Eve would open her window to look outside every night, where the Alabaster would come to sit on her window and chat with her. The Alabaster would have to come to talk to her, or else she would throw paper balls to his head until she gets his attention. It has been a few nights of night visits to Eve's window and Eve has been opening up to him, yet the Alabaster himself seldomly talks about himself.
"Do you like macarons? I have some we can eat together," Eve has started having food to share with the boy.
"Are you lonely or something? You have to stop calling me over if you don't want to get in trouble with your old man," the boy told her, eating a mini macaron in one bite.
"I'm don't really get along with other girls here, so I'm a little lonely..." Eve admitted.
"Maybe it's because you're weird, Evening-san." The boy rolled his eyes.
"Stop calling me a weirdo," Eve pouted, "Also, just call me 'Eve'." she told him.
"Eve...? Fine," the boy obeyed and sighed, "I heard your old man is investigating the kidnapping of Rose Wright," he said, leaning on the casing of the window.
"That's right, but my dad seems to be at a dead end." Eve sighed.
"That's because your old man is looking at the wrong place, he didn't even investigate Rose Wright's house." The boy rolled his eyes once again as he groaned, "Tell him to go to her house and search her room," he told Eve.
"Ng? Why?" Eve was confused.
"I've heard of the details from the radio, Rose Wright was suspected to be kidnapped by Johnny Rock, right? Because Rose Wright's friends clarified that she was being stalked by Johnny Rock," the boy explained, "There has to be clues left by the stalker around the house, and it would be easier to identify foreign objects or DNA because Rose Wright lives alone. Just tell you old man that, he'll know what to do." He continued.
"Wow... I didn't expect you to be this smart, Alabaster." Eve was surprised.
"I'm not taking that as a compliment," the boy was somewhat offended, then he went silent for a few seconds. "It's Tsuguha Chifuyu," he added as he looked away.
"Huh?" Eve paused in confusion.
"You wanted to know my name, didn't you? There's your answer," Chifuyu gave her a cynical look.
"Um, Tsuguha-kun...?" Eve was hesitant.
"You know Japanese etiquette, huh?" Chifuyu was slightly impressed.
"I learned them since I was young," Eve smiled.
"Sure. Alright, I have to get going." Chifuyu puts his mask back on and prepared to jump out, "Bonne soirée, Eve." He raised his two fingers.
"See you," Eve responded as he jumped off of the window, to the roof of the building outside and starts his journey back to his home.

Eve walked out of her room in the morning, meeting her father in the private investigator's room. Shelves of books were the walls of the room and stacks of documents were on each side of the big wooden table in the room, where Detective Taylor was sitting behind on his chair.
"Good morning, Eve." Taylor greeted his daughter.
"Good morning, Dad." Eve shut the door behind her, then approached her father's desk. "Are you still working on Rose Wright's kidnapping?" she asked her father.
"Yes, we're trying to find a clue where she might be held at." Taylor sighed heavily.
"W-Why not try searching her house?" Eve suggested hesitantly, and Taylor turned his attention to her with a curious look. "Johnny Rock is the main suspect, right? And Rose Wright's friends claimed that Johnny Rock is her stalker, so there must be clues left in her house. You know, she lives alone and it'll be easy to identify foreign objects or DNA." She continued with a doubtful tone.
"Hm, you could be right." Taylor began to think, "Alright, I'll request an investigation team to investigate her house." He stood up from his chair to take his coat and tall hat.
"You're going to the office?" Eve didn't expect her father to immediately leave.
"Don't worry, Victor will come visit soon." Taylor patted his daughter's head, and left the building.
"V-Victor..." Eve had forgotten she was betrothed to the gentleman her father mentioned.
"Hello, Evening." Eve opened the door to a young man not long after, his brown hair and neat appearance was unmistakable to others.
"Victor, hi." Eve nervously allowed him into the house.
"I brought more macarons since you really loved the last batch, want to eat them together?" Victor removed his hat and lifted a box to offer to Eve.
"Thank you, Victor. I really appreciate it," Eve accepted his gift with a smile, and the gentleman placed the left side of her hair over her ear with his hand.
"You're getting prettier and prettier each day, Evening." Victor gave her his charming smile, but Eve just responded with an awkward grin.
"Let me make some tea," Eve brought the box to the kitchen, starting to make soe tea and present a few macarons on a plate.
"How's your father's investigation? Has he found any leads to the recent kidnapping?" Victor sat down on the sofa in the living room, as Eve placed the tea on the coffee table.
"I suggested him to investigate Rose Wright's house, and he's doing that right now." Eve replied.
"You're very smart, Evening." Victor praised her as she sat down on the seat across from him, where she laughed awkwardly. "Evening," he made her turn to him.
"Yes?" Eve responded.
"Do you not like me?" Victor asked her, his question made her flustered. "I can see you're not comfortable with me, you can tell me if you aren't." He told her.
"U-Um, it's not that I don't like you, Victor... You're a very nice person," Eve doesn't know how to respond, she doesn't want to admit she has fallen for someone else. "You know this engagement is from our parents, Victor, it's just because of that. You don't really like me too, right?" she asked him with an awkward smile.
