Chifuyu stretched his arms above his head as he did a big yawn, but he dazed for a few seconds before he plopped back to his bed, throwing the covers over him again.
"I wonder what'll happen if I skip for today..." was the thought in his head as he dazed at the ceiling.
"He sure is late..." Taylor was tapping his fingers as he sat on his chair behind his desk.
"Tsuguha's skipping? What a surprise..." Jeffrey averted his eyes.
"Fine, I guess we'll just have to go without him." Taylor stood up from his desk, "Let's get going, no time to waste." He took his coat and tall hat to put on.
It was yet another murder scene, and Jeffrey was stuck at a dead end because he couldn't find any clues that would lead to the murderer. Taylor was surveying the surroundings and there was very little he could work on, at that time he realized how big of a difference Chifuyu's presence made.
"Argh! Where is that big-headed Tsuguha when he's needed!" Jeffrey ruffled his hair in frustration.
"This just made me realize how terrible we are at our job," Taylor chuckled.
"Because Tsuguha raised the standards stupidly high, and now it makes me feel like an amateur." Jeffrey grunted, "I wonder why he's absent today, is he sick or something?" his mumble was loud enough for Taylor to hear.
"Worried about him?" Taylor sniggered.
"Huh?! Why would I be worried about him?!!" Jeffrey couldn't hold in his shout, "That's ridiculous, Detective Anderson..." he pouted.
"Whatever you say, Jeffrey..." Taylor found his reaction amusing.
"Hey, old man~!" Chifuyu pushed open the door to Taylor's office in the afternoon, making Jeffrey and Taylor in the room pause.
"Tsuguha!!" Jeffrey grabbed his jacket and pulled him closer to his raging face, "Where have you been?! We were struggling with this complicated murder while you were doing who-knows-what!!" he shouted at Chifuyu's face.
"Calm down, Jerry... I was busy at home most of the day," Chifuyu rolled his eyes, "Let me go already, you're going to rip my jacket." He patted Jeffrey's arms to make him release his grip.
"Everything okay, Tsuguha-kun? You never skipped before," Taylor approached him.
"It's nothing you need to worry about, old man. It's just house work stuff," Chifuyu chuckled, "How was the investigation today?" he smiled.
"It didn't go as smoothly as when you're my assistant," Taylor sighed.
"I'm offended somehow..." Jeffrey mumbled.
"I see, that's a shame." Chifuyu shrugged with a smile.
"Oh, right. I did gather a few evidences from the scene, do you want to look at it?" Taylor asked Chifuyu.
"Non," Chifuyu's short response surprised Taylor, "I'm letting you handle this case alone, old man." He smirked.
"W-What?" Taylor didn't expect him to reject investigating.
"I said, I'm letting you handle this case, old man." Chifuyu repeated in a reluctant tone.
"D-Did you hit your head or something? Since when do you reject investigating?" Taylor was concerned all of a sudden.
"Like I said before many times, I want to see you succeed an investigation without me." Chifuyu repeated the same request he always had, "What if I say, I'm not helping until you managed to finish this murder case in a month? You have to finish it without my help, of course." He smirked wider.
"Huh...?" Jeffrey froze in confusion.
"I meant what I said, good bye for now." Chifuyu turned to walk away.
"Chifuyu," Taylor's voice made Chifuyu stop, "Is something wrong? Why are you asking for me to succeed on my own all of a sudden?" Taylor asked him.
"I didn't come here to get interrogated, old man." Chifuyu turned his head as he grunted, then turned his head back forwards again before sighing. "Let's just say, I'll be going somewhere far sometime soon." He said with a gloomy voice, concerning Taylor.
"What... What is he hiding?" was the thought in the detective's head.
"Are you going back to Japan or something?" Jeffrey asked Chifuyu with a raised brow.
"I'll let you guess~" Chifuyu turned his head with a mischievous grin, yet another one of his mood swings that only Taylor noticed, making him concerned. "Bye-bye, old man, Jerry~" he waved as he walked out of the door.
"For the millionth time; it's Jeffrey!!" Jeffrey shouted before he closed the door and left.
"Why do I feel like he's lying...? Is it only me...?" Taylor was asking himself in his head.
