Chapter 27 - First Quarrel

Without looking back again, they immediately left the cafe. One of the bodyguards took Kelvin's official car back to the office so he and Harris could go home with Luliyah, in Kelvin's private car.

The sun was starting to set as they stood outside the cafe, waiting for Agi to park the car and pick them up. The afternoon wind blew softly, sweeping the leaves scattered on the ground. The sunshine that afternoon was bright and blinding.

Kelvin frowned as the sunlight struck his eyes. His eyes felt uncomfortable from the bright sunlight. Luliyah could see Kelvin's uncomfortable expression so she immediately raised her hand, blocking the sun shining on the man's face. Even though her hands were small and couldn't be too helpful to block out the sunlight, at least she wanted to do something for Kelvin who helped her a lot.

Harris quickly took out Kelvin's sunglasses from his suitcase and handed them to Luliyah. Luliyah tiptoed slightly to put the sunglasses on Kelvin's face. As she did so, she saw Kelvin's beautiful brown eyes appear brighter in the sun. Those eyeballs were so bright that she could see her reflection when Kelvin was staring at her.

'Too bad these beautiful eyes can't see' Luliyah thought to herself.#

She did not know that Kelvin was looking closely at her face closely. Even though the sunlight made his eye feel uncomfortable and a little blurry, he could still faintly see the beautiful face of the woman in front of him. The make-up on the woman's face was completely removed after she cleaned her face, but her natural beauty still radiated amazingly. Her dark black eyes was staring straight into Kelvin's eye, making Kelvin feel like he was going to sink into her gaze.

He could see a smile blooming on the woman's face after putting the sunglasses on his face, as if she was happy to be able to provide a little help to Kelvin. Luliyah's smile seemed contagious, making a faint smile appear on Kelvin's face. This little gesture might seem simple, but anyone who witnessed it would feel the intimacy between the two of them. Too bad the two people seemed completely unaware of the atmosphere between them.

Meanwhile, Harris could only look at the two of them awkwardly and hoped that Agi would park the car as soon as possible, so he would pick them up. He felt like a fly in the midst of the young, newly married couple. He could only stare at the two people in confusion and did not know what to do. In the end, he averted his gaze, staring at the road, the trees and even the sky.

Fortunately, Agi just arrived. Kelvin's luxurious black car stopped right in front of them. After that, Agi hurriedly got of the driver's seat to open the door for Kelvin and Luliyah, while Harris got into the passenger seat at the front.

When Kelvin got into the car, he closed his eyes. He rested his eyes, trying to ease the discomfort he felt from the bright sunlight. Seeing this, Luliyah felt a little worried, but she didn't dare to say anything. She didn't want to disturb Kelvin's rest, so she looked at window enjoying the view outside the car.

"Next time, don't be quiet if someone is bullying you." Kelvin suddenly spoke. He said this while his eyes was still tightly closed.

Kelvin's words made Luliyah turn her head, retracing her gaze away from the window. She stared at Kelvin's face for a moment before lowering her head in embarrassment.

"But, he is my father..."

Luliyah's answer made Kelvin open his eye. The look in his eye was so cold, not gentle like before. "You are Kelvin Williams's wife. If you are humiliated in public like that, my pride will also be hurt. Do you understand?" Kelvin replied firmly.

Luliyah understood what Kelvin meant. Kelvin wanted to tell her that as his wife, whatever she was doing represented the name Williams, especially Kelvin. If she could be bullied and humiliated by others at will, it will be tantamount to destroying Kelvin's reputation. Luliyah must maintain her attitude and the reputation that Kelvin has as a member of the Williams family.

"I would have fought if only Natali did it to me, not father..." Luliyah did not finish the sentence she wanted to say. She wanted to say that she loved her father and would not disrespect him regardless of how he treated her. But, she didn't dare to finish her statement. She didn't dare to explain her reason to Kelvin.

Luliyah could only swallow her saliva and shut her mouth. Kelvin has helped her a lot. At least this was all Luliyah could do for the man. She should maintain her attitude and defend herself when being humiliated by others in public. She would not want to tarnish Kelvin's name and reputation he had built over the years.

"Don't meet the Parker Family again." Kelvin said coldly.

Luliyah did not intend to meet Natali again. She already understood Natali's true nature and behavior. It would have been better if they were not related. The same applies to Natali's mother, Mona; who was now Mrs Parker. Luliyah absolutely had no intention of having anything to do with the two people again.

But what about her father?

She was her father's daughter. Her father's blood will forever flow in her body. Even though her father did not love her, care for and educate her; Martins Parker was still her father. How could she not meet her father?

Kelvin saw Luliyah shut her mouth tightly and her eyes gleamed with sadness. He could only sigh.

"Kindness and compassion is your greatest strength. But at the same time, those traits are also your weakness." Kelvin tried to remind Luliyah.

"I know..." She replied softly.

Kelvin was annoyed with the hesitation in Luliyah's response. Indeed, his request was not something easy to fulfill, but Luliyah should have known better. How long has she been maltreated by her father like this? Didn't she realize that her father was just using her?

She should be able to learn from