"What are you saying? I love you, Evening." Victor corrected her, "You're beautiful, kind, and intelligent. I truly love you," he told her.
"T-Thank you..." Eve was flustered.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." Victor apologized, "Maybe I should get going, I think you need some time." He stood up.
"I'm sorry, Victor..." Eve felt bad and bowed repeatedly.
"No problem, I'll come visit another time." Victor smiled to her, "A la prochaine, Evening." He puts his tall hat back on as he slightly bowed, then walked out of sight. Eve shuts the door and sighed in relieve, resting her forehead against the door as she glanced down to the ring in her finger.
"I'm sorry, Victor... But I don't love you one bit..." Eve mumbled, before walking back to her room and throwing herself onto her bed. Her head was filled by another gentleman, not the man she was engaged to, but of the Japanese orphan who always visited her at night. His striking appearance and iconic mischievous smile were all she could think about, she looked up to face the ceiling with blushed cheeks and a shy smile on her face.
"What the heck are you smiling about?"
"UWAAAH!!" Chifuyu's abrupt appearance made Eve jump up in shock, Chifuyu's left brow was raised in wait of answers as he sat down on the stool of the opened window. "T-Tsuguha-kun, w-why are you here...?" Eve was rubbing her chest, where she thought her heart was inches away from bursting out of.
"I got bored, and I decided to stop by since I saw your old man at the police station." Chifuyu leaned his back as Eve sat down on her bed, "So, are you going to answer my question?" Chifuyu gave her an arrogant look.
"What question?" Eve had no idea.
"Forget it," Chifuyu gave up instantly, stepping down and his chain earring made a light noise. "Did you tell him to investigate Rose Wright's house, is that why he's out of his cave?" he asked Eve.
"Indeed, and so sorry... I'm kind of taking the credit for that idea," Eve nodded and admitted.
"I'm not expecting to be repaid anyways, I don't care." Chifuyu shrugged, "Oh, right. I just broke into another person's house and got something interesting," he reached into his cloak.
"When are you going to stop robbing people...?" Eve was hoping he would stop his mischievous habit.
"Hey, I'm not even keeping their treasures to myself, it's just a game I like to play." Chifuyu smirked, "Ta-da~," he pulled out a diamond watch, its gems sparkling in the sunlight that screamed how expensive the item is, Eve was flabbergasted.
"I've never seen such a design before... Was it a single-work?" Eve was observing the watch in Chifuyu's hand.
"You want it? I can give it to you if you want, it's no use to me." Chifuyu was dangling the watch as if it was a disgusting object to hold, "And you're right, only one of this design exists, it's here in my hand." He grinned.
"If it's no use to you, why did you take it?" Eve asked him.
"You never walk around town and eavesdrop or something?" Chifuyu raised a brow.
"I can sense that you always do, Tsuguha-kun..." Eve should've expected he was as astute as his signature grin.
"Everyone should've known who this belongs to by now," Chifuyu lightly sighed, placing the watch in Eve's hands. "Give it to your old man, Eve. I'm sure he'll know who this belongs to," he gave Eve a wink, that somehow made Eve's heart skipped a beat.
"Stop calling my father that! You have no respect for elders," Eve changed the topic.
"Whatever, once an old man, always an old man." Chifuyu shrugged, "You can tell me the results of your old man's investigation tonight, bonne soirée, Eve." He jumped to the stool of the window and raised his two fingers with a grin on his face.
"Bonne soirée," Eve waved, and Chifuyu left the building as Eve lowered her hand.
"Hey, I'm not even keeping their treasures to myself, it's just a game I like to play." Chifuyu's words repeated in Eve's head as she dazed out the window.
"A game, huh...?" Eve mumbled.

When night falls, Taylor finally returned home from his investigation and was taking off his coat to hang on the wooden stand, when Eve stopped not far from him to greet him.
"Welcome back, Dad." Eve bowed to her father.
"Eve!" Taylor grabbed his daughter's shoulders and was holding her close in front of his face.
"Y-Yes?!" Eve was caught off guard.
"We caught the kidnapper, and Rose Wright is safe." Taylor's eyes were filled with amazement, making Eve more and more confused. "It was all thanks to your suggestion, that was a wonderful idea! It is true that we found foreign objects and DNA that lead to the location where Rose Wright was held captive. I had no idea my daughter is this intelligent when it comes to crimes!" admiration was in his emerald eyes.
"T-That's great, I'm glad Ms. Wright is okay." Eve was overwhelmed by her father.
"Let me know if you find out anything else, okay? Who knows? You might be a big help again," Taylor was so proud of his daughter.
"Y-Yes, Dad." Eve was awkwardly smiling.
"I heard about it on the radio, luckily she was fine." A few hours have passed, Chifuyu was sitting on the stool of Eve's bedroom window, leaning his back as the night breeze blew his hair and cloak.
"Still, I don't like that I'm taking all the credit..." Eve felt like she doesn't deserve the admiration.
"I don't mind, it helped either way." Chifuyu lightly sighed.
"You actually care about other people, do you? Even if they're Paris people," Eve smiled.
"Don't get the wrong idea," Chifuyu rolled his eyes.