"Oh, Fuyuchi! Do you want to stop by the orphanage?" Lucas asked Chifuyu as soon as he saw him outside the Anderson residence, "The kids really want to see you again, and they won't stop nagging me about it..." Lucas had a meek on his face.
"Sure, they're all good kids, they're nice to be with." Chifuyu agreed, and started walking to their destination together with Lucas. "Hey, Lucas. If I tell you I'm going to return to Japan soon, what will you do? Will you be okay with that?" he asked Lucas as they walked, with a somewhat solemn tone.
"You're planning to go back to Japan? Permanently?" Lucas was curious.
"What if I say I am going permanently?" Chifuyu asked him back.
"I don't know... We won't be able to talk anymore, I'll miss you a lot..." Lucas looked up to the sky, "You're my only best friend..." he was genuinely sad of the thought not being able to see Chifuyu again.
"Why don't you start making more friends? How about Eve?" Chifuyu suggested.
"Hm, I guess we are technically friends already, but I still consider it a servant-mistress relationship though..." Lucas scratched his hair.
"I'm sure you're a friend to her, Lucas, just ask her yourself." Chifuyu told him, "At least before I leave, I want you to have friends other than me." He requested.
"D-Did he just asked me to achieve something? It's just like what Miss Evening said last night," Lucas immediately remembered, "Maybe he's just worried about us, he knows how impactful he is to us and want to assure himself everyone will be fine before he leaves." He thought as he averted his curious eyes.
"You won't kill yourself, will you?" Chifuyu's solemn question made Lucas turn back to him.
"What made you think that?" Lucas tilted his head.
"Promise me you won't, okay? If I go, at least I want you to keep moving forward with your life." Chifuyu began to lecture his friend, "Just don't bother with that woman ever again, okay? I'll make you pay if you even think of visiting her," he grunted with a lifted lower lip, squinting his eyes to his friend.
"I promise I won't..." Lucas chuckled.
"It's big brother Lucas~!" Sammy jumped to run and greet them when they came in sight, "Oh, and big brother Chifuyu too~!!" she gleamed in excitement.
"Big brother Chifuyu is here??" Carrie and Kate ran after Sammy, and the three girls stopped in front of Chifuyu as he kneeled on one knee.
"Hello, girls." Chifuyu greeted them with a smile, the children's excitement giving more warmth to the afternoon near winter.

Chifuyu casually walked into Taylor's office to lay down on the sofa, ignoring the detective in the room, who had his focus broken when the 17-year-old entered the room like he owns the place.
"If you only find a corpse with chopped off, missing ears, what will you do?" Taylor asked him.
"Look for more clues," Chifuyu responded without giving it a serious thought, his eyes still shut as if ready for a nap.
"What if you find another corpse, but this time with missing arms?" Taylor asked Chifuyu, this time managed to get his attention, but he simply gave the detective a lazy look.
"Nice try, old man. But I'm not helping you," Chifuyu sneered, then averted his eyes to close them again.
"Chifuyu, a serial killer is seriously on the lose right now! It's not a time to be playing games like this!" Taylor stood up from his chair, "Safe your games for another time, I seriously need your help for this case!" he was dead serious, and Chifuyu sat down on the sofa.
"Fine... I'll lend you a little help, just a little." Chifuyu rolled his eyes, "Like I said before, look for more clues. There must be DNA or fingerprint samples left by the murderer, or even very small pieces of evidence." He repeated.
"I don't have your keen eyes, Chifuyu, no matter how hard I try..." Taylor sighed.
"It's called old age, geezer..." Chifuyu raised his brow and lowered his lips, and Taylor swallowed his growl while Chifuyu smirked in satisfaction.
"The crime scene is still available; do you mind going for an on-site investigation?" Taylor suggested to him.
"Okay, I'll go just this once." Chifuyu agreed reluctantly.
"Since when your assistance became so expensive, huh?" Taylor raised a brow to him.
"Since yesterday, when you're supposed to solve this case without my help." Chifuyu stood up from the sofa, "I never imagined you to be this bad at your job, old man." He gave Taylor a condescending grin.
"Are you asking to get paid or something? Because I can if you want to," Taylor asked him.
