Chereads / To Kill a Killer (BL) / Chapter 3 - Blood Stains

Chapter 3 - Blood Stains

Peter didn't know how long the darkness lasted, but after a very long time he opened his eyes to find himself in a completly different world. He was smaller then he had been before. His hands were tiny and when he moved his head just slightly he saw that the rest of him was as well.

"Jackson." A woman's voice called from in the distance. "Time to come inside hun."

Peter didn't move. He had just been playing in the mud, laughing to himself as he looked for worms, when suddenly all the memories from his previous life had come flooding back like some huge violent waterfall of images. He still maintained all the memories of being Jackson, but now as if out of nowhere he also remembered being Peter as well.

He had died, and he had started his new life, one of many if the man from behind that strange desk was to be believed. Which, judging from his current situation, would probably be the best course of action. But that realization left behind one terrifying thought, if what the man had said was completely true, that meant that Sean was somewhere in this world, perhaps remembering everything just like Peter was now.

He felt the stick he was holding drop from his hand, as his small body began to tremble. Sean's desire to kill probably wouldn't have faded, even with his knew body. After all it was the soul within that really mattered, so if Sean was out there somewhere, waiting, he would surely be more then happy to kill Peter again.

. . . . .

Peter lived the life of Jackson as quietly as he could, being careful not to cause trouble and being good to those around him. He had been polite to his teachers and kind to his classmates, but never to the point that it made him popular. No, that would be dangrous. He aimed for somewhere in the middle, keeping out of the way of most and sticking to one small circle of friends.

For the most part this method worked and the years of his childhood flew by in almost an instant. Now he was in his sophomore year in college. He had changed his major twice, but now he was studying arts. His previous body had had large clumsy hands that couldn't hold a paint brush for anything, but now he had a bit of talent, which hopefully he would be able to shape into a career.

So far he hadn't seen any sign of Sean, not that he would know if he had. After all he himself didn't look anything like his previous body, why should Sean be any different. Still he did his best to remain watchful, it couldn't hurt after all.

"What do you think, Jack." A male voice pulled Peter from his thoughts and he looked over at the young man in the chair next to him who spoken to him.

"Uh....." He said dumbly. " I wasn't listening could you repeat that."

The boy laughed, reaching out and playfully punching Peter in the shoulder. " Come on dude, where is your head at all the time." He chuckled again, before turning back to address the two females who sat across from them. " Jackson here is usually lost in the clouds, but he's a nice guy once you get to know him."

The girls giggled batting their eyelashes at the boy. "I'm sure that's true." One of the girls said. " How did you get to know each other."

Peter frowned as the young man slung his arm over his shoulder, leaning his weight against him. "Me and Jack have known each other since we were brats, somehow we managed to maintain a good relationship all this time."

"What do you mean somehow, Zach?" He asked, decided that it was finally time to join the conversation. " I'm a great guy."

" Yeah, Yeah." Zach said, reaching over and patting him on the shoulder. "You keep telling yourself that."

Rolling his eyes, Peter turned his attention to the girl sitting across from himself, shrugging and making the crazy motion with his index finger and pointing at Zach. Peter had known Zach for all of his new life, and he liked the guy well enough, save for the fact that he could be a bit of a jerk at times, but he meant well.

The girl laughed before turning her attention back to Zach. Peter wasn't all the surprised. Zach was very very good looking, much more so than even Peter's old body, which had been arguably handsome. He had more than his fair share of women approach him in his past life, though he had never been all that interested in any of them.

His new body wasn't ugly, in fact it had some very good features, but because he was always standing next to Zach he was rarely looked upon long enough for anyone to notice. He didn't mind this though, it helped him to blend in.

BRIINNNG. BRIIINNNNNG. Peter jumped as his phone went off in the back pocket of his jeans. Pulling it out he saw that it was his older brother Jeremiah. Sighing he looked up at Zach. "Sorry, gotta run." Looking over the girls he put on a friendly smile. "It was nice meeting you ladies."

Zach stood up alongside Peter, giving him a fist bump. " See ya tomorrow dude," He called as Peter began to walk away. " And tell Jeremiah he sucks. This is the fifth time he:s interrupted our hangouts."

"Will do dude." Peter called back, exiting the little cafe quickly and answering the call. " Hey Jeremiah."

"Where the heck are you Jack." His brother growled though the phone. " You were supposed to be here at two to help mom move. She's been worried sick."

"Sorry I forgot." He said truthfully. When he had been leaving the college he had been so absorbed in his own thoughts that he had completely forgotten that his mother was moving into a new place today. "I'm headed there now. Tell mom I'm alright."

"Fine." His brother huffed. " But you better apologize when you get here. I can't believe you for-"

The phone was knocked from Peter's hand as he accidentally bumped into someone who was passing by. Peter heard the screen shatter on the sidewalk and winced. That was a brand new phone.

"Oh I'm sorry." Said whoever he had bumped into.

Peter felt his body stiffen at the sound of the voice. He had never heard this voice before, not even in his past life, yet somehow it seemed chillingly familiar. Not the sound of the voice, but rather the drawling almost bored tone that it spoke in.

Looking up, he felt the blood drain from his face. Staring back at him where piercing blue eyes that Peter had never seen before, but he recognized the malicious killing intent that hide behind the pupiles.

Fear gripped at Peter's stomach as he began to back away, doing his best not to turn and run. Maybe the other man didn't recognize him, after all Peter's body was different than his old one. Heck, maybe this was a completely different person than he thought it was.

"Hello Peter." Sean said, and the slight amount of hope that Peter had been trying to build up within himself came crashing down. " Long time no see, how have you been?" His voice was eerily calm and cheerful sounding and Peter immediately knew that he was going to die. It seemed the stains of blood from his past life had finally caught up to him.
