Whirling around, Mr. Aizawa's eyes widen as he sees people walking out of the apparent portal. "Cool! They even have fake villains!"
At Kirishima's shout, Mr. Aizawa throws out his hand to stop the few students that have taken a step forward. "Stop! Those are real villains!"
"Are you sure about that, nya?" At my question, he gives me an incredulous look.
"Of course I'm sure. This was supposed to be rescue training, not a combat scenario." By this point people have stopped coming out of the portal.
"Well, purrhaps Nezu wanted them to be a surprise? Isn't that the kind of thing he'd mew?"
That causes both Mr. Aizawa and Thirteen to pause as they start thinking. On one hand, the day was supposed to get the students rescue training. On the other, it is absolutely like Nezu to surprise everyone by including fake villains in a heroics lesson. Aizawa has done it himself to teach his students to expect the unexpected. But the aura they give off…
"No." Mr. Aizawa shakes his head. "If Nezu wanted to include villains in the day's lesson, he would have mentioned it." He lowers his goggles and grips his scarf, preparing himself for combat. Only to pause at my next words.
"But then wouldn't nya-larms be going off? So many villains being able to break into UA is a bite…" I trail off, not really needing to say anything else. But Todoroki decides to counter my argument.
"They could have someone who's quirk is masking their presence here." I flick my ears in acknowledgement of the possibility as he continues. "Whatever their plan, they must have a concrete objective in mind."
By this point the class is split on believing whether or not they're real villains or a surprise by Nezu. But that doesn't matter to our teacher.
"Regardless of whether or not this is something Nezu cooked up, until we have confirmation either way this is an emergency situation. Kaminari, try using your quirk to contact the school. I'll deal with the villains while Thirteen protects you all."
While Kaminari does as he asks, I shrug my shoulders and summon five mage cats. "Well if that's how it's going to nya, might as well give you some support." He spares a glance in my direction before nodding in appreciation.
As my cats line up at the top of the stairs, he jumps down as Midorinya tries to lecture him about how he's not suited to fighting groups of enemies. I guess he hasn't learned this yet, despite having a variety of gloves for different situations. "A hero isn't any good if they only have one set of claws."
At his look of confusion, I use my tail to point at our teacher, who's absolutely beating the ever-loving nya out of the villains/possible actors. 'Well, the more he beats down, the more I'm thinking that they're actual villains. Actors wouldn't have signed up to fight an actual hero.'
And that's not even counting my mage cats who are raining hairballs down on them. I can see that they've knocked a few people out themselves by concentrating their fire.
"Catia, this is no time to be admiring your work! We have to go!" Looking over my shoulder, I see that the rest of the class besides Midorinya, who's watching next to me, are already halfway to the door. Tapping him on the arm to get his attention, we make our way over as well.
But before we can reach it, a dark portal opens up on the floor, forcing us to stop. From it rises a smokestack made of the same material, with slanted glowing yellow eyes.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. We are the League of Villains." They introduce their organization. "I know that is impolite, but we have decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say hello-" I interrupt before he can continue.
"Hello, nya. Sorry to interrupt, but quick question, did nya principal hire you guys to enhance our training?"
The shadow's eyes vanish for a moment. I'm assuming that they blinked? And… now everyone else is looking at me too. Pouting, I cross my arms. "What? I just want to clawify."
"No, we were not. We are here to ensure the Symbol of Peace takes his last breath. We were under the impression that he was meant to be here today, and yet I see no sign of him. Perhaps there was a change in schedule? Might any of you know where he is?"
Stepping forward, I put my hand over Thirteen's, shaking my head at her attempt to use her quirk on the villain. 'He has portals. He can just redirect it back at you', is what I try to convey with my eyes. It's also why I haven't ordered my mage cats to turn around and target them. Portals make every fight harder.
"He's nyat here yet. Purrhaps he got stuck in a meeting? But if you let one of us check, I'm sure he'll be here fast as an ear's twitch."
Ok, the fact that everyone is staring again is starting to irritate me. "As useful as that would be, I'm afraid that I'll have to decline. I doubt that All Might alone would appear."
"IN THAT CASE DIE!" Bakugou charges in with Kirishima, their quirks at full blast, and I can't help but click my tongue at their brashness.
'Given how polite the villain seems, I probably could have kept them busy for a few more minutes without having to worry about any attacks. Bakahoe!'
