"How could this bastard be so strong!" He lamented as he climbed out of the crater he'd formed.
This was the worst humiliation the four had ever faced in their life. They joined forces against someone of a lower Tier yet he dealt with them without only his fingers. Even a Tier 4 Emperor couldn't possibly humiliate them to this extent!
The battle went on for another five minutes with Xuanyuan whittling down their HPs while they were unable to even claim a single point of his HP bar.
Just when the situation was turning perilous for them, a crisp sound suddenly came from outside the barrier and it dispersed revealing a figure who hovered above the Auction arena. This figure was one of the Tier 4 Imperial officials of Purple leaves city.
"Don't you think it's unfair to be bullying these young kids, Mr Sword Mage?" The Imperial Official asked.
"They were only giving me some pointers" Xuanyuan said.
'Who was actually giving pointers here?' The spectators wondered. The four Kings had embarrassed look on their faces, after all their Tiers were higher than Xuanyuan's. It was only logical for them to be giving him pointers.
"I don't think so..." The Imperial official said. "They seem to be the ones being disciplined here"
"They only held back for me" said Xuanyuan.
"It doesn't matter if you're lying or not. What I'm sure of is that the Emperors won't be pleased to meet their talented disciples in this condition"
"My lord!" Mizar suddenly spoke up. "This man here attacked us and even killed our disciples. You should arrest him and make him pay for what he did!" He said.
"I can't arrest him" The Official said.
"Why can't you?"
"Because he's the Sword Mage" He replied.
"Sword Mage of the Holy city?" Mizar exclaimed in astonishment. The faces of the four Kings went from hatred to respect. The Sword Mage was a legend in the Realm of spirituality and especially in Jade spear Holy city and it's neighbouring cities, many were familiar with the title especially the NPCs. The players were even more dumbfounded when they heard that.
"Hey! Isn't the Sword Mage the player whose head is worth Epic items and so many Gold coins?" A player said in hushed voice.
"He is" Another replied
"But how come he's here instead? I heard he came from Jade spear Holy city" They wondered.
Although they were all curious about the Sword Mage, no one suggested attacking him as they all witnessed his formidability against the NPCs just now. That was what made them even more astonished as Xuanyuan was a player yet he beat the hell out of Genius NPCs. This made them reevaluate their opinions about the Realm of spirituality.
It should be known that NPCs are usually stronger than players of the same level and Tier. This was because they were natives and had long since mastered their powers. Their mastery skills and technique was also better than players'. But even as Geniuses, they were not a match for a player...
"Even if he's the Sword Mage, he ought to apologize and compensate for the deaths of six disciples" Aurora said.
"I witnessed what happened so I'm aware of the fact that you guys attacked first" The Imperial official said. "You should be glad this matter won't go beyond this place"
With that the four backed down. They were the attackers and they could face serious consequences if the Official decides to handle the matter seriously. That would be unfortunate for them. They can only resurrect the dead disciples and end it that way...
"Why don't you dine with me in my home?" The Imperial official suggested.
"It's my pleasure" Xuanyuan said and signaled to Grim reaper as they followed the Official to a Mansion not far from the Auction arena...
"I hope you enjoyed your time in Purple leaves city?" The Imperial official asked as they ate in the luxurious Mansion.
"Besides the clash with the Geniuses, I enjoyed my stay in this city" Xuanyuan replied. "I hope the Emperors won't cause a scene for what happened?"
"They won't" The Imperial official replied. "Amd if they will, I can take care of them"
"I heard Jade spear Holy city will be besieged by the alliance of two cities soon. Shouldn't you be working with the government to defend the city?" The Official asked. "I'm sure they'd be delighted to have someone like you with them"
"I'll return to the Holy city soon" Xuanyuan replied. "Before then, I have things to attend to" He said and the Official nodded in understanding.
"Who's this?" The Official asked pointing at Grim reaper.
"He's my friend" Xuanyuan replied. "I'm afraid the Emperors would try to get back at him. I hope you can take care of him for me" He said.
"I will do that" The Official said.
"Take this" The Official threw an insignia to Grim reaper who examined it curiously. At the same time a notification rang in his ears.
Grants user Count status in Purple leaves city.
"That should be enough to ensure your safety" the Official said to Grim reaper who held the insignia with a tonguetied expression. He couldn't believe what was happening to him.
The Count status was above the Noble status, and as someone who has witnessed the benefits of being a Noble, he couldn't imagine what privileges he'd get as a Count. And he didn't get all this by completing quests or grinding contribution points. He got it by simply following a player!
'I wonder if I saved a kingdom in my previous life to have gotten such huge benefits' He thought.
