It was the first brightening. The travellers the duo was journeying with were preparing to start moving.
It's about time you got to your feet. Sen sighed inwardly. For someone who says, 'My passion is in artificing', it'd sure be nice to have made an alarm.
Cyrus got up with a grunt, the kick barely waking him up. He rolled onto his side, kicking up his sleeping bag. With another tired grunt, he got onto all fours and prepared to stand.
Sen left the tent after ensuring Cyrus was packing.
Cyrus chuckled to himself, a princess as usual. He groped around, searching for their leather-brown mystery. He flipped a page, then another one, then another, till he came to a neatly written paragraph.
It read as such
"To my treasured apprentice. I entrust to you your final mission. You should have been briefed on the importance of these documents. This will change people's understanding forever. I wish you well on your travels." Signed senior Scribe, Rantisgreen
I hope we find something worthwhile, Cyrus thought to himself.
He left the tent with several bags slung over his shoulder. In the corner of his eye, he watched as Sen interacted with the people, every so often pointing in Cyrus's general direction accompanied by a cold, angry smile.
Everything was packed, and everyone was prepared to hit the road. Sen slipped into the autocart. Taking a seat next to Cyrus, he held that same cold, angry smile. He crossed his right leg over his left, elbow to knee resting his head on his palm. "Soooo," he dragged out, "explain to me, how you got me here. From what I was told, I was brought here incapacitated. sleeping like an angel, as they told me." Sen took in a long deep breath before lowering his voice. "And about them, how did you join them?"
The them in question, were indeed an odd race to interact with. They are known as Vidiran's. They weren't a rarity in Castillo, however, their strange practices irked people. The only people who willingly engaged them were their business partners, who weren't all legal.
The Verdiran's are most easily known for their short and slender build, with viridian skin, electric blue eyes, hollow cheeks, narrow lips and a round chin.
The ginger chuckled " It's really rude of you to call the Verdiran's, them. They're really nice people you know. And to answer you, I just helped them out a bit. Their autocart was on the ticks, I couldn't help myself I had to lend a hand."
Sen snorted at his ginger friend, believing none of it.
"Now that's just rude." Sen rolled his eyes as he made eye contact with Cyrus, " Don't look at me like that. Fine, I may have taken a trip to your lab a few days after we found the book. I swear I touched nothing that I didn't need."
Sen rose to his feet, shaking the autocart, as he was about to tell Cyrus off, one of the Verdians informed them that they were about to start moving. Sen sat down in a huff, glaring at Cyrus. He was going to make it a thorough lecture once they broke off from the rest of the group.
