He took a deep breath before pushing open the door to the top floor of the Sword Palace. When he challenged the Tier 1 Promotion quest at Tier 0, his final opponent was a Tier 1 Swordman. Now, his opponent will most likely be a Tier 2 Sword Master. He was not scared of such an existence as even tens of thousands of Sword Masters will not be able to withstand a strike from him of he goes all out.
He opened the door and entered the Hall in front of him. As expected, a Sword Master stood with his back facing Xuanyuan when he entered. He quietly stood with a longsword hanged on his belt. When Xuanyuan entered the Sword Master turned to face Xuanyuan. As usual, it was a Tier 2 clone of Xuanyuan.
Trial Guardian (Tier 2 Sword Master) Level 60
HP: 100000...
The final trial of the promotion quests is not only for players to prove themselves. By fighting a Tier 2 clone of themselves, Tier 1 players are able to experience the power of Tier 2 and how to use their Tier 2 skills...
Xuanyuan unsheathed his Silver Sword to prepare for a big fight with the Trial Guardian. During his Tier 1 promotion quest, he'd been overwhelmed and only won the battle at the last moment when he gained Mana control. This time, he was not going to fight with his true powers but he's still confident of slaying the Trial Guardian.
Surprisingly, the Trial Guardian didn't rush to fight with Xuanyuan. Instead, he supported himself with his Sword buried in the ground and calmly scrunitized Xuanyuan.
"You want to reach Tier 2? Do you think you can fight me?" The intelligent Trial Guardian said mockingly.
"Why don't we see that for ourselves?" Xuanyuan calmly replied. This was one of the plots designed to scare players in their promotion quests but that wasn't going to work on him.
"The power of Tier 2 is more than what you can handle. You should leave now and stop at Tier 1" The Trial Guardian patiently advised.
"You're so talkative" Xuanyuan muttered loudly.
"What? Me, your Father is talkative? You've angered me now. Witness my wrath!" The Trial Guardian shouted and took his Sword and lunged at Xuanyuan.
"Now that's more like it" Xuanyuan responded by raising his weapon.
The Trial Guardian executed a Tier 2 Sword Skill at Xuanyuan who responded with
A BOOM! rang out and stepping sounds followed as the Guardian was repelled several steps backwards with -5000 damage floating on top of his head
That was the famous combat technique
"Eh?" The Guardian was dumbstruck. He was a Tier 2 Sword Master yet he was repelled by a Tier 1 Swordman. Who was supposed to be repelling who here?
"Argh!!" The Guardian was even annoyed further when he saw the smug look on Xuanyuan's face. He raised his Sword again and charged at Xuanyuan with crimson Flames burning on his Sword.
Xuanyuan also raised his Sword and charged at the Guardian who raised his Sword to execute another Tier 2 Skill,
Xuanyuan ran at him while he was in flight and began launching a series of sword strikes at the Guardian depleting his HP by 30% before he touched the ground. This time the Guardian was thoroughly shocked. He's probably the most pitiful Trial Guardian in the whole game. Trial Guardians were made to give players a tough time in their promotion quests but now he was the one having a tough time fighting Xuanyuan.
"Goodness me!" The Guardian shouted as he saw Xuanyuan who was still madly depleting his HP like a Zombie thirsty for blood.
In three minutes, his HP fell to the 30% threshold. The Guardian laughed maniacally as if he have found an advantage. Runes appeared on his body as an invincibility status appeared on his head and Xuanyuan's strikes dealt no damage whatsoever to the Sword Master.
"Now it's my time to shine!" The Guardian shouted as he stood up slowly to face Xuanyuan who had retreated.
"I'm amazed that a mere Swordman can wield such a power but now here is your limit!" The Guardian said confidently.
At the 30% threshold, his Berserk skill would be activated and he'd have access to over 100% of his power. Coupled with the extra 20% increase in difficulty, his strength was almost at the standard of ordinary Demon Kings. He was confident of beating Xuanyuan at that moment.
"Do you really think you can beat me with a Berserk skill?" Xuanyuan asked with a look of disdain.