And when the smoke from his explosion clears, it reveals the villain completely unharmed, the smoke that seems to make up his body simply reforming to its previous shape. The mockery in his voice is clear to all of us. "You live up to your school's reputation. But you should be more careful, children, otherwise you might get hurt."
His form expands, enveloping everyone and blocking our vision. A wind pressure builds up from what he's doing, and then I have a sensation of falling, then landing. When I open my eyes I see that I'm somewhere else.
"Purrhaps one of the disaster zones, since they don't want us to warn the catpus." Looking around the rocky landscape, I see that I'm not alone. Not only are Mineta and Kaminari getting up from where they'd been dropped, but we're surrounded by villains. Only… these villains are a lot different from the ones we saw at the center square.
They're all around our age. I'm not the only one taken off guard by this. "Woah! Was there another class doing exercises here?"
I sigh at the idiotic remark Kaminari makes. "No, Kaminari. They're with the League of Villains, nya."
While he becomes gobsmacked, staring at them with his mouth hanging open, Mineta decides to be…Mineta. "At least there are some cuties mixed in with them. I wouldn't mind being choked between her thighs."
Rolling my eyes, I nevertheless follow his gaze.
And my tail stiffens up behind me.
Coming out from behind a tall boy with a head similar to a rock is a girl in a red jumpsuit with a pink chest. Mid-thigh down her outfit becomes black and patterned with flowers before ending in slippers with a bow. Along with the oversized cat-themed hood, an iconic cat's head on her chest rounds out the outfit.
Oh, and we can't forget to mention the large speakers her hands are stuck in. Nor the white cat-speaker robots walking beside her. Hearing Mineta's comment, she smiles at him, the threat thinly hidden behind her natural softness.
"That won't be happening to mew," she says, leveling one of her speakers at him. "But I will be happy to rock your mind with my elite beat. Which will stop mew from soiling the goddess' presence with your impure aesthetic."
He takes a step back while Kaminari holds up his hands in a placating gesture. "Hold on a minute cutie. While I can respect the beat, I don't think we need to be bleak. Do we really need to fight, or can we sit down and be tight?" He blinks, shaking his head. "Woah, that was trippy. Why are my words being picky?"
She smirks as she aims her other arm speaker at him. "A quirk to keep the beat, which lays the groundwork for your defeat. Not mine, but theirs align. With my sharp power rise."
And she lets loose with her weapons, launching a soundwave from her hands directly at the two boys. Kaminari lets his quirk flow from his body while bracing himself. Mineta pulls two balls off of his head and sticks them to the floor to stop himself from flying off.
But that's not the only danger of her quirk, which is why the two defense cats I summoned while they were talking set themselves in front of them and take the brunt of the blast. They would be able to take the attack no problem under normal circumstances. But she was being serious when she said the quirk making them speak in beats doesn't belong to her.
Her speakers pulse, and the music trying to break my cats starts to gain lyrics.
"An elite beat to defeat your impure aesthetic. Yes, we have to fight, it's too bad we can't be tight. I don't make the beats, just turn them direct. Now, it's time for you to WRECK!"
With each word the force pushing my cats rises, and it doesn't take long before they begin sliding back with motes of light starting to drift off. Luckily for Kaminari he can place his hands on the defense cat's back and manages to slide back with it, though he does start to take some of the damage himself.
Mineta has it harder, his small size and immobility forcing the cat to take more damage to prevent it from tripping over him.
But the last words blasts out with the most force, and both cats vanish in a flash of light. Kaminari gets launched away from us, landing by the onlookers. They try to grab him, but the blanket use of his quirk holds them back. At least until he panics.
"1.3 MILLION VOLTS!" Electricity shoots out from him, striking everyone in the vicinity. Luckily for me he's far enough away now that I'm just barely outside the area of effect.
Unfortunately for him, so are some of the villains. And they waste no time charging in and tying up the brain-dead boy. Seeing him get taken down, I click my tongue while looking between the girl and Mineta. 'One down', I think.
While Mineta struggles to his feet, a small trickle of blood leaking from his ear, the girl looks at me with an aggrieved expression, causing me to glare while my tail lashes angrily.
"Why are you stopping me? We're doing this for mew!"
"Huh?" Mineta looks between the two of us with a confused look while my tail begins to puff up.
"Mineta," I explain. "This here is Nekomura Iroha, leader of the Cult of Nya."
She smiles at me before bowing with an arm across her chest. Those around us still standing follow suit. "It's an honor to see mew again. My Goddess."