"I don't need money, old man." Chifuyu averted his eyes as they walked out of the house.
"But didn't you say you're going back to Japan soon?"
"I have enough for that, more money would just make things more difficult." Chifuyu rolled his eyes again as he responded, "I'll be going permanently, so I really want you to be able to manage without me." He added with a somewhat solemn tone.
"So that's what all of this is about? Why didn't you say so?!" Taylor hits Chifuyu's back, "When are you planning to go?" he asked him as they sat down in a carriage, the carriage began moving towards their destination as Chifuyu looked out the window.
"I'm not sure myself, but I think I will go in a month or so." His voice was calm but doubtful.
"Okay..." Taylor was confused but decided to not press him on the matter, "I promise you, I'll manage without you, Chifuyu. Just keep helping me until then, okay?" he gave Chifuyu a sincere smile, Chifuyu gave him an empty daze before averting his eyes a moment later.
"You win, old man." He said, "You remind me so much of my dad..." he added in a mumble, barely heard by Taylor.
"Did you say something?" Taylor was curious.
"Nothing," Chifuyu rolled his eyes as he grunted lightly, "I'm going to help you until I go, happy? But I'll never forgive you if you don't keep your promise," he refused to look at Taylor as he spoke in a grumpy tone.
"You're talking like an entitled little kid; do you know that?" Taylor sighed, "I understand, I promise I'll be fine when you're gone." He smiled again.
They arrived at the crime scene and Chifuyu stepped foot into the room, and he had a sudden change of expression as if something had made him confused.
"Are you okay?" Taylor asked him.
"I-I'm okay," Chifuyu shook his head to gain back his focus, "Do you have any suspects?" he began to walk around.
"We only have 2 people under police supervision; Mason Jill and Joseph Canon." Taylor responded, "Mason Jill is under supervision in suspicion for telling lies in his testimony and he has a criminal record for attempt in kidnapping, while Joseph Canon is the person who found the second victim and is suspected to have been in the scene when the murder took place." He explained a summary to Chifuyu.
"Just two of them?" Chifuyu bent down onto the bloody sofa in the room, sniffing the sofa before standing back up.
"Yeah, only they are under our supervision so far." Taylor nodded his head.
"What about the first victim's crime scene? Is that place still available?" Chifuyu asked his mentor.
"Of course, it's still available. It's not far from here also," Taylor replied.
"The murderer must be so confident in themselves to perform their second murder not far from the first, and they seemed to have relaxed on this sofa after murdering the second victim." Chifuyu said, looking down to the sofa with a dull face.
"I think so too," Taylor agreed.
"It's the same..." Chifuyu mumbled when they arrived at the other crime scene not far from the previous one, "There's not much I can take from the crime scenes," Chifuyu turned to Taylor.
"Right?" Taylor raised a brow, sighing.
"I have a plan," a smirk appeared on Chifuyu's face, "We only have two suspects so far, right? Maybe one of them could be the murderer, and I need a little more context of their background." He began to explain.
"I'll have Jeffrey work on that immediately," Taylor nodded his head.
"After a background check, I can determine my own suspect. Now, you just need to release them." Chifuyu added.
"Release them??" Taylor didn't expect that.
"If the murderer is one of them, I want them to return to their normal lives for at least two days, then you can bring them in again for questioning and you can't let them know beforehand." Chifuyu explained, "Just appear at their doorstep and take them to the office, I will be able to continue my own investigation from then." He had a confident smile on his face.
"What if it's not one of them?" Taylor was sceptical.
"I'll try my luck, old man, my luck hasn't failed me so far." Chifuyu's smile widened into an arrogant one, "I'll wait for the results of their background check, then I can be sure whether to continue on with the next phase or not." He walked out of the first crime scene confidently.
"I have faith in you, Chifuyu." Taylor was less doubtful than he expected in the end, and decided to do what Chifuyu had suggested.
***
"Here's your background check documents, Tsuguha." Jeffrey threw a folder into Chifuyu's hands, a few days later after Chifuyu's on-site investigation with Taylor.
"Thanks for your hard work, Jeffrey." Chifuyu thanked him with a smile, opening the folder to start reading it.
"You really like making other people do the hard stuff for you, huh?" Jeffrey folded his arms in front of his chest.
