Synopsis
Li Yanmei can hardly believe what is happening. Somehow, she wakes up inside the body of a character from her least favourite romance novel - a woman named Li Yanmei with a reputation for being wicked and nearly killing the female lead. But that is not the worst of it.
As Li Yanmei navigates this unfamiliar world, she finds that not only is she haunted by ghosts, a war general by the name of Qin Liuxian catches her eye. Despite his reputation for being evil and unsightly, Li Yanmei cannot help but like him.
Then there is Ye Jianhong, the male lead of the story. He owns a harem and seems to want no part of Li Yanmei, except for the fact that he strangely but deadly feels possessive towards her. He wants to lock her away and keep her all to himself, something that Li Yanmei wants no part of.
After canceling her unwanted engagement to Ye Jianhong, Li Yanmei decides to marry Qin Liuxian instead. Sure, he may have a few skeletons in his closet, but at least he is not forcing her into his own personal harem.
Despite the horror that haunts her nights, Li Yanmei finds herself falling deeper in love with Qin Liuxian. And with each passing day, she cannot help but feel grateful for waking up in this new and exciting world. She may have started out as a wicked character in a romance novel, but now she is making her own destiny.
