to pay us Thaurian for that help."
"What they wanna help with?"
"I don't know. We need to meet with my friend to get confirmation."
I kinda feel inferior but I have to say it is because I am desperate.
"Um TaTerra, can I help with a human because I actually... Really like humans and I wanna help them if I can."
I suddenly back down on being honest. I do like humans. From all I read, they are kind and nice but the main reason is money. If the money is not worth it, I can just go with helping them because I wanna help and find another job later.
"Really? I will tell my friend then!" I think TaTerra sense my discomfort and didn't ask more.
"He said ok! How about this weekend?"
"Great! Can I have your number? For this weekend."
"Sure!"
I exchange numbers with both TaTerra and Raurf. Dean also come back from a phone call and I ask for his number while I was at it.
I continue with my work after confirming our date for an outing. I am so excited and it got me motivated. Not just I can get to see humans, but I also can gain money if anything goes well which is my main issue right now after improving my design.
I get myself to the table and make my mock-up from mud because it's cheap material. I not eating enough to create material like cement that is much more durable but I can buy mud.
Besides if I use water to form mud and dry it, it still works like concrete. Durable enough for mockup. Plus water is everywhere and I can drink it outside at the waterfall.
Because my pore is under my wrist, it is not optimal to mold stuff. It is more convenient to have it on the palm. I usually just let water flow to my palm from my pore and use it to mold.
"Oh, you have pores like Spider-Man."
I look at my shoulder and see TaTerra and her gang at my back.
"Who is Spider-Man?"
"Remember my friend that meets human before. He shows me a human movie. It's really cool. Spiderman is like us. He has a pore that shoots like us and his pore is under his wrist. Like you. He is also a genius, he creates instant sticky liquid!" She looks excited while talking about this human named Spider-Man.
"Hahaha, but my pore can't shoot sticky stuff though and even that, I can't even shoot water that far." Her excitement is contagious.
I wonder if I meet this Spider-Man guy, he can teach me the secret components of his sticky substance.
"Spiderman is a superhero!" TaTerra exclaims with passion.
Her audience me and her gang fully focus on her statement. It faces face full of curiosity about what is this superhero.
Taterra with a proud face explains "Superhero is someone who saves other people. Protect the weak and fight evil."
"Like human to us?" Human does teach us how to survive from none conscious species. They are much bigger and with human knowledge, they teach us how to make traps, houses, and barriers.
"Yes, yes, yes! Like human and spiderman is also human!" "Humans are cool."
"Will Spiderman comes to Thaurian?"
"I don't know. I will ask my friend." TaTerra is a bit down because she is not sure. She really cute person. I kinda feel guilty for feeling like she is a bit arrogant at a first impression.
TaTerra seems down so I try to change the topic. "TaTerra, what's your opinion about my chair pod?" I talk to her with a smile.
I can see that her horn shakes a bit. Plus her accessories amplify her horn movement too. I guess her feelings are hard to cover after all.
"Sure! I think your pod has enough function but lacks focus on aesthetics. Your presentation about the comfy interior cushion is a good idea so use that I think you shouldn't put aesthetics on the interior back because the user cannot see it because they lay on it and it also can't be seen by passersby. It's just a good first impression for the user. I recommend putting it at side interior or side exterior."
I just ask to lift her mood and change the topic but her passionate response was not just good but show her care about me which shock me.
I write that down on the table since I can't find paper near me and my hand to dirty to use the phone. I hope I didn't get fined for vandalism. I use a pencil, I hope it didn't last long until I found paper to write own
"Thank you!" I smile brightly at her. It does lift her mood.
We start to do a job in the group circle at one table and it is fun to do work with others.
TaTerra shows her skill there. She makes a hanging table which is a tensegrity table from her presentation. It uses physics to make it hang. Right now, she making light concrete. Strong but light. By making it a honeycomb hole inside the concrete. It needs to be done right or else it can break but she does it with ease like used to it. She makes it all from herself. I see that her pore is on her palm so easy for her but it can be painful if the shard gets inside her pore but she is careful with it.
Deean is a chill guy. He got his elegance and even he walks or does something that looks like a dance with his bat wing. He has a bat wing under his arm. It is treated like an art piece. Painted and nicely cared for. I heard his girlfriend the one who paint his wing. He is a water architecture student so his focus is more on water bending. Idk how but he can make a thread and knit it for his light stand. Kinda curious about how he makes a soft thing like thread to stand. In the presentation, he said the light stand can roll and the light source will not be disturbed.
Raurf is a very ambitious guy so no wonder he needs to make big stuff. He wants to make a sleeping bed but he is combining water and land bending. His main is water architecture so understandable he making soft stuff. He is making it as comfortable but as durable as possible. I don't see much crazy physics and chemistry going on like the first two here but maybe because I can't see doesn't mean it didn't exist.
Man, I was embarrassed. Compare to them, I am lacking a lot. I need to work hard but a creative idea isn't a thing you can work hard and you get. It develops and the gifted mind got it easy. No wonder mine and Raurf are kinda weak compare to Deean and TaTerra.

So the day of the meeting...
Everyone gathers at the meeting place. I arrive third early after Deean and his girlfriend. He doesn't like to make people wait for him. When I arrived he having fun teasing and holding hands with his girlfriend. I guess they just going to date meeting humans.
Raurf arrives soon after. Last arrive TaTerra. Not that late to be honest. Arrive in just barely past 5 minutes after the promised time.
She contacts her friend using her phone to come.
The meeting place is at the foot of a steep rock mountain. I guess her friend is a wind species since only wind people live on top of the mountain. No wonder her friend know human. Wind tribe is the first to meet a human.
After her phone call and she said her friend will arrive soon.
Suddenly a strong wind comes from above and we all look up and see a big flying object descending.