"I am just a personally hired consultant that only provide minor investigation services after all," Chifuyu shrugged slightly, "It seems my job is negligeable yet makes such a difference," he suddenly gave Jeffrey a condescending smirk.
"Seems like it, you're so smart, aren't you?" Jeffrey rolled his eyes, genuinely tired of Chifuyu's arrogance. A smirk appeared on Chifuyu's face in the end of his reading, he closed the folder an hour later.
"Interesting information actually, you did great." Chifuyu grinned, lightly flicking his finger at his chain earring.
"I'm flattered," Jeffrey responded sarcastically as he rolled his eyes.
"Oh, Jeffrey, you're here." Taylor entered the office.
"It's been a few days now, can you bring in Mason Jill for questioning, please?" Chifuyu asked Taylor.
"Just him?" Taylor raised a brow.
"Yep, he's the one I only took interest in. Besides, it's suspected that he lied during his testimony and he has a criminal record, right?" Chifuyu nodded his head.
"Okay, I'll take you to the office." Taylor didn't take off his hat and coat, heading out again but with Chifuyu this time.
"Do you want to check my house or something?! Go on and check my house! I'm innocent!" Mason was shouting to defend himself when he had been secured into an interrogation room with Taylor, "Just because I attempted to kidnap someone in the past, doesn't mean I'm the one who did this!" he added, folding his arms.
"Yeah, sure..." Chifuyu rolled his eyes when he entered the room, "No need for that, I just want you to stay still." He closed the door behind him.
"Y-You're the prodigy Japanese investigator, aren't you?" Mason was somewhat surprised.
"Aww, tu me flattes." Chifuyu smiled, an artificial joyful one. "I'm just here to do one thing, nothing more." He added and moved closer to Mason to sniff him from a distance.
"D-Did you just sniff me??" Mason was surprised, while Taylor's jaw dropped. "Are the Japanese this weird?!" he moved away from Chifuyu, who was raising his upper body back up and turned to Taylor to give him his smug smile when Mason wasn't looking. It's the specific type of smirk Chifuyu always uses to tell Taylor when his suspicions are confirmed to be correct, when Chifuyu is confident that he had found the crime executant.
"Just with a sniff? What???" Taylor was paused for a moment, but he approached Mason calmly a moment later. "Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Jill." He thanked Mason before proceeding to handcuff him.
"H-Hey, aren't you letting me go home?!" Mason was confused.
"Not when you're the perpetrator, Mr. Jill." Taylor gave him to two security officers, "Take him away," he told the two officers.
"W-What?! It's not me!! Hey!!" Mason was screaming as the two officers took him away.
"Care to explain now?" Taylor turned around to Chifuyu, who was sitting on the desk rubbing the end of his chain earring between his thumb and index.
"Bien sûr," Chifuyu smiled confidently, "I was glad Mason Jill is ballsy and arrogant enough to leave traced of himself everywhere, even on the victims. It was the specific scent of perfume left at the crime scene and victims, and I was sure the smell left on the scenes are a major clue. The reason I made you send the suspects home is for them to think they're freed and they will return to their normal daily routine, which will include even putting on perfume. And I took a sniff of him to confirm my theory, and I'm correct as always, he wears the same dank perfume I immediately smelled when I entered the crime scenes." He explained self-assuredly.
"Smell, huh...?" Taylor nodded his head, following Chifuyu's explanation.
"From his background information Jeffrey provided me; Mason Jill has a really nasty past with a broken home and family issues; I suspect him to have psychopathic behaviour from those traumas, he doesn't need a motive to commit these crimes." Chifuyu added.
"So, you really don't need much clues to find the crime executor. You can solve this case just by information easily accessible by the Paris Police and one subtle clue from the crime scene." Taylor said, "You amaze me yet again, Chifuyu." He smiled.
"Oh, please. You're exaggerating my work," Chifuyu rolled his eyes, his head following by limping to the side. "It's that simple, old man, you really are just getting old." He grumbled with an arrogant expression before smirking.
"Do you want me to stop complementing you and start acting like a hard-to-be-pleased senior or something?" Taylor was snorted in impatience.
