Chapter 49 - Well-Ordered

The accursed now found himself in a tough situation. There lay in front of him two of the most powerful ethernal entities. Walkure as she is now wouldn't be a problem for him, but her Iron Maiden could prove otherwise. He had to deal with her before the cooldown passed.

However, the real issue was the thing on Walkure's side. For outside observers, merely describing it was already a challenge in and of itself. His mere presence was enough to stir terror in anyone who saw it and warp spatial symmetry. Worse, the mere act of looking at or speaking his name would cause severe dementia, depression, and schizophrenia at once, with an additional 90% chance of the mind shattering upon itself. His existence defied mental stability, and getting close enough could result in a complete cessation of all biological and spiritual functions. Direct contact with his main humanoid body would result in the complete deletion of the victim.

Amadeus understood the situation right when he looked at the being that possessed almost 0 light reflected on him. But still, his Destinatus Apoptosis was able to erase part of his darkness seconds ago. Knowing this, Amadeus knew there was a way to win. If his punch clashed directly with his humanoid form, he might be able to erase him for good. However, he has an odd feeling that even this humanoid shape isn't actually him. It's as if it was there but at the same time not. Still, he decided to not think too much about it.

"Reinforcements, eh? Perhaps now I might get a worthy challenge. No matter how powerful you are, it's still fundamentally useless against my-"

"ՏɿʅȝՌՇȝ"

At that instance, Amadeus' mouth suddenly shut itself against his own will, and he was incapable of opening it until Penumbra allowed him.

"It is not your time to speak yet, foul accursed. Now, will you be willing to hear me out?"

"..."

"I've come here to settle this matter in a peaceful way, if possible. For that, I bring a potential compromise."

Amadeus listens to him quietly.

"You and your people revert Antrax's situation, and we all leave, including our troops."

"Not happening. You people have already turned yourselves into an imminent threat to-"

Amadeus' mouth suddenly shuts itself again.

"I see. No matter. In that case, come at me at once or die in shame."

Penumbra raised his hand, from which it spawned a body of darkness shaped like a draconic serpent, which flew towards the accursed's direction. The serpent was huge, dwarfing several planets in size.

Amadeus raised his fist and punched the creature in front of him...or so he thought.

Right before his punch was going to land, the serpent divided itself into several other serpents, effectively dodging Amadeus' first attack, and then converged into Amadeus from all directions, each biting a specific body part of him. The body of the first serpent was naturally erased by his fist.

"What?!"

However, even then, his fist would carry destruction toward all aspects of the victim. Even though his punch didn't land the first serpent, his intent was to destroy it, which would be enough to do so, even if it missed it, and in fact did. Though, all of its abilities should have been erased as a result as well, which did not happen here, as the serpent was still able to divide itself.

In addition, each bite of these serpents would bypass any and all defenses, including the metaphysical, and induce the worst of pains imaginable and unimaginable.

"Ghhr...!"

Amadeus then punched one of the serpents that were biting him, erasing it, which also did the same to the rest.

"That is a much intriguing asset you got, accursed one. I do not doubt it has enough features to affect even me directly. However, in our first interaction, I noticed a very blatant weakness of it. You."

"What are you talking ab-"

"Should I demonstrate?"

Penumbra said as a sphere of darkness could be seen erupting from behind his back.

"ՌȝʍԾ ȝՃ ρԹʅʍ"

From the sphere, millions of hand-shaped darkness of all kinds of sizes came out, and they all focused on the accursed in front of them. Each hand was covered under a law that made them impossible to be dodged. Even escape was meaningless, as the very space between the opponent and the hands would simply remain the same no matter how far away the victim ran. These hands had a will of their own and anything they crushed would be returned into the darkest void.

"Useless projectiles", Amadeus said as he prepared his fist of destruction. What would be the point of all those constructs if he simply could annihilate them all with a single punch? He thought to himself.

He swings his fist into the first hand that approached him. It was a successful hit. The hand is disintegrated.

However...

"!!!???"

Several hands, which were still intact, quickly approached and attacked him from numerous directions at the same time.

A single hit from one hand could be fatal. But Amadeus was faster than them, so he was still able to manage to destroy them one by one, with both of his fists.

But how could this be? Amadeus couldn't help but think. All of them should have been erased by the first attack. A strange phenomenon that didn't happen once, but twice.

His Fist of Destruction, while powerful, is limited to what his mind considers and comprehends as a target, and the types of enemies he is facing. If billions of clones of the same opponent spawned against him, all he has to do is to punch the very ability itself, or the concept of those clones. However...

"You can't destroy fundamentally different existences at once. If two different entities tried to assault you, you would have to punch each one at a time. Your mind comprehends the enemy and its abilities as a whole and destroys it with a single attack. But what if you don't understand what you are trying to hit to begin with?"

"!!!"

Amadeus realizes the situation he is now in.

Moments earlier, Amadeus punched one of Penumbra's hands, with the intent of punching away all of them. But that didn't work. For a good reason. Each hand was its own being operating under different conceptions and fundamentals of logic. The hand that he punched might have been an entity working under first-order logic, but the other ones that attacked him are different beings working under second, third, fourth, fifth-order logic...and so on. They cannot be equated to the same thing, even in principle.

"Take, for instance, the opposite of both fire and non-fire, being neither state...can you tell what it actually is? You cannot. And that's why your ability is futile against my ՌȝʍԾ ȝՃ ԵՎρȝ."

Amadeus listens while still punching away the hands that are bombarding him from all directions.

"In that case...", Amadeus says as he quickly dodges the swarm of incoming hands, jumping into a blind point away from the horde. Next, he punches the space right in front of him with his left fist.

This results in the distance between him and Penumbra being directly torn apart and erased, leading Amadeus to essentially teleport to right in front of the ethernal. Penumbra was now within Amadeus' physical range of attack and his right fist was already prepared. It would still take a few seconds for the hands to catch up to the accursed one, but not fast enough before he could punch the ethernal that was meters away from him.

"..all I have to do is to deal with you directly."

The accursed one swings his fist in the darkness.
