In a room having a mediaeval touch, a boy who looks like a ten year old opened his light blue eyes.
*grunt
Tom grunted awake, he felt like he someone conducted a marathon inside his brain, it was not pleasing in the slightest.
"... what happened?"
His voice promoted the figure of Anna to rise. Because the room was dimly lit he failure to notice his mother beside him.
She looked at him with puffy eyes, while he looked at her with confused eyes.
"Does your tummy hurt?" Anna asked.
"Why would you think my stomach hurts. Instead I feel like someone just kicked my brain" Tom replied.
Anna looked at him and let out a relived sigh, "because I couldn't find the book,I thought you ate our family heirloom out of desperation and you were out for two days, so I called in mansion doctor. He said that you were fine, a little mentally tired... if you ever want to touch my boobies just say it, just that mom is a little shy." Anna said while getting close to him.
Tom remembered everything that happened yesterday- no two days ago. He probably have to give a suitable explanation to her, after all he watched the family book she so desperately guarded turn into light particles vanishing within him, after that he passed out due to intense headache.
'No ther was something more...a voice, it said something like 'Divine concept' ', Tom tried very hard to remember.
'If it's a voice then it must be...golden finger?' Tom called out to anything inside his mind.
'Yes?' a male voice responded.
'So you are real or am I hallucinating' he mentally conveyed his thoughts.
'No master' the voice replied.
'You wait just there, I have something important to handle. I'll talk afterwards. ok?' Tom told it to wait.
'Ok, master' the voice replied without emotion.
"Mmm~ Mom the weird book is gone and will never come back" he said and she looked at him wanting an explanation.
The book has been passing down between her family for almost a thousand years. Sometimes it was even mistaken for a rare grade artifact, not to mention there was never a shortage for thief's going after it. Nevertheless the book was a tightly guarded secret in her family, just like how the book has many secrets.
Basically the book's disappearance has something to do with Tom being a reincarnate and Anna was curious, very curious!
"Well the book had a blue coloured demon calling itself, a genie, sealed inside and it granted me one reasonable wish." he said.
A Genie? it was the first time Anna was hearing of a blue coloured demon that can grant people wishes and it called itself genie. As far as her knowledge extends demons have big names and mocked people with short names. It doesn't match up.
Well, she shrugged, powerful people tend to be more and more eccentric. A demon who could grant wishes was tend to be powerful. As the saying in the world goes 'the more it is bigger, the more it is weirder' (In Anna's word).
What she is more curious is what her dear son wished for, "So what did you wish for?"
Tom sighed, "The memory of the thing i wish for will be forever forgotten. That was the condition Genie placed in the reward, for releasing him." Tom lied through the roof.
"What a bummer" she shook her head.
As for why Tom lied. Well it's simple, he didn't trust women in general no matter how mush he loved them. This may seem contradictory, but he could never trust a women with an important task.
Well let's set an example in his perspective. Would you give your favorite pet cat a grenade with a barley holding pin to play with. Let's replace the grenade with a poison gas filled balloon.
The cat may very well have good intentions, but it could mess up without even knowing. He exactly didn't hate women he just couldn't trust them with important things, in fact he loved them.
It would only take a single slip of tongue to make his life hell. He didn't know the behavior of women in this world, but in his previous lives women very much liked to boast about their children's achievements.
Note that his personality was made up of his past experiences and what exactly was that experience, that's going to be story for another date. Just know that he was mildly burned to death on a steak.
He maybe called a hypocrite for not being confide with his mother, but who cares, some personalities can be completely illogical.
Anna gave him a warm motherly kiss on the cheeks and said, "It's ok sweetie. I know you choose well.... and the book just forget it. It was too much of a burden"
When Anna went outside Tom has this guilt ridden expression on his face, he was after all lying to her face.
He shook his head, 'This was probably for the best,'
'Hello,' he mentally called.
'Hii,' the male voice replied.
'what's up?'
'Fine' the voice replied, the reply was short that it was almost offending.
'So... what are you?'
'System guide, AI,' it replied concisely.
'So you shy or what?'
'I do not posses any form of emotion. I am modelled based on your preferences.' spoke the self proclaimed AI.
'So you checked my memory or what? isn't that rude' Tom teased.
'I can never access your memories, only the thoughts that are directed at me can only interpreted by me. It's the power of the 'divine concepts husk' that created me and also the one that checked your memories.'
'Divine concept...from what i can remember a concept is a thing that exists only in thought or something that is not practical or something imaginary...So this concept does it have a name?' Tom asked.
'I am unaware. There are only a few things i know except for the system functions. What i know is that the concept is just a husk of it's former self and regathering its lost fragments gives you unimaginable power' Ai said.
'So basically we are both down in the gutter, unimaginable power it's not much to glut down' Tom concluded and continued,
'So don't you have a name exept for Ai'
'No' Ai replied.
'Do you want one?' Tom asked.
'If you would.'
'Let me think...' Tom scratched his head and thought. After some thought he striked his palm and said in his mind.
'Ezekiel, from now on you will be known as Ezekiel... don't ask meaning behind it because I don't know'
Tom vividly remembered two men shouting 'Fu*k you' at each other and their names were Tony&Ezekiel. But Tom would never tell that, Never!
(Ezekiel was a Hebrew prophet)
'Ezekiel... I like it, thank you'
'Would you like to view your status page'
'Oh, yeah!!' Tom replied with enthusiasm 'Just maybe this can change my fate'
Meanwhile Anna returned, when she saw Tom looking at the celling with myriad of emotions she couldn't help but get worried 'Did my son wish for a drug?' then she shrugged it off. Afterall her son can't be that stupid can he?