"Ha-ha, good one, old man." Chifuyu stood up and walked out of the room.
"Tsuguha, you're here." Emma made Chifuyu stop his pace as soon as he left the room.
"Do you need something?" he raised a brow lazily.
"I may need your assistance; another Japanese was found murdered just now." Emma told him as Taylor walked out of the door.
"What?!" Taylor was shocked, while Chifuyu just widened his eyes.
"Yes, the victim is 26-year-old Yamato Saki, records say she just arrived here from Japan three days ago." Emma nodded her head.
"Mr. Reaper isn't wasting his time, is he..." Chifuyu sighed and groaned at the same time, "Best to find out if it's a hitman's doing or one of the Harvesters' first," he added.
"I agree, that's why I'm here to take you there." Emma agreed.
"Alright,"
"Let's move," Emma turned to walk away after Chifuyu nodded, and Taylor followed.
"A slit throat? How boring..." Chifuyu mumbled when he arrived at the scene and was scanning the victim, "Such a common method of murder, I'm sure this work of a hitman." He said, folding his arms in front of his chest.
"Another one who's threatened to murder?" Taylor shook his head.
"There's a big possibility that a threatened murderer is the case here; they used a method commonly used for fast executions, which indicates they wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible." Chifuyu explained, "Also, I'm really sure the Harvesters would done something more 'epic' or 'abstract' because of how they cruel are." He added.
"You're right, good thinking." Taylor nodded in agreement, "I'll have men to investigate the area for witnesses, hopefully someone will come forward." He added.
"Remember to get special forces to handle the hitman, he might be mentally shaken like the others." Chifuyu reminded Taylor.
"Right," Taylor nodded as he walked away.
"The Reaper had this Japanese immigrant in just three days after she arrived, he probably didn't think twice to send someone to murder her as soon as he found out about her immigration." Chifuyu thought as he stared at the corpse two feet in front of his feet, "The Harvesters are a special assassin unit under The Reaper and they're probably focusing on Japanese people like me right now, I doubt I'm the only one difficult to be assassinated by his killers and they must be perusing for new assassination methods. But I'll make sure you're in the death penalty before you can see or hear me dead!" he clenched his grip on his sleeve.
"Tsuguha," Emma approached him, "I just received information that Yamato Saki arrived here for a one-week visit, she took the risk to visit her grandfather, Yamato Atsu." She told him.
"Where is he now?!" Chifuyu seemed rushed.
"We have the address for his house where Yamato Saki was staying at, I have a copy-"
"Merci!" Chifuyu snatched the paper Emma pulled out of her coat and he leaped onto a roof as he looked at the address.
"Hey, Tsuguha!" Emma was confused when Chifuyu suddenly sprinted away on the roofs.
"Where did he run off to?" Taylor ran to Emma in confusion.
"Yamato Atsu's residence," Emma responded, and Taylor paused for a second from a sudden realization.
"Keep everything in procedure here, I'll catch up to him." Taylor told her.
"Understood," Emma saluted as Taylor ran to his car and starts driving.
"Chifuyu certainly is a fast thinker and he thinks far ahead; he might be suspecting the murderer to be after Yamato Saki's relative next, since she might be seen visiting him." Taylor was driving his car thinking about so.
"Please, don't! Leave me alone!" an old Japanese man was on his bottom and backing away from the young lady, armed with a bloody knife in front of him.
"Be quiet already, old man. You'll be able to join your granddaughter soon," the lady stepped towards the frail and defenceless old man.
"Someone, help me!" the old man was begging and feebly shouting.
"Don't hold it against me, sir, I have no choice." The lady raised the knife, just when the glass window next to them shattered into a million pieces with a loud noise. Chifuyu had jumped and broke through with a kick, "What the-?!" the young lady stepped away in surprise as Chifuyu landed in the room. The lady swung her knife when Chifuyu dashed towards her, but Chifuyu grabbed her wrist and twisted her arm into a locking position before hitting her abdomen to knock her unconscious, all done in a matter of three seconds and the old man was flabbergasted as Chifuyu sighed in relieve. He slowly laid the young lady on the floor and placed the bloody knife aside, swayed his hand as he squinted his eyes slightly in suspicion of the blood left on the knife.
