"Maple's on the move! She's fallen into the underground dungeon!"
The admin's cry broke the silence.
Several nearby admins moved to check the screen.
"I thought that place required three?"
"It does. Who'd they add? They'll end up chained together."
If the third player wasn't in Maple's league, they'd be a drag on the other two.
So naturally, all the admins were curious.
"Hold on—bringing it up now."
A few keyboard taps, and Kasumi's data appeared on-screen.
"Oh no! No, no, no! She's not gonna drag anyone down!"
"If anything, Maple's gonna be the deadweight here—the other two have so much
more Agility. Just walking around's gonna be an ordeal."
The first man stopped wailing "noooo!" He seemed to be thinking.
"Hmm, it might just do the trick…"
"…Yeah?"
"I agree this dungeon's a good challenge for Maple, but… you think it might?"
"They're all strong players, so they might make it through alive… but this matchup
could mean we've got a shot at taking one of them down."
From an admin standpoint, dungeons really ought to give players a run for their
money.
And for strong players, beating those odds would be all the more exhilarating.
"Well, we can't do anything to interfere. We'll just have to hope for the best."
"Go get 'em, monsters!"
The admins found themselves offering up prayers to their own creations.
