EVA'S POV
I woke up really early, applied the herb on my hair, the jar would have been enough for five applications, four for when the guests were still around and the extra for the time it would take aunty Evan to make her journey to green hills, the rain had washed of a whole four days worth of the herbs effect, so I was applying it the third time on my hair leaving me with only two more applications before the jar empties
I quickly finished my routine scrubbing of my face, rinsing my hair, applying my oil, getting dressed, in the blue dress that was similar to the one I wore yesterday,
I came downstairs where general Hector, father and mother were seated, having a serving of square shaped cut mixed fruit, "good day General, Father, mother, hope you had a beautiful night rest" I sat and was served a bowl of soup and oat bread, which was the first course of today's meal,
"Miss Woodson, how are you doing, I heard you were feeling unwell",
"Yes general she had the most horrible headache, it's a relief she is any better today" mother replied, leave it to her to find a perfect cover-up for your absence.
"Yes general I am doing a bit better today"
"that is good, you should take a rest today then"
"Yes I will after my meal" I answered with a smile, if he knew I told on him, that smile wouldn't be on my face.
Dad started to talk with the general about today's plans to go hunting in the forest, they talked about it the remaining of breakfast while I sat quietly, not having anything to add to the conversation, hunting was perfect a for me, it would give me more than enough time to get the schedule from mothers room.
I slowed down my eating pace, only finishing my soup when they were done with their meal, "have a wonderful day hunting, General, I hope you get a huge catch today",
"of course Miss Eva"
The second they were out the door I gobbled down my fruit, the prince sitting at the dinning when I just stuffed the last square of fruit in my mouth, my mouth was full to the brim barely closing when I bowed and headed up the stairs to mothers room.
Her room was much like mine but it had a huge table drawer that was painted the same light peach color as her walls with gold painted handles that had twelve drawers.
The first two was empty, three others had her clothes and makeup in them and the rest was locked. I needed the key, so I started searching everywhere else it wasn't on top of the drawer. I went to her huge bed searching underneath the pillow, there was nothing, with a lot of difficulty I could raise the bed to search underneath still nothing, I match to her wardrobe, nothing was there, nothing was in her cloth box either, it also wasn't where she kept her footwear or where she kept her books,
I was tired of searching, I sat on her bed looking the room over to see where I could have missed, I had search everywhere, but something did catch my eyes, the painting of our family, with grand ma and uncle Drake, it's been so long since I last saw him, I went to get a closer look, he had left after grand ma died, I wonder what he would make of my situation, I wanted to remove the picture from where it was hung on the wall when a key fell out from behind it. "yes!"
I rushed to open the drawers, a few held some jewelry, but one caught my eye, it was the only thing in that drawer, it was a locket that had a beautiful emerald green stone covering the outside, I heard some noise that startled me, luckily the next drawer held what I was looking for. I closed and looked all the appropriate drawers kept the key back behind the picture and ran out of the room.
Most of the day had passed I didn't do much waiting for the prince to return, mother on the other hand ran around in preparation for the big catch they would come back with, I wasn't exactly sure how she knew they would have a big catch, but she was right, two huge boars, it was enough to feed everybody till they were stuffed, "the general is a man of ego , he wouldn't have come back until he caught something praise worthy" she said only to my hearing when they arrived.
"Welcome, ooh what a wonderful catch" mother said, "surely you all must be tired, a hot bath has been fixed, rest up while we prepare this wonderful catch.
They all entered inside while mother instructed those in charge of cooking on what they should do, I went in shortly after, to have a change of cloth, although I was sure there was nothing wrong with my outfit.
The dress I had on was absolutely spectacular, it needed two extra pair of hand to help me fit into it, the corset left me barely breathing, the red silk ball gown I wore over it however made me appreciate it, my waist looked so tiny, my burst full, the skirt I wore under made the dress puff out, its hand stopped at my elbow with some ruffles on it,
"I look beautiful" I said to no one in particular but Isabella answered me
"you look spectacular" she packed my hair before she left, I waited a little before heading out myself, I stood at the top of the stairs and waited for the prince.
It was not a long wait, before he came out from his room, he paused for a slight second when he saw me, he came to stand by my side and arched out his hand all gentlemanly,
"Miss Woodson"
"Your highness" I held his elbow and we started our decent down the stairs
"I have gotten the schedule"
"Really where is it" he paused and looked at me "do you have it on you now
"No, of course not, it's in mother's room, I can't remove it for too long or she will notice" we had reached the base of the stair way "come to my room later this night, then you can have a look at it"
He replied with a nod then we made our way to the dining room.
The night seemed to go on forever, when I was done with my meal and had stayed long enough that I could leave I excused myself heading straight to mothers room took the key from behind the painting collected the schedule from the drawer locked it, and went to my room.
I had dozed of while waiting for prince Charles, but as soon as he knocked I was up and at my door. I let him in and gave him the, schedule, he took it from me looked it over and handed it back to me
"Thank you Eva this was very helpful" with that he left, not giving me any chance to ask about James safety, since he had given me his word I assumed he will keep it.
Charles entered his room in a hurry, she had really reached her own end of the bargain, he now had to keep his, but first he wrote out the schedule on a small piece of paper, wrapped it with the one he had previously written, and tied it with a small piece of cloth, he opened the window and whistled, he didn't count up to ten when a huge owl rested on the window, he took the tied small pieces of cloth and tied it to the owl's leg he made a bird like noise and the owl flew out into the night.