"She must be the one sent to kill Yamato Saki as well," Chifuyu thought as he turned to the old man, "Yamato-san, are you hurt?" he squatted, out of breath from running all the way.
"T-Thank you, young man, you saved me..." Yamato Atsu grabbed onto Chifuyu's sleeve, "My granddaughter... Saki, where is she?" he asked Chifuyu.
"I knew you would come here, Tsuguha Chifuyu." A deep voice was from the opened door behind Chifuyu, and Chifuyu rapidly turned around to see a masked Harvester standing in front of the opened door.
"A Harvester?!" Chifuyu was surprised and he positioned himself in front of the old man.
"This just makes my hunting job a lot easier," the Harvester cracked his knuckles to gesture challenging.
"He has a bigger body type and a deeper voice, he's not one of the two I encountered before, a third of the four Harvesters." Chifuyu was observing the Harvester's figure, and he noticed a serial number sewed on the Harvester's left shoulder of his black suit. "03? They have assigned serial numbers? I never noticed that since I was less focused on their appearance when encountering the ones in the past, then what number are the other two?" he thought.
"Let's do this outside, if you don't want this old man and young lady to the killed with you." The Harvester told him.
"Stay here, sir." Chifuyu slowly stood up from his squat and walked out to the dirt road outside in the deserted area. The Harvester charged at Chifuyu as soon as he stepped a foot outside, sending him flying meters away and crashing into a musty wooden bench.
"He's so much stronger and faster than the other two!" Chifuyu thought as he coughed out blood and parts of his body were aching already, caught off guard by the Harvester's attack.
"What's wrong, Tsuguha Chifuyu?! I thought you're much more of a fighter!" the Harvester walked towards him as Chifuyu slowly stood up, but the Harvester abruptly flitted and launched a punch, which Chifuyu was fortunately able to dodge by moving to the side. Chifuyu leaped to keep his distance from the Harvester, and the Harvester chuckled from the pain Chifuyu was in.
"I bet the other two only told him how hard I am to apprehend; they probably didn't tell each other how I face them. I can try my luck!" Chifuyu thought and took out his pocket knife, "The element of surprise might work against this one," he took a stance, but the Harvester dashed to him and Chifuyu barely dodged his attack.
"I'm going to take my time with you," Chifuyu could hear the Harvester's smirk without seeing it with his own eyes and Chifuyu somersaulted away, "You're just going to keep running away from me?" the Harvester suddenly dashed to Chifuyu as soon as he landed on his feet and hits Chifuyu's chest.
"Just a little longer..." Chifuyu took a few steps back from the impact and held onto his aching chest, heavily breathing as he kept his eyes on the Harvester.
"You're done for!" the Harvester launched a punch with his left hand towards Chifuyu, this time, Chifuyu grabbed the Harvester's wrist with his left hand as he moved to the side to dodge. Chifuyu launched his right leg to hit the Harvester's back and doubled his strike by stabbing his knife to the back of his opponent's knee, "W-What?!" all executed in a rapid motion that caught the Harvester off guard, and Chifuyu forced the Harvester unconscious with a roundhouse kick using his heel.
"Ow, ow..." Chifuyu sighed as he bent down to sit down on the ground, next to the unconscious Harvester and finally able to breathe. He quickly secured the Harvester's limbs with a big rope he found nearby before reaching to unmask the unknown man, "A Russian?" he was surprised to see the man's face as a police car stopped nearby.
"Chifuyu!" Taylor ran out of his car.
"No, halt!" Chifuyu stopped Taylor from running to him further by raising his palm at him, "S-Secure the woman in there first, she's the hitman. I'll keep an eye on this guy," he pointed to the house closest to them.
"O-Okay," Taylor was worried about him, but did what he said anyways. He secured the woman in handcuffs and placed her into the back of the car before contacting for his men to come to the location, while Yamato Atsu was kept near the car within sight. "A Russian Harvester?" Taylor was standing next to Chifuyu, who was sitting near the unconscious Harvester.
"I doubt any of the Harvesters are Japanese, despite they use a Japanese superstition on their masks. How ironic..." Chifuyu rolled his eyes, "Ugh, ow..." he rubbed the side of his back where he felt a throb of pain.
"The medics will be here soon," Taylor squatted next to him, "Sorry, you've been dealing with these Harvesters on your own..." he patted Chifuyu's head.
"It's less troublesome handling them on my own, I prefer working alone after all." Chifuyu averted his eyes and yawned, "I'm so tired..." he sighed.
"Detective Anderson!" Emma ran to Taylor, who was leaning by the car when Emma arrived with Jeffrey and the other men.
"Take care of the hitman and the Harvester, secure the Harvester in solitary confinement with top security." Taylor told her as the men began taking the young lady and the Harvester in separate armoured vehicles.
"Is Tsuguha okay over there?! He fought against the Harvester, didn't he?!" Jeffrey saw Chifuyu lying on the ground with his back facing them, but Taylor smiled.
"Don't worry, he's just sleeping." He snickered.
"S-Sleeping...?" Jeffrey grunted in somewhat annoyance.
"You secretly care about him, do you?" Emma asked him.
"Non! He's just a colleague!" Jeffrey folded his arms as he looked away, while medics approached Chifuyu to treat his wounds.
"Chifuyu's a tough kid," Taylor patted Jeffrey's shoulder.
The unmasked Harvester woke up in a sealed room and he was secured in a special suit that limits his movements, he was trying to release himself when Taylor walked into the sealed room with Jeffrey and two other armed security officers.
"Ruslan Makarov, age 36 and transmigrated to Paris from Russia 12 years ago." Taylor had a folder in his hands, "It seems that you're one of the Harvesters and is working for The Reaper," he closed the file.
"You got that right, officer." Ruslan smirked.
"Is there a reason why you're a proud subordinate of The Reaper?" Taylor handed the folder for Jeffrey to hold.
"He's a great man of power," Ruslan responded with a confident smile.
"Is there a reason why you encourage The Reaper's act for eliminating all Japanese who arrives to Paris?" Taylor folded his arms in front of his chest.
"I despise the Japanese as well; the Japanese are annoying as hell and entitled just because they think they're smarter." Ruslan responded.
"Can't argue with that..." Jeffrey averted his eyes, Chifuyu was the first person who popped in his head.
"But I don't know about that young Japanese runt working for you, he's an interesting one. Nonetheless, I can tell you one thing, that he has the same eyes as my lord." Ruslan smirked.
"What do you mean?" Taylor raised a brow.
"It's eyes of strong determination and hatred, I believe there are certain states where those 'eyes' appear and scream those emotions of determination and hatred. For my lord, it's when he found yet another Japanese in Paris and desires to erase them. But for Tsuguha Chifuyu, it's when he's defined to finish off his enemy." Ruslan explained.
"I don't know if you're speaking nonsense or not," Taylor was unconvinced.
"Tsuguha Chifuyu has a specific hatred towards Parisians, correct?" Ruslan asked, Taylor paused before nodding hesitantly in slight surprise. "Tsuguha Chifuyu is the most interesting Japanese fella amongst all I've encountered, and something tells me, that he's not far different from The Reaper himself." Ruslan smirked.
"Don't you dare compare my subordinate to your despicable lord," Taylor growled lightly.
"Detective Anderson, I don't think we'll be getting anything from him. He's just changing the subject," Jeffrey whispered to Taylor.
"Je suis d'accord," Taylor nodded, "We'll be back for questioning another time, have a nice day." He turned to walk out of the room.
"Sure, come back anytime, monsieur." Ruslan responded before the door shut.
"At least I don't think he'll be going back to as a Harvester since his identity has been uncovered, surely The Reaper will be unhappy and disown him." Jeffrey told Taylor, "It might explain why he was so calm, but he didn't seem to be interested in revealing further information regarding The Reaper." He added.
"Which is why we're keeping him in that special sealed room, he's a powerful combatant that we need to be aware around too." Taylor reminded Jeffrey.
"Yes, sir." Jeffrey nodded, before separating from Taylor to take a different turn. Taylor entered the infirmary of the office where Chifuyu was sleeping at, "Maybe, those 'eyes' only surfaced and only experienced by to those he considers his enemies..." Taylor thought as he stared at Chifuyu, who was peacefully sleeping.
